Not for the public man. Just think about it for a second. If I wanted to look at australia, and you wanted to look at the U.S. how would the satelite
be able to show both of us those places live. Another thing, you can't really control where the satelite is, so even if you had your own satelite and
you wanted live pictures of the U.S. and the satelite was over China, you can't just hit a button and make it fly on over there (or at least to my
knowledge; anyone who knows otherwise, please tell me if I'm wrong) you would have to wait until the orbit went over the U.S.

NASA also has a similar program called World Wind, available here.
I like that as you zoom in, the "source" of what you're seeing changes. So you have different satelite feeds, then zoom in to different USS topo
maps, and sccn toggle between sat images and the topos.

Yea I use World Wind too. I like it a lot. First of because it's free
One question though, and does anyone know how to fix this, but only the U.S. works when zooming in to see cities. Whenever I try zooming in to see
some place in Africa or wherever, no cities come up.

I think it is because of server problems. It says so on the NASA website. They are trying to find a solution to the problem so that WW will download
images for other parts of the world too.

Does anyone know if World Wind is real time? Or does it display images from a previous date? I'm thinking back to August when we had an object in
the sky over Minneapolis. It was in the sky all day. Would World Wind have been able to focus in on something like that?
Oops - sorry, I see there is a thread on World Wind.....

Keyhole
There is another reason It's called Keyhole...
It has to do with the motorized movement of the Dishes on the ground.
When a bird is making a 90degree pass, the Dish starts looking at one horizon,
follows the bird all the way up to 90 degrees, then TURNS, like turning a key, which then allows it to then follow the bird down to the opposite
horizon..
A KEYHOLE PASS...is what we used to call it...
There was always some concern over "cable wrap" when this happened..
You don't the Dishes to turn the same way more than once, or...you stand a chance of disconnection, or breaking the cables...
Just thought you might like to know....CARRY ON!

I keyed in 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue, and predictably enough, the roof of the white house and executive buildings were masked out.
Obviously to prevent anyone from checking out the security arrangements.
Lets keep track here folks.
keyhole software
chipping technology
antennaes on retail products
2000 cameras in Chicago
cellular phone tracking
all that is left is the hidden camera in the tv that is always on.
anything sound familiar?
