I am not talking about the "classic" demons,, maybe,,,

well, anyway, i have named my demon, his name is,,

Hate
Anger
Jealousy
Fear
and his child, is violence

it is important to detect these "demons", there are a million reasons why we have these things,
whatever they may be. when the name is whispered in your ear, its important to do/feel the opposite.
only then, can we gain balance.
naming them is a good thing, or to paint,, or carving them in stone, like my ancient avatar here,
but you must first, be aware of them,

I am legion, for we are many, and so on.
now i ask, do you dare name yours?

I have a bacon demon.
Every time I open my fridge, it's like it casts this uncontrollable spell over me.... I black out.. And next thing I know I'm covered in delicious bacon grease.

The other day, I tried to make myself a fruit smoothie.
To make a long story short: Bacon smoothie.

No.....I do not name them, but they do have names... I cast them out.

And I do that only because I use THE NAME!!

And only with a God given discernment.

no didnt you read,, i am talking about detecting flaws in personality and spirit,
most of us are, like, nothing wrong with me because i am awesome,..

I used to try to cast them out, back when I saw the world as black-or-white, and not a thousand shades of gray. Then I evolved, and came to realize that the daemon was as much a part of me, as I was a part of it. Instead of attacking this perceived enemy, I amalgamated it. Through the processes of spiritual alchemy I turned the wrath, and anger it created, into courage, and action. I never looked back after that. I learned to control it, and now its energy, and mine, act in unison.

Big difference in having unseen friends and dealing with a character flaw!

As far as literal demons, I'd rather not give the names. But I've got an idea of 'who' they may be. I became possessed a few years ago. Things went well for a while, but I feel they've crept back in, and I am oppressed. I think back to when my perspective was clear, and when I saw through my own eyes, but now I can feel the distortions and haziness of my own consciousness again. I've been told it's a matter of willing them to be gone. But I think to really face my demons I have to identify the weaknesses in myself that have left open doors for them. This is hard because I was raised by charismatic Christians, taught that things like 'magic 8 balls' can "open doors." I know I'm in a constant battle with my own ego, but sometimes I can intuitively tell the difference between my own ego and outside (or inside) influences of nefarious entities. But other times i'm too blind and bound to see it. So I'm stuck in a rut now. Overwhelmed and not sure where to turn. But my will is to face them an expel them from my life for good. My free will is my own, and I will fight for it by whatever means necessary...but where to start?

No! It is important to embrace these very human emotions. To deny them only puts them off for another day. If we don't accept them they stay with us and alter our personalities (usually in a very bad way). You can't overcome jealousy or violent tendencies by walking away from them. It is only through understanding the root cause of these emotions in each of us that we can keep control of them.

Why do so many look at emotions as evil? Things like hate, anger, and fear are soooo important to us. Once we understand them they can drive us to do great things. Running away from them, however, teaches us nothing.

i admit this isnt blacknwhite
but in the past i have struck my fist to door, braking it, and i have to say it wasnt healthy for my spirit, you know, to act on it,, and i knew what caused that unpleasant feeling and it didnt matter,, there are other ways.
we do not wish to encourage so bad behaviour,,
maybe sometimes this can be good also., but i am sure you understand my point?

No deal in particular.

This issue with the demonic realm is no joking matter.

I just assumed by the title of you thread, you were talking about the real thing.

In a time long ago the phrase, "exercising his demons" meant that very thing!

However, in this day in age, it is used in an almost comical way.

It is all fun and games until you are actually faced with the real DEAL.

So I guess, in a nutshell, that be my deal
