France has been waging war against Al-Qaeda in Mali almost all by themselves.

When America does similar there is international outrage and rampant activism by anti-war and peace-protestors, TV-Commentators, Academics and the international LEFT in general. Why is that totally lacking when France does the same? Is it because France currently has a socialist Government? Or is it only "Imperialism", "Aggression" and "Warmongering" when the USA does it? Or does the left finally see that Al-Qaeda are NOT a mere myth/conspiracy/false-flag of Israel/USA?

Well, Al-Queda is the invention of the US - so technically they're just killin US terrorists.. Let the battle continue!

Actually, Saudi Arabia requested US military aid to protect them from Afghan militants threatening their country. Bin Laden did not like the US military in Saudi Arabia. So, technically Saudi Arabia created it.

I´ll tell you where....waiting for the US to have to go in and do their Job.

Everyone can bitch all they want about the US but if we didnt do the job right someone else would have to and would do a lesser job because honestly, they are not equal to us militarily.

How many hostages did France let die when they TRIED to liberate that gas installation? You know the one where they couldnt get the insurgents out and lost people and hostages. Now France cant stomach the loss of life and the cost OR the backlash. They are looking to send in OUR people to do THEIR job.

You think the US would have failed? You think we would have lost half as many as them?

But hey. I am all for it.

The US is tired of keeping world security and stability for an ungrateful and vile society.

DO IT YOUR SELVES, and then we can sit back and reap the benefits of you spending your nations wealth and losing your people to keep our civilization going.

you are right. We are the source of all evil. I cant wait for your country to blow up our death star we built to conquer the world because we are like that.

But your dribble has a price.

When the US is not there, who is the UN and NATO going to send when an international incident happens? France, Greece? China is the only one capable...Are you going to be happy living in a world where China is policing everyone? If you ever disagree with them, just go through their system of international oversight to have your issues addressed accordingly. You know the one they will be happy to bow to the way the US does so that everyone feels equal, even though they are not.

OK.....have fun with that. We have been policing the world without a real need to for the last 70 years. Think you can do better? Think you an afford it, stomach it? OK...

THEN DO IT...

There is opposition.

With Voice Over

There is opposition, but unless you want to open you mind to french speaking vids and material you have to wait for translations.

On a personal note, I make no difference between socialist looting and imperialists invasions. Same difference. All puppets of lobbies and super rich bloody lines.

Forget about the ridiculous left - right debate it's all about tearing people apart in order not to see your real ennemy.

Peace

firstly there are plenty of right wingers who oppose american activities overseas, on ats as well as elsewhere - there is no need for a left or right political leaning to have any bearing on one's view to any countries involvement militarily abroad.
this in no way defines the left or the right, it is simply a case of who falls for the BS excuses for exploitation of other nations and the underhand methods to continue the so-called and deceptive war on terror, beit the US, france, the UK or whoever is currently the standard bearer for western governments domination and interference.
and ofc AQ is a creation of the west, then bodies abroad took ownership of the term as a rallying cry, covered in great detail on these boards amongst a wealth of other places.
as the "big guy" the US cops the flak, maybe it should be shared around a bit more, but as i read another poster state else where, and i paraphrase
"when america farts, we all have to smell it" (copy right LesMisanthrope iirc)... at present british and french farts dont have the same volume and projectile power, you just have the misfortune not to live in the eighteenth or nineteen centuries, in which case we would be in an alehouse slagging off mostly britain and france.
suck it up, sorry

are they opposed to saving their countrymen that are hostages?

Are they opposed to the natural gas THEY NEED being secured?

Are they opposed to having a world where most places are not in the hands of the strongest and most sadistic?

Bet not.

They are opposed to the US when we have to go in and do those things for them after they ask us to behind the scenes.

They are opposed to having to pay for it all. They are opposed to seeing their best and brightest die for an ungrateful world that only wants to meddle with our lives because "We meddle with everyone"

As if the US ever stopped doing what it does that your leaders wouldnt BEG for things to go back to the way they were when we were doing the dirty work. When the world was safe and open for wealth to flow to the west.

