Whenever I do long timelapse photos of the sky with my semi-pro camera gear, I record flashes, streaks, and stars that appear to exist for only a single frame. I posted about it here and at astro-photography forums. General conclusions lead to meteorites, gamma ray bursts, satellites.... I posted a demo video of it on youtube.

MUST WATCH IN 1080p or higher FULL SCREEN to see it. Sorry it's hard to follow and really needs some narration.

Just random electrical discharge in the upper atmosphere, unless you have further proof this is more than a safe bet. Shut er down.
