Is it right or wrong to 'kill'?? If the answer is wrong how can you justify different

values in reaching a conclusion??

An executioner is not a 'killer' They are an official who inflicts capital punishment in pursuance

of their duty to fulfil a legal judgement

It is my opinion that there are more stabbings, shootings and murders now because there are

no longer any strong deterrence within our legal system.

If you could go back in time and kill Hitler, would you do it?

When the UK had the 'death penalty' 50/60 years ago they had vocational executioners to do

the job, and to answer your question no it was not a vocation that I would have applied for. I

also think the lethal injection is a better option than hanging.

I was around at the time of Hitler - and had he not committed suicide, I would hope that he

would have gone through the justice system to the final conclusion at the hands of an

executioner.

'Off Topic' I have no sympathy for those caught trying to smuggle drugs through customs

and receiving the death sentence in foreign countries. No one is unaware of their laws flout

their laws...deal with the consequences!!

Children know from an early age what the should and should not do and from that

early age they push the boundaries to see just how far they can go!

As an instance
they will look straight at a parent/adult and look for a reaction whilst

openly doing something they know they are not allowed to do...looking for a reaction

and to see if this time they might just get away with it .(I call it the defiant stage
)

Children in general learn as they grow up that they should not hit, kick, nip or bite one

another (violence) And if they haven't learnt that by the start of school age (5 years) the

school intervenes in any anti-social behaviour....So by the age of about 10/11 years they will

be fully aware of right and wrong. Now whether they act on it is another matter.

At least with most smugglers you can understand that desperation led them to do it, maybe greed, the act is just a product of the society we live in. It's okay for intelligence services to do it, but for the common man he can pay for it with his life or live out his years in a far flung hell hole.

How somebody can receive a lesser sentence for murdering a child is just beyond comprehension for any right-thinking person.

Its offtopic, but no, I personally wouldn't. I know at the end, he was evil, but you have also to consider what he acomplished too. When he took over, Germany was bankrupt. He fixed that.

Also, better the future we know, than the future we don't, I guess.

Edited rather than add a 2nd post.

Dear lord, I just googled for JV's picture. He even looks evil. His eyes lack anything resembling compassion.

I believe Venables can't fully comprehend what he did and the anger the public feels for him. He now wants to do a TV interview apparently.

Good grief! Someone posted a video about psychopaths earlier in the thread, and I think that the description fits Venables to a T

What makes him think that the public can ever forgive him for what he has done, as if doing a TV interview can change any of the facts. Notably Robert Thomson has stayed quiet, and whilst his crime is obviously equal to that of Venables, at least he has stayed out of trouble and out of the limelight, so it is clear that he is taking his second chance seriously, unlike Venables. I think this latest news is just further evidence that he should not be released, as he clearly has no empathy for the family of his victim.

To illustrate how sick this person is please read the following

Venables's sickening exchanges with convicted sex beast Leslie Blanchard were revealed at the Old Bailey as the killer admitted three child porn offences.

Venables, 27, admitted to police after he was arrested that he was aroused by child porn but claimed he was interested in teenage girls.

However, the court was told some of the children in the images he downloaded were as young as two - the same age as his victim James Bulger.

And some of the material featured girls of eight being raped.

Anyone advocating rehabilitation for this scumbag really needs to know how f******* in the head he is.

Totally agree about Thompson. With little funds it's relatively easy for anybody to blend into obscurity, let alone the backing and finances these two have had. Thompson has obviously taken his chance and vanished (for now), but it's almost as if Venables wants to be outed?

I don't necessarily buy into this release/ being re-arrested for CP/ rerelease stuff.
I have long thought it's all part of the initial cover and new identities received in the early 2000's, upon their release.

At that time we all knew those animals were going to be released under very expensive new identities, costing £Millions - To great uproar and demands to answers as to how/why it would cost so much.

Well, I feel this is what you get for the millions spent:

New identities, new families, new countries, lifetime media blackout via attorney general, lifetime public injunctions via the same, PR stunts involving the Home Secretary announcing rearrest and imprisonment, media wild goose chase - all designed to drive the public further and further from what truly became of them.

Although I believe we will never, ever know what became of them, I suspect one has reoffended, in Australia, in a case with many similarities and consistencies, with the tragic Bulger case...and the dates/timing/ mysterious natures of the killers futures.