Like you wouldnt too.

Go out tonight, eat some junk food, show off your nice clothing and walk home without a care in the world. That is all free and by being so awesome it is guaranteed. You dont need the US. That is the way the world was for everyone and not just the super rich before the US assumed its international obligations.

You did that........

I am sorry, I am just tired of it. Do it yourself then. Do you have any idea what this is doing to and costing our country?

all for an ungrateful and vile world.

Greetings all,

Living in France i am going to give you a birds eye view of how things are going with the French military.

I would just like to add that i am particulary offended by some of the snide comments that have been added to this thread... especially the road map comment... The US army is NOT the only professional trained army in the world so grow up and get real please, or at least post well thought out comments that will not hurt or offend NON USA citizens!!!

So, back to my post...

The French Military have been in Mali now for over 3 weeks, they have helped to free with the Malian forces most major towns that have been taken over by Jihadist militants without killing one innocent civilian! Ok yes, bombings were carried out but targeted at non civilian zones.

The Malian president BEGGED for the international scene to come in and help them out and the French decided to do so (with of course logistic help from many countries (including the USA)). THEY ARE NOT WAGING WAR BUT HELPING!!!

For extra info, the French foreign minister has declared yesterday that all 4000 French troops will be withdrawing from Mali end of March... (SO, only 3 months to help out a country in distress), i see no war!

Stop thinking that the good old US of A are the people in the world and open up your eyes to what is going on around you... I am sorry but i am really piddled off with some people at the moment (should have put this in the rant section methinks!?)

Kindest respects

Rodinus

but it is not policing, it is corporate imperial expansion for the expoitation of resources and political control.
the wealth of the west needs large parts of the rest of the world to remain poor to maintain the standard of living that none of us in the west really need, referring particularly though not exclusively to the very rich.
if the average comfortably well of westerner took a minor hit in their standard of living (and the very rich were just rich) and that economic "spare change" went to poor areas of the world, we would all live to a comparable standard. simplified ofc, but hard to deny

The average Joe was taken down a notch as far as standard of living. Europe is living an adjustment and is practically calling for civil wars across the board.

Tell me how the perfect world works.

The average Joe was taken down a notch as far as standard of living

but waste and over consumption still define the western way of life. and also the rich continue to get richer, and the super-rich even more so, fueled by al of this conflict and expoitation.

Europe is living an adjustment and is practically calling for civil wars across the board

if you mean an economic adjustment, the common people of the whole of the west are, it is categorically not exclusive to europe. as for civil war being called for throughout europe - how so???? this is patent BS..is ATS also not ram full of US posters talking of issues relating to another civil war, a second revolution, resistance to the tyranny of their own government and so forth? of course it is.

Tell me how the perfect world works

firstly its as plain as day how the f'd up world works. the perfect world would start at remedying this, and stopping the manipulative use of patriotism, the media and fear to promote wars to further expoit the poor and tighten corporate grip on us all would be a fine start.

Ohh I'm sorry, did I offend you? Lulz

Well, ignore my "dribble" if you will, and take a look at Kissingers "dribble" -

“"Today Americans would be outraged if U.N. troops entered Los Angeles to restore order; tomorrow they will be grateful! This is especially true if they were told there was an outside threat from beyond whether real or promulgated, that threatened our very existence. It is then that all peoples of the world will pledge with world leaders to deliver them from this evil. The one thing every man fears is the unknown. When presented with this scenario, individual rights will be willingly relinquished for the guarantee of their well being granted to them by their world government."
- Henry Kissinger in an address to the Bilderberger meeting at Evian, France, May 21, 1992.

Sounds to me like the US is a disposable tool, sorry to rain on your parade.

ETA: "policing the world for the last 70 years" - More like DESTROYING the world for the last 70 years, would I want MY country to take over that role... NO.

Anyway, America is the home of internationalism, you had soon best forget your "nationalism", I'll repeat, America is a TOOL.
