Muslim fanatics spouting on British TV

However, I think from free speech and also from an anti-Islamist perspective, they should be allowed to spout it, rather than sweeping the problem under a rug and pretend it doesnt exist. Not many things increase anti-islamist sentiment more than a fanatic on TV.

To the topic, islamic extremism in the UK is widespread, there is good evidence for it. For example around a third British muslims want to kill apostates, and around two thirds want to make homosexuality illegal.

Source (page 47)

To be fair, only just under 40% of British Muslims are extremists or very aggressive at defending their faith from criticism, according to an NOP Poll reported by CBS News.

NOP Research survey reports, "hardcore Islamists" constitute 9% of the British Muslim population. A slightly more moderate group is composed of "staunch defenders of Islam." This second group comprises 29% of the British Muslim population. Individuals in this group aggressively defend their religion from internal and external threats, real or imagined.

CBS News

So according to that NOP research, only 38% of British Muslims are hardcore Islamist or 'staunch defenders of Islam' who react aggressively to any criticism of Islam. The other 62% are more moderate.

A BBC poll points to a more moderate British Muslim community.

• 66% of British Muslims support the authorities in their fight against Al Qaeda activities, while only 16% do not. 9% don't know if they do or not.

• 80% of British Muslims would inform the police if the suspected a Muslim of being involved in Al Qaeda inspired terrorism. 9% would not while 5% are not sure.

• 78% of British Muslims feel it is wrong for the Taliban to attack British/American soldiers in Afghanistan. 11% think the Taliban attacks are justified while 9% don't know.

• 95% of British Muslims disagree with Taliban suicide bombs in Pakistan.

Jesus said once: who is laughing now, will cry dearly later.

Ignorance oozes on this topic far and wide, Quran is the word of god almighty not the story of the god’s messenger.

What the Muhammad (PBUH) did was correct thing to do in his time and his time frame against the pagans of mecca, same thing Ibrahim(PBUH) did in his own time against those barbarians (famous for his rage against the pagan’s gods in mecca cube), hell….. Jesus (PBUH) did the same thing against freaking jews too…..!

Let me ask you all insignificant/ unimportant and lame excuse of human being (as you all are). Who are you to judge their (history making) actions…??

What have you done lately to change the course of history to brag about..?

If you are not the god’s messenger, then shove it all your (stupid opinions) up to your arse, since you have no idea what you are talking about.

My 2 cents…….

I take it you are one of the '"hardcore Islamists"' or "staunch defenders of Islam" the NOP study above refers to. It is worrying that you feel I am not entitled to judge the "history making actions" of Muhammad (as you put it).

Islam has established itself in my country but so far it has shown itself to be, to varying degrees, an intolerant and aggressive religion which is, again to varying degrees, incompatible with the values of a Western European nation.

Yet you would clearly remove my right to even criticize it?

Your attitude isn't just restricted to only British Muslims (68% of British Muslims polled believe that people who insult Islam should be arrested and prosecuted Link).

In the USA

In a Poll:

• Nearly Half of U.S. Muslims Believe That Critics of Muhammad Should Be Criminally Prosecuted.

• And one in eight American Muslims believe that Muhammad's critics should face the death penalty.

• 58% said criticism of their religion or of Muhammad should not be allowed under the Constitution.

CBS News

Muslims on both sides of the Atlantic are, as a group, intolerant of criticism. The 1 in 8 American Muslims polled who felt that people who criticize Muhammad should be executed are particularly worrying.

Why and how do the Muslims get away with this?
No one else would get away with it.

That was a bit rude!

Maybe I am God's messenger -

And Lo, He sayeth unto me -"You humans are a pathetic lot, why can't you just get along? I never said anything about killing people who don't agree with you and most of your religious texts I had no creative input in, but I was misquoted by power hungry, misogynistic demagogues. It's why I gave up on you and started my other project, Marklar...."

No. It is better that we share and disscuss insights, have dialogues to understand one another better, afterall we all share this world and one common Creator who is known by many names, across geological barriers, cultures, time and space.

