This is just wrong. It's no wonder so many nations despise the US. With no declaration of war, we should not be there... anywhere fighting against our enemies in a Sovereign country.
I'm Not pro Obama, in fact I feel he's probably now to date the worst President we have ever had. It will take years to undo all the shredding to our Constitution that has happened, and that he intends to do. It's even scary to think that in some way he might retain leadership of the United States beyond his term of office.
Born in the 50's, I have seen a lot of change, and after Regan, I believe we have not had an honest or reputable man in office.

Our future here in the US is looking bleak at the rate Obama is dismantling our Constitutional liberties and substituting his own agenda. Do the Democrats who support him not see these offenses?

Every day another attack or word of an executive order seems to whittle away at Americans freedoms. Will we someday be as repressed as the citizens of China.....?

Like everything in the world of "profits and greed" the technology is a great idea for those that will benefit financially the most.

This technology if going on the mainstream will be run by private entities not the government like they are now.

Anybody can purchase this technology as they are for sale.

Sadly is plenty of information telling that this technology is neither safe or reliable.

Does anybody listen? not when profits are to be made.

What to say, the unmanned aircraft flew just over my head, very, very low, a couple of years ago, or sooner. I was on my balcony to smoke a cigarette... The big one, maybe, 30 meters wide aircraft, or, even wider... Lighter color, almost white... No missile attack...

Yes, my father was a highly decorated Special Forces green beret. If you googled his name, you'd see loads of rather interesting information regarding covert missions with the CIA in Cambodia and other places far beyond the "official war" within the borders of Vietnam.

I don't doubt you. What I am asking is would your father want our country to be idle while the MB gains power in the world?

This is simple...I believe in the Constitution as it was originally intended and written. Not the current laws which have been bastardized to enrich/empower the government or meet a political agenda. The original foundation of this country was built to empower the PEOPLE. Government existed in a limited form and was NOT the "end all, be all." Yes, this is a different era but if you believe the purpose of the Government is to provide COMPLETELY for your entire safety, well-being, and security, then you have chained yourself without even knowing it.

I thoroughly agree. What I am saying is is exactly what you say here:

Never forget that the lines as you seem them today are far from clear. It is well-known that the US/CIA supported the mujaheddin in Afghanistan against the Russians. The US government acts under its own agenda for power and money. The US Military follows orders it is given because that is the nature of the military. I support and respect the US Military, but I do NOT respect agendas by politicians and political committees who direct and control that same military for their own selfish purposes.

Now, your father being a GB would be the first to tell you that we supported a lot of people who didn't get background checks so we could use them as proxies. He would be the first to tell you this because that is the primary function of a GB.

The US government does act for its own agenda. Oftentimes this involves acquiring money, because we do take a lot of countries under our wing. It is beneficial to get a return on both sides. We also provide humanitarian support to countless places.

What we are discussing here is a symbiotic relationship. The service members want to help people (well, the ones that belong there anyways) and the politicians want to further an agenda. We have to change our politicians. You see in both the Senate and the House, people who have simply been in the political game for too long. Many of them are not looking to protect our constitution, which they swear to do. We need a changing of the guard.

But as far as drone strikes on American-born terrorists? I just don't see the issue with this. I need to see a misuse of the policy. As you pointed out - " Never forget that the lines as you see them today are far from clear. " A google search would show that many have been brainwashed by Islamic extremists even in America. The lines are blurred, and we are fighting a war. Sometimes there is not time to put traitors on trial in war. It is not right, but neither is war.

I think our government has done an amazing job compared to what other governments would have done in our position. Let's put it in perspective. It is not easy.

I agree, change needs to be made, and I don't mean we need a Hispanic or Asian president next (although I wouldn't care if they were).

This is wrong. Plain and simple wrong.

By your sickening attempts at defending these blatantly tyrannical policies I consider you complicit in the murder of all these people by drone strikes.

Your disgusting authoritarian servitude and sycophancy towards the U.S. government and it's heinous actions is shameful.

You are certainly no patriot and you spit upon the values of which your country was founded. No doubt you would sell out your own neighbours or even your own friends and family just to try and ingratiate yourself with the government or to satisfy your own paranoia all so you can feel safe.

And you have the nerve to sit behind your keyboard applauding this...you coward.

I love America and Americans, but what you propound is more akin to Nazi Germany.

I am all for differences of opinion and I would never call for those with different views than my own to be silenced but I think you are either truly brainwashed, a troll or you are genuinely some government agent.

Everyone is a potential terrorist to them AS IT SHOULD BE. Have you noticed they have done a good enough job that people are trying to say that Al Queda does not even exist!? Have any of your loved ones been snatched up yet? Chill out, they are doing their JOB - PROTECTING YOU.

I'm truly sorry to hear this reply from you. It changes my impression of what you stand for.
I am conservative and T Party, but there is no justification for drone strikes on American citizens without due process. I am truly sorry you don't see the slippery slope with this, with NDAA, and with the PATRIOT ACT. I do believe that terrorism is very real, but it is still NO justification for the govt treating American citizens as the enemy, and especially for doing it as a general policy with few specifications to narrow down what it means to be associated with so-called terrorist groups. Remember that little snot Pelosi, and Janet Napolitano called American Tea Party Patriots enemies and threats to national security. Do you remember what Judge Napolitano said after that? I agreed with his stance on the subject.

edit on 6-2-2013 by ThirdEyeofHorus because: (no reason given)

I do see what you are saying. I understand that we are engaging an enemy that is evil and will use any means necessary to kill Americans. If a terrorist happens to have American citizenship and be in the US I do not see what the big deal is with killing them before they kill many. If we have a chance to arrest and put them on trial, we surely will. I have not heard of a misuse of the policy yet.

