Top Gear began as a BBC Midlands Regional programme produced in Birmingham (The heart of the British motor industry) back in the 1970's. It was a fantastic series which was always about "The Cars". Then Clarkson got on board the last few years it was produced by BBC Midlands. It went downhill from then on.

It still beats the pants off the American version imo.
I'll take the bbc any day although they have apparently strayed a bit.

It has been for a couple of years now but I think this series shows they're just in it for the money , TV by numbers ... sad but all good things come to an end .

after a while things become stale and changes need to be made from time to time to keep things interesting.

also there are only so many new cars built every year. i still love the show and the direction its going. its become more varied with different elements to keep it from going stale.

i mean how many Ferrari's and Aston martins can you test drive for so many seasons without it getting boring?

i still think there is no better chemistry on a car related program on tv than these guys, you can have them review a can opener for gods sake and id still tune in

i think its funny and entertaining.
if you want to know the mpg and luggage space of the latest rep' mobile, the youre probably a bit boring.
i'd rather see 3 idiots driving supercars.

I could not agree more! I still chuckle at some of the episodes though. *The BBC episodes*
