If I were being impatient, or cross with you, I wouldn't have gone to those lengths in being helpful to such a high degree of verbosity.
Linguistics, language, and the rapid evolution of a communication medium right before our eyes is magnificently fascinating, so, I injected my fascination with the subject into my reply.
I was not being cross, defensive, nor attacking you (singular personal), or any other specific personal individual.

Again, please note, as stated before, the usage of "you", typically in reply to a singular post, is usually the royal or majestic plural usage. This is a public forum. You (singular, personal) are not the only person that reads any reply I give, even if a reply is to you (singular, personal), I always address the you (majestic plural) everyone that reads these posts.

Every statement you (both singular personal and majestic plural) make on these forums is read by innumerable other people.
This is street theater.
If you (both personal singular, and majestic plural) think or believe there's private personal dialogue going on, you (both personal singular and majestic plural) are entirely mistaken.
This platform is a stage, a performance with an audience.

Understanding such might assist some in sparking cognizance to comedy I perform.

Unfortunately, there's still those who insist on the perceptive illusion of personal singular exchange, and take personal singular offense. They make crybaby statements about my attitude, or some other personal singular perception they've felt.
The evolution of language and communication medium requires an evolution of perception too.
Please stop taking personal singular offense to a performance given to an audience of hundreds, if not thousands, or even tens of thousands or more of people who will read these posts.

There are other people who ask the same questions as you, singular personal, so, all statements and replies are addressed to you, majestic plural, since most people are interchangeable, and it doesn't really matter much who or whom I'm addressing since eventually someone will come along that fits the shoe.

Think about it. Shift your perspective. See the comedy.

This too has been a lesson.

Speaking for myself, doom is less like porn and more like a fantasy sports league. (I mean, I'm inferring what a fantasy sports league is like, based on observations of other males. I actually have no idea.)

I follow the ebb and flow of current events-war, the economy, culture-the way a person follows a sports season. The reason that I say its like a fantasy sports league is because the end of the world (or at least widespread war and economic collapse) is about as likely to happen as an imaginary roster going to the real Superbowl. (Yes, I realize that on a long enough timeline, doom will happen. The sun will expand to a red giant in 5 billion years, if nothing else.)

But doomsaying is fun. The speculation, the arguing, the analysis. I know there are some people (especially over on GLP) who think that the end means good things, because they want to start ruling the Earth with Jesus or at least with thier other survivalist friends, but I'm not looking forward to that kind of widespread suffering. So for me, harmless fun that I don't take too seriously.

I'll have to admit, each generatino thought theirs was the last.

The differnce here is the creation of Isreal. To me, that was a game changer. We all konw that Isreal had to be created again before the end times. Once done, the clock started ticking. All those other generations of doom-sayers did not have the creation of Isreal to look at. We do.

And keep in mind that "Peter" means "the rock". The new Popes name does not have to be Peter. He just needs to be "the Rock of Rome". To fulfill that, all he needs to do is be a "Rock" that people look to during difficult times.

At any rate, whatever he calls himself, this one is supposed to be the 122th one. The last one.

I knew Y2K was going to be a bust. I'm an RN and I remember semi-loads of water and extra generators by the loading docks of the hospitals I worked at.0
I knew 2012 was a joke. The Myan calandar? Really?

With the creation of Isreal and now the 112th Pope... I think we are seeing prophesy unfold before out very eyes...

Yay, a new date for doomsday to look forward to, was wondering when someone fearmongerer would come up with some new date that we should all be living in fear of.

After 21 12 2012, the next doomsdate to watch out for was 27 Jan 2013, the something of March, then scoot way ahead to the end of the year and we can live in fear of some big-arsse comet smacking into our planet, COOL. But wait there's more, we can't be forgetting that China and Japan are looking like they gonna start World War 3 any second now, then they can nuke us all to kingdom come.

Now with the head pedophile resigning and 'god' striking the cathedral with lightning, we definately must be in for some death and destruction surely to god!!

Keep those doomsday threads a-happening, can't let the sheeple think they can exist in peace now otherwise the 'powers that were' will have no power over us, god forbid!!!

Honey, people's perspectives are shifting all the time. There's no lesson in that.

Okay.

I'm open to the possibility of this all being my own misunderstanding of your specific form of humor.

However if I am not alone in this specific misunderstanding, and judging by your post there are 'others', then perhaps you should open yourself to the possibility that the lesson in perception/perspective isn't for "everyone else" when it comes to your unique sense of humor, but for you and your own acerbic application of it.

