It's understandable that you're hesitant to go out dating any other doomsdays, especially so soon after the last one turned out to be all tease and no tickle.
You're gun shy.
It's okay.
It'll take time for you to warm up to any new 'girls' after the amount of hype the last one dumped in promise, but, give it time. This one might not have the flash the last one did, but, you might warm up to her.

Wait to see if the next pope is a Peter by given name, nickname, middle name, has any association with the name Peter, Petrus, or any variation of it, and/or the term "Roman" from the shape of his nose, hairstyle, something orated in a sermon past, or any other sign.

Look for it like a flirting smile, or the twinkle of promise for more to come later.
Baby steps.

Soon enough you'll be cutting a rug with this new girl; full of confidence and promise yet again.

If not this one, then, there's certainly other fish in the sea soon to come that will make your doom drum go boom.

you slayed me with this. I love it, I want this post to be my valentine because I love it so much. Your witty and for that you get a
and a *S*.

2012 Doomsday was a big disappointment for all of everyone that thrives on Doompr0n.

Is there a reason why you keep spelling it 'pr0n' instead of 'porn', or is that just an accident? I'm just curious because it seems intentional.

I personally don't think who the Pope is means anything to the world, or at least my world, but there are a lot of prophecies out there to latch on to even if this one fizzles out.

It's difficult for me to see any Pope as nothing more than an elected official. Certainly no more 'Holy' than you or I. To me it's just like a Senator stepping down and someone else taking his place.

Yes the spelling is intentional. That should be obvious, but, for those not in the know, it's slang, internet speak, electronic patois, or information colloquialism stemming from ascii which later evolved into leet-speak (also known as 1337), as well as adapting and adopting linguistic evolutions of intentional misspellings of words as means for workarounds of auto-censors, which has merged and been absorbed by text-shorthand, or SMS language.

This being a public internet forum, an electronic medium, and the subject of doomsday plus the phenomenon of doom-porn and those dommdayphiliacs being under discussion where I've opened using a note of humor with slight ridicule regarding such, the use of "pr0n" in the colloquial sense as a substitution for "porn" seemed entirely appropriate.

Should you require further guided study of the etymology and evolution of the global internet patois as an emerging language, feel free to send me a PM and I can suggest further reading, though, you should be capable of continuing self-guided study on your own by using the previous suggested review material in conjunction with Urban Dictionary, and every other language on the planet with slang derivatives mixed in and you'll be on your way to understanding some of the tidbits of the what and why some things are presented the way they are in electronic media.

And yet I'll bet you still use the terms "summer" "fall" "winter" and "spring"... as well as "stone age" and "bronze age" and "industrial age", etc.

Just because you haven't been handed terms to define the incoming "now age" doesn't mean the same reasons that led to us desiring to differentiate between some "moments in life" relative to "other moments in life" isn't happening now too.

There are clear "point of no returns" and we have/are crossing one. There will never be another "normal" US Presidential Election again, for example. There is too much information and awareness out there now that will continue to fester from now till then. The whole "conspiracy theorists" being turned into boogeymen on a broader scale is another indication of the shift in public attitude unlike has been able to happen prior to the collective instant communication of the internet. Increase in awareness of the multi-thousand year financial deception, etc etc. Those are a couple of the outward symptoms.

I find the repeated expression of mediocrity, the regurgitation of bargain bin new-aged recycled material, as well as uneducated gawking dialogues in these forums, as well as the willingness to deliberately eschew and even militantly reject a logical approach to any subject where embracing ignorance seems the more commonplace, an insult to the ingenuity, genius, and intelligence of the human species.

Such statement is in no way shape or form a personal attack on anyone.
Please accept my apologies for not playing pattycakes. When you (majestic plural, or 'royal' usage, not personal) can exercise facility beyond gawking mediocrity, you might actually 'get' it.
I'm not being hostile.
If anything I'm telling some really funny jokes.
Until then, you'll continue to feel threatened, and even insulted by people who are simply speaking from their own 'level' beyond either your (majestic plural) facility or educational, or even cultural understanding.

Perhaps one day you (royal 'you' once again), will get it, and join in the laughter.

Please, again, note the usage of the word "you" in all places, even where not noted or commented on, in most posts I make, is expressed in the 'royal' or majestic plural sense, even though in response to a personal 'you'.

