As for the filming of this whole thing, if I were the cop, I too would have landed the heli to see why these people were acting so defiantly by following him on camera. That woman was asking for trouble with her cockiness. And to further clear things up, the camera was hanging around her neck and was rolling througout the whole sequence. He probably wasn't aware of it filming him.
The LEO shouldn't do anything that would be worth filming. Like try to search the woman's pockets when she did not consent to a search.
Filming a helicopter flying very low circles is an act of defiance? Wow, I never really believed that the govt has paid posters on this site, but why on earth would someone say that filming a circling helocopter was an act of defiance?
It would be.... if they were actively searching for her, she was a criminal and she knew that they were looking for her.

Considering the serious nature of the search for Dorner, that cop did exactly what he was supposed to do that day, which was to ask for and record the identity of these people; that could come in useful in a later search for any accomplices that could be aiding Dorner in his 'escape'. They'd be 'on record' as having been in the vicinity, other than driving through.

Hey, I'm not a gov't poster and in fact I stand on the 'other side' with this whole issue, Sandy Hook, Aurora and 9/11. (In fact I would bet that some of my suspicions are way more radical than yours!)
What I am, though is FAIR....I don't belong to any teams on any issue and use my common sense.
I think a mountain was made out of a molehill with this one, for the sake of sensationalism and cronyism, taking the fixed stance that "all cops are bad", etc....
What you didn't NOT mention was the main point of my post: That extraordinary cop activity was going on in that area that day, because of the close proximity to the heavy police activity THAT DAY!
This cop was just a County cop doing what they do there,(air patrol on I-15) with special instructions for that particular situation.
As for 'defiance', this was in the middle of the phucking desert, on the speediest stretch of desert interstate towards Las Vegas. There was good reason to be on extra lookout, especially on that road.
It's obvious that the heli was approaching them and them only. I wouldn not have copped an attitude towards him, whatever I thought of the situation. Why provoke the guy?
Anyway, how could she know whether he was looking for a woman that could even vaguely follow her description, or even wonder if these two needed help?
His duty was to investigate, which I think he did with reasonable politeness.

OK smart guy. What if this woman was trafficking children for porn? What if she was loitering around an arranged ransom drop-point? You don't know what was being investigated or how vigilant the police should or should not be.
I can't believe you side with the dumb pothead girl who has to hot-glue her phone together. C'mon man, SHE WAS HOLDING!

Was she trespassing or something? I find it odd that a helicopter would just land and harass a woman for absolutely no reason.
There must something else to this story being left out.
