all dimensions need the others except dimension 1. Dimension 1 is light.

"Let there be light". There was/is a presence prior to the light.

Dimension 1: A point
Dimension 2: A line
Dimension 3: A box, the solid
Dimension 4: Time, motion
Dimension 5: Choice

Then there are 5 more.

Wrong

Can't they just name them as what they are instead of giving them a number.

They did. They are called the "x,y,z axis" and "time".

Whoa! The mind is so confused!

The concept of "dimension" comes from our classifications of our perception. Without perception and division we would not have a concept of dimension. It's like the story of flatlander, where their only perception is in a two dimensional plane. For them, the distinction is only left and right, front and back.

As humans, this creates problems for us in terms of thinking processes. We define things using language, and then language becomes our definition of the world. The idea of "thinking out of the box", comes from the concept of thinking outside the constraints of logical processes. Unfortunately, language in this case, becomes a boundary for our own existence - humans think with their language, and therefore language shapes their thoughts.

Esoterically speaking, why was it so important to give "things" names or to "name" god who remained nameless (I am who I am). Because language, names, create thoughts and through thoughts we create both control and are controlled.

It is hard to conceive of in the western world, but among several south pacific islander groups, their language does not have any word or reference to the concept of time. One can see where this came from in terms of a linguistic evolution - because things were so slow, unchanging, and consistent, the need to describe the condition of something NOW vs LATER never arose, and as a result NOW and LATER are not thought concepts they internalize. For them, they are thinking only in "3 dimensions". This extends further to other linguistic quirks where some groups have no concept of lines and only planes - although they think in "3 dimensions" in the classical term, they have no concept of 2 dimensionality.

To expand this discussion even further, why are we limiting our concept of perceived dimensions to time and space only, what about thinking of "color" in terms of a dimension? We know that color is on a linear scale, and that it can be used to describe anything, we have a perception of it, why isn't it being used as a measurement (vibratory state, resonance, temperature, etc...). Thus when describing a point, the point could be a red point or a blue point or any variation in between.

The point to all this being, if you continue to think in language, language is going to control your thoughts - even the concept of "dimensionality" is a language construct which is shaping the discussion - why is this something which can/needs/is enumerated?

The mind ties itself up in knots with it's own ideas. And awareness just watches silently amused.

One is amused. Two is confused.

If it is in reference to 'light' - it would be.

What we need is some sort of app!

One that takes your gps location as a 3d point in space and using some sort of trig magic creates a 2d grid reference to which you can query some sort of online database that is kept up to date with the correct corresponding named reference of the object queried.

So we can use it on our phones to tell us where we are in real time. So if we accidentally shift dimensions, we can have it alert us.

If we get all the people in New Zealand to use it, when they zap across to the west again we'll know !

I just laughed and laughed but on reflection this comes to mind, 'wrong' (nothing more) as a reply just comes across as ignorant arrogance.
I do not wish to offend, it is just what it looks like to me and you did ask.
Sorry.

The best thing to do is to start out with the infinite dimension.

The infinite dimension (space) is the very first one. This dimension houses all other dimensions.

All solid dimensions must be at least 3D. Becuase they exist within the infinite dimension (space).
They will have: h, l, and w. Within a larger space.

You will never find a solid that is 2D. Where either l, h or w are missing.

A three dimensional objects can have a shape that gives it more dimesions " more sides".

There is just an interface.
A screen with the image of now appearing. It looks 3D but is it really?
The screen of awareness is seeing and knowing movement.

Well i can move within this screen. And i can stand on a"plain" (ground) and see my surroundings. I can see depth. I can move arround pysical objects, but not through them. It feels very real.

I know that our reality is much like a movie. Because our universe is expanding and changing day by day.

I was just wondering if you were laughing with me or at me.

You say I'm being ignorant, but it really was wrong what he said. The first dimension is not a point, it's a line. So maybeyou are ignorant for calling me ignorant . Just throwing that out there. But I probably am arrogant so

Do you ever move though? Or is that just an asumption?
When you are driving in a car are you moving or is the scenery moving?
You are always still in your experience if you take the trouble to notice. The enviroment moves and changes but you are always in the centre not moving, not changing.

That's a good summary from a bunch of different sources.

After 5 you get into string theory 6-10 and M theory.
I think M theory is the 11th dimension that is being discussed now.
The 11th holding together the 10th .. holding it all ..
something like that.

(I was just looking at all this stuff yesterday on google ... )

Both of you are actually wrong.

Look at this image and tell which dimension is the first one?
