The prophecy doesn't add up folks, count!

When Malachy write the proph, celestine II was the 167th pope, and he said 112 popes after that is the last pope?
Simple math:

167 + 112 = 279

279 right? Benedict is the 266th....

I'm seriouslly waiting for Christ to come! No hoaxes please!

Even those that don't believe in God or conspiracies must be somewhat shaken by
that excellent photograph!

Like the beginning of a horror film.

How often are there lighting storms during the month of FEB (winter) ? Maybe they happen, but the timing is kinda of interesting.

The prophesy doesn't give a total to my knowledge, just 112 popes starting with Pope Celestine II.

I just want to add some perspective regarding the frequency of lightning strikes.

I assume a lot of people in this thread are American & as such are used to your own weather system. I visited America once and during the week i was there I experienced more violent electrical storms than I had experienced during my entire life of 35 years at home.
Now I reside in Scotland and we get plenty of rain etc.. but electrical storms maybe happen once or twice per year max, so when it happens it's quite the novelty. Also it's very rarely the fork variety and is usually just sheet lightning.
Now Italy is further south than us so will have more tropical weather but given the time of year i would assume the temps in Italy are maybe +5c from us. On checking the temps for the last few days in Rome they have been as low as us at 10c and humidity is at 81%.
So I don't know if someone can Italy can advise but are lightning storms usually formed at this time of year when the temps are so low?

i dont know much about your cited source, so i dont have any opinion really. personally i am going to believe this is true unless proven false. the thing is it could get real deep real quick. so say this is an Illuminati move based on the prophecies, what if the prophecies were made by the Illuminati as a script they were going to follow in order to achieve whatever goal they may have.

so if you go down the Illuminati road than you should believe that they hide technology, one technology that has been in conversation here plenty on ats is weather control, which can include lighting storms(ZEUS, ODIN?) so did the Illuminati write a script, and now acting it out and adding special effects to make it more believable?

and it can go even deeper(aliens, reptillians,) ect, but i dont want to jack the tread good find star and flag

I have often wondered about that myself, if some of these predictions were not merely predictions but also a guide of things to come or that must be done.

Because oddly some of these texts that had been lost for ages just appear at the most random times and some of what is said can send chills down anyone's spine. And you have to wonder, a lot of these predictions are already known to exist, why leaders of the world would purposely continue on the path that would make the prediction true, which has happened way to often to be merely coincidence or the leaders were just to dumb not to learn from history/predictions (this last one though might be true - some politicians are dumber then dirt...).

By the way to the poster of the topic, seeing that picture with its timing to what happen, yeah wow chills x 10 down my spine. I remember hearing about the prophecy as a little kid and counting down to whether it held or not...looks like its holding...wish it was not...

Silo13- I don't have time to pull the original source, but essentially this topic was covered on a Catholic forum and someone linked this from the Catholic Encyclopedia

"The most famous and best known prophecies about the popes are those attributed to St. Malachy. In 1139 he went to Rome to give an account of the affairs of his diocese to the pope, Innocent II, who promised him two palliums for the metropolitan Sees of Armagh and Cashel. While at Rome, he received (according to the Abbé Cucherat) the strange vision of the future wherein was unfolded before his mind the long list of illustrious pontiffs who were to rule the Church until the end of time. The same author tells us that St. Malachy gave his manuscript to Innocent II to console him in the midst of his tribulations, and that the document remained unknown in the Roman Archives until its discovery in 1590 (Cucherat, "Proph. de la succession des papes", ch. xv). They were first published by Arnold de Wyon, and ever since there has been much discussion as to whether they are genuine predictions of St. Malachy or forgeries. The silence of 400 years on the part of so many learned authors who had written about the popes, and the silence of St. Bernard especially, who wrote the "Life of St. Malachy", is a strong argument against their authenticity, but it is not conclusive if we adopt Cucherat's theory that they were hidden in the Archives during those 400 years."

While it doesn't explicitly say that they disbelieve in the prophecies, it basically says they don't know what to think about them. However, from what others said on that forum most theologians in the Church don't think that they're genuine.

Mr. Conspiracy- If people think that the next Pope is going to be either A) the last pope or B) the antichrist himself, I don't understand how you could not gather that this is an end of the world prediction in a round-a-bout way..

Also- from what I read December 21st was supposed to be a lot of things. I don't think there's one leading theory out there that specifically nailed down what was to happen. I heard everything under the rainbow regarding December 21st. I also heard a lot of things regarding Y2K and all the crap John Titor said that had forums like this ablaze in the early 2000's. If you hadn't noticed since 2012 came and went the board has been relatively quiet in regards to end of the world threads and has been heavy on anti/pro-gun threads. I attribute this to no new "gripping" imminent doom news surfacing.

From what I've gathered regarding all of this a guy in the early 1100's named St. Malachy had a vision where he saw every Pope that was to be from his time until the end of time. Pope Benedict is allegedly the second to last Pope and the next Pope is supposed to be either the anti-christ himself or the last Pope before the anti-christ assumes power.

Seriously, do you really think with the so called prophecy, that any pope in the future will ever be called peter?

You just wouldn't let anyone with an affiliation of the sort near the papacy.

I think it flew right over your head I wasn't being entirely serious.

No, it caught me right between the ears... just wasnt funny, and quite frankly I for one am pretty fed up with the constant sarcasm and wisecracks people insist on posting when they have nothing relevant to say.

It undermines the research, it undermines the forum. This space is hard enough to navigate withOUT five pages of amateur comedy to sift through.

The year is 2013..People still believe in religions and still insinuate the iea that natural events like a lightning strike happens because of some sort of supernatural intervention. This is not how I remember ATS? Where are all the skeptics? the naysayers? Suddenly everyone hear is afraid, people now, don't be afraid, after all lightning strikes earth about 10000 times a day, so it's just coincidence, Think it's weird? Well, coincidences happen, a lot.
And even if there is a God, I bet It would not be angry on me when I die, because after all It is all knowing, so It knows every reason why I chose to not believe in a God. I don't say there is no God, I am just neutral, not saying there is, not saying there isn't. But I bet It would not be like any of us could imagine or what we would think It is.