The existance of Allah did not came about only in prophet Muhammad's time, but way long before, as the Koran and the prophet Muhammad had testified, for we all share the same common ancestors - Abraham - blessed of God.

Our common Creator's teachings through his divine teachers sent have nothing to hide and is transparent for all mankind to know, to discuss and use it as the moral and ethical guidelines for progress and evolution of our race - humanity.

For too long, divine teachings had been kept secret and the common people not allowed to study it, nor even given the basics of education for it, BY devious mortals whom had sought to keep it secret for their own personal self glory and agendas, often mis-interpretated for themselves.

Today is a different world, as more are educated and seeking for knowledge, and it is such knowledge that will bring us closer to our Creator than the often mis-interpretations of flawed mortals can ever do.

And it is only through such sharing, discussing, debate can we mortals comprehend the full meanings of divine teachings to progress and evolve, with less misunderstands and slaughters by the selfish whom had kept us in the dark and divided for centuries.

Calling for the torture of homosexuals, the death of those who insult Muhammad and the death of those who leave Islam, does seem to incite violence.

Perhaps it would be very useful to protect our children from this type of insanity by gathering up all copies of the koran and bibles and conduct a mass burniing of them keeping a few copiews back so as to display them in a museum.

I would never normally entertain the thought of burning a book but the aforementioned incite so much hate and violence that I would make an exception in order to save our species from further retardation as a result of the deluded clowns that point to these books as a moral compass.

you mean like the prophet Muhammad who used it to justify is raping of young children......theft and killing people in their caravans.......and other atrocities? horrible atrocities of laws and abuse of women? Justify all you want like you did earlier about it being the "time" he grew up, its still wrong, and they are still trying to enforce the same things TODAY

And to start a religion to justify his own self importance and gain power?

I like how you conveniently leave him exempt from your little quote there..........

In anycase, it is up to every individual member who search for realities to find it out for themselves, on what really happened during the prophet's lifetime

Who is doing the spinning? Best one find out for themselves, as knowledge is better treasured under one's own effort than to be spoonfed by others, or influenced by another's viewpoint.

The creators of false religions are the ones doing the spinning.

Religion is one MASSIVE lie.

I DO totally agree about searching for realities and learning what is really going on though.

I did exactly that last year only to find out that false religion is one of the biggest scams in the history of man.

What amazed me was when I learned about the stealth agenda and WHO was actually behind the facade.

Religion is being used as a major tool of the Illuminati agenda.

I highly recommend that everyone learn what is really going on and study the TRUE origins of all false religions.

If you want to study the true origins of Islam this is a good place to start.

Mohammed is called the "Apostle of Peace" by Muslims. NOTHING could be further from the truth.

Mohammed was in fact a terrorist, criminal and murderer whose entire life was based on victimizing innocents and indulging in mindless violence, carnage and massacre. He was a man who destroyed peace wherever he went, and in its place brought terror, carnage and death.

Ever since that incident, Mohammed was determined to take revenge on the Meccans. - surprise raids on trade caravans and tribal settlements, the use of plunder thus obtained for recruiting an ever growing army of greedy desperados, assassinations of opponents, blackmail, expulsion and massacre of the Jews of Medinah, attack and enslavement of the Jews of Khayber, rape of women and children, sale of these victims after rape, trickery, treachery and bribery employed to their fullest extent to grow the numbers of his religion Islam which ironically was supposed to mean "Peace"! He organised no less than 86 expeditions, 26 of which he led himself.

Source

Muhammad, on the other hand, was a warlord. Unable to trade in his adopted farming town of Medina, he took to plundering passing caravans, deemed an acceptable economic activity back then. Emboldened by victories, he took to plundering towns, massacred the inhabitants of some to make others submit, and eventually won the surrender of his native Mecca.

