A Journal Sentinel investigation found the agency ran an operation for 10 months in 2012 marred by mistakes and failures. Guns were stolen from an
agent's car, burglars made off with $35,000 in merchandise from the store, agents left a sensitive document at the store when they closed the
storefront and in at least three cases the wrong person was charged. In one case, the ATF sought charges against a man who was in prison at the time -
on an earlier ATF case.
Hot on the tail of Fast and Furious the ATF sets up shop to draw a bunch of thieves and drug dealers to Milwaukee by paying a premium for drugs,
weapons and other contraband.
A premium so high that people were lawfully buy a firearm from legitimate retailers only to sell to the ATF at a profit.