As in: "it ain't us, my dear. It might just be you."
As you, "you aren't as funny as you seem to think you are".

If your own perspective isn't as firmly cemented as it seems...consider this food for thought.

Aidos...

Just to clarify, as a former student of theology and someone who actually researched the prophecies of St Malachy back in the 80's...

1. Malachy is not know to have made any prophecies of any kind during his life time. In fact issuing such prophecies would most like have resulted in him being expelled from the church and possibly worse as prophecy runs and ran counter to the religious dogma of the catholic church, both then and now.

2. The prophecies were 'discovered' in the vatican archives many years after his death and ascribed to him. Co incidentally, though the verses discribing the popes between the time of Malachy and the discovery of the documents, seemed to be eeerily acurate, they became somewhat more obtuse and open to interpetation from the point of their discovery, indicating a high probability that the author of the documents had the benifit of hindsight more so than foresight. Created with the intention of strengthening the case for a papal candidate and making him appear as the 'pre ordained' candidate at some future conclave.

3. Lastly, and I think this is the most relevant one, none of the prophecies made any mention of doom of any sort. They listed the popes up to number 112 and then end with the prophetic words 'the end'. I'm pretty sure the final credits of 'Die Hard' used those words and yet there have been four more movies so far.

4. Dont forget we are talking about a body of old men who have for centuries, dedicated their lives and years of work to what some poeple might claim to be nothing more than a load of superstitious folk tales laid out in obscure languages for about two thousand years. Its not a huge leap for me to believe that such a group of men might be inclined to elect a pope or take a papal name in order to follow the prophecies as a means of proving that their decision was pre ordained by a higher power.

And now you've proven yourself a liar.
Whatever that means and however that may impact.
You said you wouldn't post in this thread any more.
Amusing.
What else have you lied about?
In what other facilities are you entirely incapable of controlling yourself?
Mayhap you should go back to using your ErgoTheConfusion nom de plume.
It would certainly be more appropriate given your obvious self-embarrassing confusion and lack of facility in understanding what's being described and discussed.

I'm fairly certain this question was answered already in This Post if you care to read the rest of the thread.

Your response to that may very well also be answered in This Post.

Please do try to keep up.

For those that need be spoon fed:
From entry Leet on Wiki

Pr0n:
Pr0n is slang for pornography.
This is a deliberately inaccurate spelling/pronunciation for porn, where a zero is often used to replace the letter O. It is sometimes used in legitimate communications (such as email discussion groups, Usenet, chat rooms, and internet web pages) to circumvent language and content filters, which may reject messages as offensive or spam. The word also helps prevent search engines from associating commercial sites with pornography, which might result in unwelcome traffic.
Pr0n is also sometimes spelled backwards (n0rp) to further obscure the meaning to potentially uninformed readers. It can also refer to ASCII art depicting pornographic images, or to photos of the internals of consumer and industrial hardware.
Prawn, a spoof of the misspelling, has started to come into use, as well; in Grand Theft Auto: Vice City, a pornographer films his movies on "Prawn Island". Conversely, in the RPG Kingdom of Loathing, prawn, referring to a kind of crustacean, is spelled pr0n, leading to the creation of food items such as "pr0n chow mein".

Once again; electronic patois.

Ahhh well performance over I guess. And We were finally getting into your street theater for what it was.

I just assumed someone operating at your level would be able to predict what some"one" operating at my level was liable to do and be incapable of controlling them"selves" over.

Perhaps it's simply you would prefer to dance with one of your compatriots from across the universe. Makes sense, we can be kinda smelly and/or awkward down here.

Well from this human to You++... I promise to leave your thread alone for real now.... contractually and 100% honestly promised.

Signed sincerely and joyfully if perspective is able to shift enough. Thank you for your time.

*shrug* Suit yourself!

My posting record (including as ErgoTheConfusion) is consistent on this manner well before and after regardless of whatever other people you opted to listen to.

And of course there are dramatic "shifts" in the past.

Can't resist it. Yep there's a shift to the left, then a shift to the riiiight, let's do the timewalk again

sorry

It was never the end of the world.

It was the beginning of the end of the world as we know it.

I believe, "ergo" my main man, has expanded on this rather flawlessly.

Peace out..

The lesson is that you need a new hobby. Because your (SINGULAR, PERSONAL) current one of trying too hard to sound like an artificial life form is going to get real old real fast.
