Podcasting Community Faces Patent Troll Threat; EFF Wants to Help

A company called Personal Audio is claiming that it owns a patent that covers podcasting technology and has send podcasters letters, demanding that they pay Personal Audio to use the technology. As with many patents, this one is dangerously broad and vague, allegedly covering, well, any and all podcasting

Taking a page from apple playbook some patent trolls are claiming that all podcasting falls under their patent. Using vague terms they can even claim that ATS podcasts are under their patent. They have been sending letters out to podcasters like howstuffworks demanding they pay to use podcasting technology. Eff wants your help. More at the source: EFF.
