I'm of the opinion that fat people should pay higher taxes. Especially now that ObamaCare has kicked in. The reasoning is simple: they consume more resources on average than everyone else.

They take up more space on public transportation.
They contribute slightly more to wear and tear on roads and public sidewalks.
They cause public elevators and escalators to expand more energy to move them the same distance.
Most importantly, they drive up the cost of healthcare for everyone else.

In fact I think people who choose to live unhealthy lifestyles of any kind should have to pay more for public healthcare, since they are the ones using more of those resources. I choose not to smoke, I choose to control my diet, and live a relatively healthy lifestyle. As a result I rarely if ever need a doctor visit. Why should I pay the same in taxes for ObamaCare as people in the same tax bracket who don't make healthy lifestyle choices?

I hope you're taking into consideration that fat people are already paying higher taxes. At least fat people by your definition. Their clothes cost more, they consume more food, they don't get as good of gas mileage and they visit the doctor more often. This means that they pay more sales tax, food tax, gas tax and co-pays to the doctors than any "normal" malnourished person.

However this is your stereotype of a fat person. If you actually did some research into why some people are heavy you probably wouldn't be saying that. I'm 5'8" 210lbs, I eat 1350 calories a day and work out 3-4 times a week. I'm still fat and you think I should be charged extra taxation because I don't practice healthy habits. Seriously think and analyze your lifestyle and you'll understand that you may have a more active lifestyle than others. I have to sit all day because of my job which means I'm burning less calories a day than someone who stands at a register all day. Even more less than the average carpenter etc. I think they should come up with asshat tax. Anyone I think is an asshat should get extra taxation because they cause undue stress on others around them causing in premature death.......

I don't buy your 1350 calories claim.
Calroies in > calories burned = gain weight
Calories in < calories burned = lose weight
Your body will break down hydrocarbons (fat) releasing energy from the molecular bonds and excrete the byproducts as waste.
You realize that what you are claiming violates conservation of energy.

Then it would seem that my body lies to me. Along with all the calories I've been counting for untold months to lose the weight from 250 to 210 lbs. See the problem is I've reached a point where I'm not losing anymore weight. You don't have to buy my 1350 calorie claim. I use an app called fitnesspal to help track my calories and I can tell you unless the app is severely flawed I'm eating roughly 1350 calories a day. In actuality by virtue of my argument for calorie burn during work as a sitting vs standing etc I believe I've fulfilled the requirements of explaining conservation of energy and don't subscribe to any wild claims that I burn a million calories a day but survive on 1300. Some people store fat, water etc for different reasons. If I eat like crap because the only foods I can afford are nutritiously void and full of pesticides it doesn't matter how much I work out. I will still be "fat". BTW 210 lb muscular person can be thinner than a 190lb fat person so by weight calculations alone your argument of moving weight etc is void.

More tax isnt the answer. Government needs to be more responsible with the tax money they already take from us. The money to handle EVERYTHING is already there, its just not being handled correctly. People need to stop falling for this divisive crap, stop turning on each other (which is what They want) and stay focused on the real problem. The government takes the money I work for. I have no say in it. Then every year they orchestrate a refund which some people actually see as "extra money" or some kind of treat. It was your money to begin with, they're not doing something nice for you! Why should anyone pay more?

I see people bitch about child support scammers and "welfare queens" spending money on hair and nails and such because "that's not what the money is for", but when the government wastes/steals/misuses the money THEY TAKE FROM US, the answer is "blank should pay more taxes" followed by the singling out of people who are different than you. More than enough for everyone to be able to see doctors and dentists if it weren't being pissed away to further the agendas of a handful of people.

Same answer for gov't as for welfare abusers.... Cut em off! If April 15 came and NO ONE paid or filed, it would send a message and they can't arrest everyone. We turn on each other and they're free to do what they want while we're distracted.