Like the mafia, a protection racket gradually evolved where other tribes were allowed to live peacefully provided they paid tribute to Muslim rulers

Welcome to the modern world!
Anyone due to this politically correct nonsense doesn't DARE to tell any "minority" that they're wrong because they'll be labeled as "intolerant" for not tolerating the intolerance.

Whatever way you look at it this is just wrong. You can argue over whether mohammed was a voilent man or just a fluffy dude a bit like a latter day Noel Edmonds but with a bigger beard,it's missing the point.

Extremist religion in neither welcome in the UK or should be dismissed so easily.

The very history of this country should be a huge warning to us all where fanatical religion leads.

How many Britons have been tortured, killed, massacred, burnt, hung, drawn and quartered or died on the numerous battlefields from the River Boyne to Culloden solely or partly due to religion.

It's never been clear cut.At Boyne there were Dutch,English and Irish protestants and even some catholics fighting for protestant King William against Irish and English catholics and protestants fighting for catholic James II.
At Culloden the Hanovarian army of mostly German and Lowland AND Highland Scots fought Bonnie Prince Charlie and the mostly Highland army but there were protestant lowlander and English among them too.
What about the English Civil War with Puritans, catholic Irish,Calvanist Scots. In fact,a previous poster suggested returning to absolute monarch, well King Charles I was our last real absolute monarch and his refusal to change cost him his head in 1649 so don't think we want to go back there but there's some merit in breaking away from the shackes of Europe !!!

The point is and the above examples barely scratch the surface that fundamental religion has torn this country apart over the centuries and the legacy can be all too brutal still especially at an 'old firm' match or in Belfast so the rise of a strong 'foriegn' religion has NO place in this country.

Anyone has the freedom of belief and the right to practice their religion without fear of persecution but when they start to inflict it on the local community,to make demands or expect specific rights they should be denied. It's as simple as that !!!

This is a secular country,if there is a national religion (I ascribe to no religion or god) then it would nominally be christianity as the Queen is head of the church, defender of the faith etc.

You can practice Islam,Juddiasm,Paganism,Wicca whatever you like but DO NOT expect the laws of customs of the land to change in favour of your faith,if you want Sharia law,or to make criticising Islam, mohammed and being homosexual a crime then move to an Islamic nation.

This is the UK,we are not Islamic,we are secular and that is how it is and how it will stay.

These fundamental TV stations that broadcast such messages of hate should be investigated by the law and if they continue charged though no doubt they'll just move their message to the internet.

I know we're seen as too tolerant, too weak in this country to deal with this kind of religious extremism by both the US and the Islamic fundamentalists but it needs to be brought out into the open and sorted out while it still can.

If we turn a blind eye, sweep it under the carpet and hope that if we ignore it it'll go away then it'll build and build till it explodes in a very violent and bloody way, mark my words !!!

I just honestly cant ever see myself getting angry about this, getting mad at the people who subscribe to these ideals is like getting mad at a dog for being stupid. They really just cant help it.

Ironic though as always, they are in a country that allows freedom of speech and freedom in general and they come from countries that will stone you to death if you have sex out of wedlock...

Step out line in where-ever-istan and you just get shot or blown up...

Its a catch 22...

The government have created a society where minorities , in the UK , get better treatment than its own citizens...and yet they also grant them the right to spew hatred against our nation...(which is their free speech right...)

My concern is..the government them selves promote this hate speech..we know they work closely with many different people to cause civil unrest (Al-Qaeda etc..)

We THE PEOPLE can tell you *where* the civil unrest originates, and yet the government seem "oblivious"..

So knowing that they *create* this UNREST on *purpose*, do we really have the *right* to condemn *all* Moslems (and similar scenarios etc..) ..?!?!

It's tough to deal with I know, as I too have projected my resentment upon the *pawns* in the game...

You have to laugh at the hypocrisy. Having spent a bit of time in Islamic countries I always find it rather amusing to see men holding hands and greeting each other with nose kisses. And of course many Muslim men bat for the other side behind closed doors. So it's not a case of all muslims are calling for the torture of gays, as usual it's a few loons giving the whole religion a bad name.