Won't this all kinda fizzle out when the next pope doesn't use the name or fit? I mean...the next one couldn't, could he? They wouldn't.... Nawww.... They just wouldn't.

Assuming for a moment, he doesn't use the name anyway, that does contradict the core of the prophecy doesn't it?\

I have not yet read past the 5th entry on Page 1...and had to reply forthwith

in response to the above post... we have this:

...reply to post by Wrabbit2000

From the article, at the bottom:

As for the doomsday pope, one would think we are quite safe: according to church tradition, no pope can take the name Peter II.

However, one of the favorites to succeed Benedict XVI is Ghanaian Cardinal Turkson. His first name is Peter.

first the next Pope do not need to take the name of "Peter of/from Rome"
at the onset of his being elected Pope...He can change the name of his Pontificate during his reign...

See: the Revelations book states that 'he' receives a mortal head wound yet survives... to the astonishment of the whole world.... (this is linking the last Pope to the anti-christ/false prophet duo)

so, i would propose that if the final Pope is in reality one of the two 'beasts' in the Apocalypse.
new Pope (whatever his Name)...
He may take it upon himself to take a 'Replacement Name' after he survives the mortal head wound~~

His reasoning may be because the former Pope had actually died then re-animated as a re-born Pope..
.
He then takes the name Petros or Rock

in this very reasonable fashion... the rule of the Church was maintained,, 'Peter' was a Roman-'Catholic'
thus fufilling his identity as Peter-the-Roman before He even takes a Mission Name for his Papacy
then. if he survives a fatal/lethal head wound and lives after a NDE.... he assumes a New Papal Name !
(which may well be the new 'Rock'/Petra on which the new Roman Church is based on

not too complicated to follow

See, here is the problem with most skeptics and nay-Sayers.

1. The end of 2012 was the beginning of a new era and not the end of the world... Hollywood and those that what to hide the truth, or those that just wanted make fun of it, made the claim that "the world will end" when in fact no one in the Mayan Calendar research field ever claimed that the world will end, NO ONE so stop this talk like is was a real discussion.

2. This Pope talk is different! It is a prophesy that has been around since the 1500 based on written evidence that has been accounted for as being fulfilled up to this point, a bit has been stretch to fit, but it does ring more true than not. We will soon see if it continues to ring true.

If you put together the fact that an old Galactic age just ended and the new Galactic age is beginning with the prophesy of the final pope and the constant battling going on in the middle east, around Armageddon, it is a possibility that forces unseen are trying to bring about the Book of Revelations.

Just because a piece of a puzzle shows nothing about the bigger picture, doesn't mean there isn't a bigger picture.

heres some additional reading...

It’s also interesting that the latest batch of cardinals, hand-picked by Pope Benedict, takes office next week—just days before Pope Benedict xvi resigns.

Did Pope Benedict make this last-minute tweak to secure control and thereby ensure the speedy installment of a specific individual as his replacement? Someone, no doubt, who will continue Benedict’s campaign to create a conservative, traditional Vatican?

Second, expect the next pope to be a staunch advocate of a world-dominating, Catholic united states of Europe. This means he will more than likely be European, and most likely Italian or German.

source:www.thetrumpet.com...

it appears that Ben XVI had over the years helped install more than 50% of the sitting Cardinals who will vote the next Pontif in office

so there is a secret move going on behind the scenes... Benedict 16 is maneuvering something or someone into power

bjut a European, German at that ? astonishing....
remember Ratzinger as a youth was a member of the NAZI brown-shirts

but then there is this closing paragraph:

In the coming days and weeks, speculation will abound about who the next pope will be and what the Vatican will look like under his stewardship. Although we don’t yet know who this man will be, we do know that he will be conservative, and that he will be a powerful advocate of European integration. We also know, thanks to Bible prophecy, that this man and the Vatican will play a key role in instigating events that will culminate in the greatest event in human history: The Second Coming of Jesus Christ!

a powerful, conservative, european, with the force and charisma to create the 'end-time' empire of the Beast from the now economically weak EU....& the return of Jesus.... ????
a lot of WW COG (Herbert W Armstrong in the article... but nothing on the Armstrong son, Garner Ted,,,)

Keep repeating that over and over, as others pointed already out, our Earth/society/culture is ALWAYS shifting. 2012 had no significance whatsoever. There were way bigger shifts in the past, let's just randomly pick out the Hippie culture in the the 60s, 50s..or many other areas where indeed shifts happened. Why do they happen? Because this is how life works. Generations come and go, new thoughts and ideas are being born. All the time.