I think mean people should pay higher taxes....way higher. Being a total douche bag should cost you and cost you dearly. People that think fat people should pay higher taxes are super douchey and should be taxed accordingly. And no, I'm not fat. In fact I am quite sexy in my leopard tights and tight pink muscle shirt...with high heeled boots of course. Embrace absurdity beotches!

I'm 6'2" and range between 230-250 lbs. according to the BMI chart I am moderately obese. I should weigh 175 lbs to be at the low side of a heathy BMI around 24. The chart of course is absurd. At 230 lbs I am about 18% body fat. Anything under 20% is decent and 15% is ideal. Under 10% is not healthy. Anorexics who love to be in the single digits on body fat can kiss their liver and kidneys adios in their 50s. Can't help it I'm built like a Mack truck.

I know a guy who's a vegan, he has to go to the doc for B12 shots, folate replacement, and can't hold on to intrinsic factor. He swears his lifestyle is so healthy. He looks like a cancer patient, and passes out while jogging about once a month. I can outrun him, out distance him, and lift almost three times his body weight. I never go to the doctor, and he lives there. But I should be taxed because an arbitrary chart that disregards muscle mass, and body composition says I'm obese. OP should go into politics, he has the chops for ignoring common sense and embracing delusion.

Do you really think it's fair to tax one bad habit while ignoring others? Do you think there is anyone in the world who lacks a vice of one kind or another?

Do you chew your nails? Smoke? Drink? Look at pornography? Do you use illicit drugs?

Is it fair to tax neuroses? Do you understand that vices are coping strategies?

Everyone should have their DNA analyzed so people that have the potential for costly diseases, more than what is considered normal, to also pay higher taxes. People who drink cokes and what not should pay higher taxes. Do you eat red meat? You should pay higher taxes.

Have you rear ended or caused a car wreck?? You should pay more taxes. Do you have a speeding ticket? You should pay higher taxes.

Are you in a low income family? You should pay higher taxes because your children run the most risk at being unhealthy.

Do you work at a desk for most of the day? You should pay higher taxes, health risk increases.

If the government really wanted to raise revenue they should tax stupid people.

Smarter people most likely are more productive and contribute to society more so they should pay less where stupid inbred people should pay more because they suck more off the system.

What exactly would one be coping with if they smoke or drink or look at porn?
Certainly not coping with society...

Nothing you have listed here is paid by the government, apart from healthcare and you have no proof they cause any wear on the sidewalks at all.

Maybe you should stop voting for Obama if you are so worried about your countries finances. Just saying

If you are going to ask fat people to pay higher taxes you may as well throw in stupid people, risk takers, people who work dangerous jobs, and any number of other groups. This post is pure discrimination against a group of people you dislike. Nothing more.

What you're telling me with these questions is that you don't examine the human condition. There are a lot of very sad, very lonely people out there. Vices fill a void that, in their lives, can be filled no other way.

You may believe they should find "healthy" alternatives and, again, I ask who are we to dictate to others what they can and cannot do with their lives?

Freedom is the one thing we all yearn for in this world and it is the one thing we consistently deny each other.

Live and let live. If my neighbor wants to eat potato chips and smoke cigarettes I'm going to let him if that gives him peace of mind.

I don't mind paying more for the privilege of living in a free country if it means my neighbor is also free.

How many toys do you have? How big is your house? How many cars do you own? Do you really need everything you have?

Stop judging or be judged. This isn't about religion either. It's about the freedom to enjoy life, which for many people isn't that great anyway.

How happy are you? Are you happy all the time, or is life mostly crummy with a few happy moments here and there?

Is it really any of my business? No.

It's time for Americans to mind their own business, internationally and domestically.

I'm pretty sure they describe driving a car as taking a risk. But don't we already pay preposterous amounts just to drive a car that WE bought? I mean, you buy a car, then suddenly you have to pay taxes on it. Get it registered, get a plate, get insurance... damn.... So many stipulations just to get to work... Some BS!!
