Those guys are not liberal. Bob Beckel plays at being liberal to give FOX viewers a solid reason to hate liberals but more often than not he agrees with other FOX hosts and positions.

As one of five co-hosts on Fox’s new program the Five, Beckel is supposed to serve as foil to four conservative co-hosts. That’s the theory. In reality, Beckel more than occasionally joins his conservative counterparts. (Typically, Five panelists include former George W. Bush aide Dana Perino, Fox News Red Eye anchor Greg Gutfield, Fox legal commentator Kimberly Guilfoyle and Fox Business Network host Eric Bolling.)
For instance, when Beckel’s colleague Bolling (Five, 12/14/11) recounted how he’d kicked a representative from the Freedom From Religion Foundation (FFRF) off his Fox Business show (Follow the Money,12/12/11) for opposing the display of a nativity scene at a Texas courthouse, Beckel bluntly approved: “Good.” When Five co-host Greg Gutfield (12/9/11) compared FFRF to a woman who’d once demanded that he put out his cigarette, Beckel’s only response was, “Did you deck her?”
Discussing charges that GOP Rep. Mark Foley (Fla.) had exchanged inappropriate messages with male congressional pages (Hannity & Colmes, 10/2/06), Beckel suggested that Foley, because he’s gay, should have been kept away from pages to begin with, likening him to a notorious bank robber: “If Willie Sutton is around some place where a bank is robbed, then you’re probably going to say, ‘Willie, stay away from the robbery.’”
In the USA Today column in which Beckel likewise plays the left, regularly exchanging views with former Moral Majority executive and fellow Fox commentator Cal Thomas, Beckel (3/24/11) agreed with his right-wing counterpart that nuclear power is “a necessary component of our quest for energy independence, and it should not be abandoned no matter how horrific the scenes are coming out of Japan.”

Do you guys really fall for this stuff? There will never be a liberal host on FOX.

i would say that if one side knows its effective and uses it, the other does as well, so i would ask you the same question. for example, i think several republicans at any given time, are just democrats, keeping it real. why do i say this? because, despite the fact most of the country has been against socialism this entire time, our elected representatives still manage to vote in favor of socialist policies, be they democrats or repubs. they just debate over which socialist policy to enact next. lol

Ah another that doesn't know what Socialism is.
Socialism is worker ownership of the means of production.
Do you see any Democrat pushing for this? Nope.
Entitlements are not Socialism and sure there's a small few Republicans that don't tow the "Americans are too lazy to work and want everything handed to them" Party line but I'm hard pressed to name one.

That's all really beside my point anyway.

actually, we have marxist policies on the left and fascist policies on the right, and both of those are forms of socialsm and the top of the heap is corporate socialism and they are running the entire thing. so when it benefits them to have a marxist policy, they go with democrat and when it's more beneficial to have a fascist policy, they go with a republican. back and forth. and the majority of the country sits there scratching their heads wondering where we dropped the ball.

Please point out specifically which policies we have that are Marxist and what it is exactly that makes them Marxist. Again though, not really my point.

From what I saw in the speech, I see very little reason for Dr. Carson to be attacked by liberals. So far haven't heard a negative word.

"Liberals will hate him" = false narrative.

And ffs fascism is the exact opposite of socialism.

perhaps, you're right. i really don't want to go to all the effort to list everything and link to everything, just to have you thumb your nose at it, so i'm surrendering the argument. i've been posting on ats for years, and have learned when to just walk away from a debate. you can usually tell it's hopeless by the refusal of the person to acknowledge reality on the topic at even the most insignificant level. they will give no ground at all, and that means you have to work your butt off to prove it, only to discover they have their fingers in their ears the whole time. maybe someone else will have the energy to do so.

I'd be more than willing to meet you halfway in a different thread. I have no problem doing work in a debate, but if you mean not conceding my position on socialism and fascism as not not putting in work or debating properly then yes you're right and will be wasting your time.

We've already gone off topic and I don't want to derail Beezers thread.

let's just say that the fact you don't see any marxist policies in the usa, is evidence the conversation is pointless.

and i agree, just hand it back to beezer's op and no, i will not debate you on the subject, i'm done with that topic. like i said, i know when it's pointless. i have limited energy due to health issues and age, and people on a forum like this, can't see the haggard look on my face while having to prove stuff i know they will pretend they didn't see anyway, so yeah, i done with that.

Carson's response and defense is spot on!! Bullying in all forms has somehow become a new norm in our society. No need for anyone to tolerate it any longer. It is OK for a rational and well spoken Black Man to actually stand up to Obama... Obama is by no means untouchable..

Just a caveat. Let's take what he said instead of just who he is. Let's learn from him. Grow from what he said.

Great men are remembered in history.

But great ideas can create history.

The best Part about Mr. Carson

The liberals cant call him racist!!! We might actually get our point across now!!!! I know its a little tongue in cheek but its totally true, Carson is saying the same thing we all have been for the last five years, but because of the color of his skin, the Hate group liberals cant call us racists

hurray!!!!

Herman Cain also had great ideas. But his ideas became obscure because of a scandal.

What we need to do is not marry the idea to the man.

Dr. Ben Carson is a great guy with awesome ideas. But what the progressives will try to do is smear the man and discredit the ideas. (Herman Cain)

Oh yeah the Cain thing was bad.. I even heard some liberals call him "white republican" they just had NO idea he was black, refused to even open the blinders up...

Its ridiculous how racists the democrats are and they dont even know it!

I agree with the OP and Beezzer.

Let's take what he is saying and let's learn from him. Grow from what he said.

He is opening up the dialog. I hope others join in.

Since he has nothing in his past to use against him...I hope he has some good protection.

I saw him on Hannity last night and really liked what he was saying and the answers he was giving. Source

He gives me hope in a world that I had almost lost hope in.

I use to say that with all the history to learn from and smart people in this world you would think we would be in a better position then we find ourselves in....With more people like Dr. Carson coming forward we just might digg our butt out of the mess we currently find ourselves in worldwide.
