ATS Oscars?

I thought it might be fun to have an ATS version of something like the Oscars or Baftas or Golden Globe or 'The Razzies' where all members could vote on a shortlist selected by ATS hierarchy.

Categories could include:

Best Thread

Best Poster

Best Video (perhaps multiple categories... best UFO video, best Crypto Video, best Space video, best nature video, best WTF video)

Best Photo (ditto above)

Best comment

Best joke

Best presentation

Best analysis

Best friend

Best Discussion

And Best of the Worst:

Worst CGI UFO video
Worst HOAX
Worst thread.

This is a good idea , i am going to start working on the 'worst thread' award right now
This will be a tough category to win

I honestly think this is a fantastic idea...dont know that it will ever come to fruition though.

I think it would be a great guide to what we all like and what we don't and also a great insight into what ATS considers a good thread or a good member and so we can all be guided by the best of the best.
I for one miss some great posts and threads by not being here all the time and a yearly awards would be a great op to showcase the best of the year so as to alert everyone to anything they might have missed...

There's so much positivity this could create me thinks.

The website TMZ has user polls on many of its threads which work brilliantly and its great to see at a click what the other 10000's of members have voted... this is software that ATS could use for its awards, whatever they call them.

Any ideas for a name for these ATS awards?? It needs to be catchy,... like the Oscars or Baftas I think....

I love it!

It should have a best of for each forum.. Maybe take the top ten most flagged threads in 2012, then let folks vote from there.

I hope we can work it out....would be a lot of fun.

I actually think they did post one similar at the end of 2012. I remember seeing it posted by the admin or mods.
It may have been just for the best posters(top50)if I recall.

The Tin Foils.

This is a fun idea.

The winners would be able to add their Tin Foil Hat Award to their Avatar. The Hat bling could have the category on it "Best Thread 2013" That way 4 or 5 years from now you could see who won what in what year.

I think I remember something like this previously ... years ago.
But I don't think there were any 'worsts' ....
Then again .. I could be remembering wrong.