Also..Hollywood only picked up on what a certain (tiny!) percentage of the people believed, not vice versa. If 2012 would NOT have been a subject in some fringe circles, the media wouldn't have picked up on the topic whatsoever. The media, in this case is PASSIVE, as so often when media only caters to topics which are "hot right now".

The pope prophecy is not different than any other "prophecy", be it Nostradamus or whatever so called prophecy. Because it says nothing in specific and ONLY gets a meaning afterwards once people interpret random things in hindsight, "making a prophecy true", no matter what it takes.

"Gloria Olivae" ---> Pope Beneditct, is extremely far fetched, someone interprets "Gloria Olivae" as having to do with the Order of St. Benedict because it has an Olive branch in its symbol (of course, Pope Benedict is not even a member of that order...but..who cares).

And the last "prophecy" was not even foretold by St. Malachy, but added later in the 19th century

S# is hitting the fan in the middle-east ever since I am a child and was able to comprehend news on TV, not only that, violence and war in the M.E. exists for decades, CENTURIES already and is not worse today than it ever was.

And..a "galactic age"..what is that supposed to mean?

If you are referring to the Age of Aquarius, "scholars" are not even sure when this will start or has started, there is differences in opinion +/- several thousands of years, some say we're already in this "new age", some say it will take another few thousand years.

Exactly. That's why I'm watching these developments with a bit more interest than usual. They know the prophecies. Has this religion run it's course? Will they choose a Peter? And if it is to be so, what exactly is the Church planning?

I guess we will just have to wait and see!! Interesting times ahead.

Personally I think that is it very correct that the 112th pope will mark the Final Judgement.

This pope who has given in his notice ( despite the long aquired tradtion to die in office ) has done so after a discussion with God ( his own explanation ).
I believe that during this "discussion" he realized that enough was enough. Never an answer. Never a comment. Never even a brief chuckle. God never answered.
Obvious conclusion. God doesn't exist, so Mr. Pope decided to give up and let someone else take over.

The new one is only a front figure meant to "tie the loose ends", "cross the t's" and "dot the i's".
He will begin the process of dismantling the catholic church.

So "The final Judgment" is simply the truth - God doesn't exist.

Yay! The only things that could make this even more fun would be if some nutbag predicted an actual timeline and the soon to be Pope purposely picked the name to fit in with the prophecy. Now that would give me the snips and giggles for sure!

Well it is obviously misspelled, and considering the level of misspellings one generally comes across on a forum, whether it was intentional or not wasn't. I've learned it's best not to take things for granted. I actually thought it was some sort of weird censoring software to be honest, but I just wasn't sure.

Thanks for clearing it up for me though.

Your homework lesson for today should include a study of ASCII, Binary to ASCII conversion, Leet Speak, and Textese, or SMS language.

Wow.

I never said it wasn't appropriate to use slang in your opening post, I simply asked about the slang itself. It was merely a question, not a slight to your intelligence, understanding of slang, or your spelling capabilities.

It seems from the tone and focus of your post that you have taken offense, and so I am sorry you misunderstood the intention of my question. It was not to attack you at all. Your defensive posturing isn't necessary.

I'm just not familiar with all forms of "L33T speak" as I don't normally use it, and I am sure I am not alone. This was merely something new for me. Nothing more, nothing less. There is no need to prove your mastery of it to me, it's really not even that important to my everyday life. L33T speak and slang just isn't my thing. You chose to focus heavily on the one innocuous sentence that had very little to do with the topic of the thread, and ignored the rest of my entire post that actually did. That really says something to me.

I would hope that if some aspect of your opening post was unclear to a reader, that you would be a bit more patient when asked for clarity, particularly when it comes to something as esoteric as urban/internet slang, but again if I have offended your intelligence I would like to take the time to apologize, and acknowledged your superior knowledge of L33T speak.

I think I'll skip the homework lesson you suggest since you have already answered my question, and wish you luck with your discussion.
