Real-Life 'Vampire' Is Addicted To Drinking Blood & Has Multiple Personalities, Doctors Say

In a chilling case report, doctors in Turkey have described what they claim to be a real-life vampire with multiple personalities and an addiction to drinking blood.

The 23-year-old married man apparently started out slicing his own arms, chest and belly with razor blades, letting the blood drip into a cup so he could drink it. But when he experienced compulsions to drink blood "as urgent as breathing," he started turning to other sources, the doctors said.

The man, whose name and hometown were not revealed in the report, was arrested several times after stabbing and biting others to collect and drink their blood. He apparently even got his father to get him bags of the ghastly drink from blood banks, according to the report released today (Feb. 8) by the Journal of Psychotherapy and Psychosomatics. The case study was published last fall

Apparently the man who was the focus of this paper has been through and wittnessed a gruesome series of viscioulsy violent events. These events and other stressors in his life caused him to develop a dissociative identity disorder.
Maybe becoming a vampire as a coping mechanism for dealing with witnessing repeated violent bloody episodes makes sense.

Medication and supervison defininitely, but I personally would like to see them force him to wear a cape all the time. Do they make strait-jacket capes?

He may be a whackadoo, but he seems to be a vampire all the same.

I assume it must be a psychological addiction, right? I mean, I wonder if there is a physical addiction...

Medication only puts a band aid on it by making him unable to hurt anyone. But it's too costly in my opinion.

Instead we should explain to him how totally absurd and preposterous this all actually is.
Get out the books, and argue it with him until he accepts reality.

How do we know for sure this approach won't work?
I am afraid people are letting this guy get the wrong sort of "attention" from this.

What a bizarre case but then his whole life sounds like something out of a bad novel.

Frenzied attacks by his mother when he was a teen.

Watching his mate cut off some fellas head and cock,not exactly an everyday occurance.Presumably his pal intended to kill and mutilate this guy so if he was present he surely must have known they were there with violent intent.

If you set out to kill someone you don't just take along a mate for a laugh,it suggests a life familiar with violence.

His daughter dying was probably the tipping point and his father getting him blood gives the impression his father has some connection to the medical world.

If he can't remember anything between 5 and 11 it sounds like his multiple persnalities,DID began at an early age.

How do you treat somebody with multiple personalities ??

Beyond medication and supervision is there any point giving 'him',the main personality therapy if he isn't aware of the blood addicted persona,does talking to him have any effect on the vampiric personality ??

Do you have to treat each personality as seperate people to begin with or do you focus on the main persona and cure them all ??

Maybe heavy sedation,a padded cell and a remote secure asylum would be his future

This isn't that surprising. Don't they have blood rituals to this day in many cultures?

Personally, the metallic taste isn't my cup of um tea, but if the provider of blood has given consent, then to each their own.
