Yeah yeah the thread title was a bit tongue in cheek

The background story:
A few days ago I half seriously and half jokingly posted This post and some of us had fun throwing around ideas, You'll see the finished article in a moment, a massive thanks to those that threw in ideas/

The plot:

With much subterfuge, furtiveness and generally being sneaky we set up an operation at work that the C.I.A. would have been proud of. Some of "The lads" at work 'decided it was time to work on a different part of the current project and placed themselves strategically around the workshop to give me the heads up if the boss came around. Thanks Lad's
So I went to work on the idea.

The Model:

The model is 'Stompy' a present from my estranged kids that used to go with me on my reserve duties to the army, He used to hang out the top of my flack jacket and just his presence diffused many difficult situations, so I thought it only correct that he should be the model, thanks Stompy

Of course gravity is an issue, even us members of ATS so I had to use tooth picks to hold the T and S in place but these will be bonded to the glass top and will appear to float.

And so without further ado I present the fine people of ATS with the first ever (as far as I'm aware) for you delectation.

ATS coffee table base.

Pretty cool.

Can you take some more and larger pictures.
I'm sure many others would also like a closer look.

Very neat.

I've always admired craftsmen who can build things with their imagination. Impressive

[color=FF1717]CODY!

I want to see you in my office, first thing Monday morning!!

Don't bother wearing your work clothes, or bringing your lunch, or clocking in, for you will NOT be staying very long!!

P.S. If I wasn't your (soon to be 'former') boss, I might have said, "That's a pretty neat table. Good Job!"

Cody

You have a lot of talent. The one time I tried to make a table, it was out of Legos and was very bumpy.

Are you a woodcarver by trade or hobby?

Either way, well done. S&F

Thanks smyleegrl
I make very expensive furniture for extremely rich people and corporations for a living, This was a very pleasant distraction and a bit of fun.
A collaboration of ATS members ideas made real. Cant wait for the top to turn up, Mrs C is still a tad skeptical but having seen it now thinks it could be an interesting conversation piece.

And how would one go about commissioning a smiley face table?

One would ask
Then one would receive.
Interesting idea though. I once made for a company an ampersand and a question mark for their reception area the ethos was & what now to improve ?.
That was fun

Nice work!

When your guests ask - " what does ATS stand for?"

You can answer - "A Table Stupid!"
