Tens of thousands of postal ballots have gone missing in the state of Florida, sparking fresh fears of irregularities in the US poll campaign.

I am amazed that this is happening!

The US postal service inspectorate said it was highly unlikely that 58,000 pieces of mail had just disappeared.

A spokesman said inspectors were trying to establish whether the ballots were ever delivered to the postal service.

Disputes over Florida voting 2 elections in a row. This certainly does not give me much confidence in the voting system currently in place and the new voting machines do not seem to be doing thee job to well. Is this election going to turn in to nothing more than a legal battle in court?

I fail to see your logic....A) How can you tell someone is black by their name? B) The ballots were BLANK and could easily be replaced or even in an extreme case the person could go to PLENTY of other places to get another ballot...and C) sounds mighty fishy...Democrats already have 9 pre-emptive law suits...then days later ballot go missing?...and you think its a republican thing?...

Problems with the machines:

Oct. 27, 2004 The state of California has ordered that 15,000 brand new touch-screen voting machines not be used in next week's presidential election.

These electronic machines were manufactured by Diebold Inc., a North Canton, Ohio-based company that also specializes in automated teller machines and electronic security.

Of course we would have wished the situation would not have happened, but it did," Rapke told ABC News. "There was back up available. But again, with additional familiarity with the system, again, this problem would not have happened."

But a former Diebold technical worker, James Dunn, told ABC News the company was aware of the software and electronic problems before the election, and never reported them.

"The machine would lock up or lose its software load. A very uncommon thing and not a good thing," said Dunn. "And once that machine's locked up you're unable to produce voter cards, which means you're unable to open the election voting machine and people can't vote. But they shipped it anyway."

It appears the machines also have poor security.

That moron Jeb and his cronies have had four years to fix the voting system in florida. It doesnt bode well for America when we have schmucks for a govenor, who in turn has a smuck for a brother, that happens to be our president. Bush's own brother cant get the voting system fixed. well, I guess they are related, Bush has had four years to "fix the world", and he just leaves broken promises and shattered nations in his wake.
