EVERYBODY thought Saddam had WMDs. The Russians warned us. Europe thought it. Democrat senators stated it was common knowledge. Iraqi generals were so sure they had stuff they were asking about situational useage. and there were lots of stories at the time that they were trucked out to...Syria. maybe that's one reason there's so much hesitation to get into that mess?
it wouldn't be hard to hide, say, a truckload of WMDs in a country the size of California.

Saddam's WMDs were considered common knowledge. Gen Powell didn't need to do a whole lot of convinvin'.