I completely agree that our government has overstepped their bounds, and I do not necessarily agree with any of these policies as a whole. However, more important than the policy is how is it being implemented? Why is it being implemented and is it succeeding in the goal it seeks to achieve?

Is it in line with the constitution?

I do agree that these policies are not fully in line with the constitution. Their original intent was good, and the wording needs to be changed. However, if you are an terrorist with American citizenship on American soil - you are STILL a terrorist.

Do you have any evidence of misuse of any of these aforementioned policies? Leave the patriot act out of this, I completely disagree with that policy because the wording was intentionally vague. That is in fact unconstitutional but a different topic.

The military-industrial complex is the enemy, as well as big business in general. Nevermind masonry, illuminati, satanism, and all the occult mysteries. Eisenhower warned about it 50 years ago yet here we are and the majority still cannot figure it out.

Trust me everything else is minor. Communism collapsed and only a complete idiot would think otherwise. Sure russia has done its fair share of imperialism this century, and western european nations in the past centuries. But we are talking about the *here and now* of a nation that needs to raise its debt limit continously to avoid bankruptcy and millions of americans on unemployment and/or welfare.

Military bases outside of america should be abandoned, the soldiers come home, cut down the armed forces by 33%, cut down on the DOD black budget, raise tariffs, cut down on capital gains tax to 25% from 39%, put a moratorium on first house foreclosures while increasing the payback period and lowering the interest rates to people who qualify, strip some of the interstate commerce laws that are redundant or unnecessary, etc. Plenty of things can be done to jump start the economy if that was the goal, but I am pretty sure it is not the goal. The goal is to sink america, sink the piigs, install world currency, install rfid chips, install world government run by megarich folks living their wetdreams.

9-11-2001 was mossad-cia job. Not saying alqueda does not exist or that they did not want to attack america, I am saying who actually did attack america. Who wants to attack america and who actually does attack america are two different things, aren't they?

I get tired of breaking things down to fifth grade level while being ignored and preaching to the choir. Heck I will keep at it though. Sooner or later everyone can win the lottery if they play often enough and keep going at it like martin schorchese(johnie walker commercial).

The policy is wrong for the following reasons.

1. It has the potential for massive collateral damage to innocent civilians.
2. It is in our Constitution that no citizen is to be tried without a fair trial.
3. The policy is in direct defiance the constitution, which in and of itself is to be frowned upon, but with this policy the gov. could basically label anyone a terrorist and kill them with or without proof.

Also I must say, with Obama now weeding out the honest military leaders that will not fire on civilians, it must make one wonder why is he pushing for gun/ammo restrictions. The only plausible reason, in my mind, is that he wants to be able to weaken civilians and exert more control over us. This policy is yet another good reason to question Obama as a person.

Big business is a problem. The military has to implement change, but what kind? We can not allow the enemies of the free world to gain more power. There are problems in the military that will fix themselves because it is profitable to do so, the prison industry is a whole different story. They have no profit to gain from fixing that problem on the PRIVATE side of things. As far as the tax payers go it would be very profitable, but when we discuss things we must discuss them as they are. It is not profitable for "them" to fix the prison system.

Enemies of freedom still exist and will gain power if we do not stop them. Do you need examples? As far as bankruptcy and welfare, once again that is a problem we can thank major corporations for.

To put it simply, no. The goal of the MB is a one world Islamic government. You do know that right? Same with China, they would love to run the world. The reason for the financial strain has more to do with business practices and our criminal justice system than the completely necessary military bases OS. We are the ones standing in the way of a one world government. We are a superpower that stands for freedom; do not forget what that means in this chaotic and deceptive world. You haven't been indefinitely detained yet. In China they would have just killed you. Here in America we fight terror and seek peace. In some other countries they almost stand for terror, and would to take over the world.

9-11-2001 was mossad-cia job. Not saying alqueda does not exist or that they did not want to attack america, I am saying who actually did attack america. Who wants to attack america and who actually does attack america are two different things, aren't they?

I have no idea what happened there. I have heard the official story, and I have hear what conspiracy theorists have found. I bet the truth is in the middle. I surely don't know it, but I do know our government did not perpetrate it. Cover it up? Maybe. Mass murder perpetrated by our own CIA? F*ck no.

I do not like the idea of it, but I would like to see someone cite a misuse of the policy.

As far as constitutional goes, if you are a terrorist you forfeit your American citizenship imo. There is no just thing as an American terrorist, only an American-born terrorist.

You have to consider why the policy was implemented in the first place.

Now you bring up the very important question of what is a terrorist and can the govt. just label people as terrorists who are not looking to cause terror?
That is the meat of it. I do not know the intricacies of it, but suffice to say I bet they left it vague.

America and russia has attacked many more countries then nazi germany ever did and killed way more people too. Get real man! Just because the nazi cause has been distorted and demonised to death does not mean it is worse than capitalism.

Nationalism Socialism is exactly what we need! Get the #ing foreigners out of my country! And bring back the troops to defend america rather than defend the scumbag king of saudi arabia or the prince of the united arab emirates. They can either defend themselves or perish. I could not care less when america is sinking from each angle.

And we need socialism to defend ouselves from the fraudulent "self made" billionares who think they own america and everyone owes them. I don't own them a red penny. They owe me!

Nationalism + Socialism = (drum roll) facism or nazism without all the extra sensationalism. Trust me america and russia have killed millions more. So has britain and france with their colonial wars of the last 300 years, at least that much. People have short memories!

May I ask what the billionaires owe you? The problem with america is people vote incapable politicians into office simply because those politicians promise "free" items to the masses. We do not need to spread around wealth so everyone is happy. If people would get off the couch and make a living this nation would be better off, but why work when such and such politician promises to give you freebies if you give your vote.
