There will never be a utopic one world government under democratic rule, at least not in the near future. It would be under totalitarianism. People are too different in ideologies and view for it to be otherwise. You can stick your idea of a one world government where the sun don't shine, because I don't want the pipedream you are trying to sell.

Any attempt to try and force this to happen will result in WWIII and you can rest assured that if that does happen there will not be a world left after worth ruling over as a "leader". Star Trek is fiction, not reality. The only thing that can have an affect of making anyone on this world work as one is through an outside threat such as an alien invasion. Even that would only allow for cooperation for as long as the threat existed.

There's a flaw in this reasoning in that secession would divert federal taxation back torward the state to make up for the lost federal funds.

That's not to say that there aren't outstanding issues, especially providing for a common defense against foreign invasion, that would still need to be addressed.

That is correct. There were a majority of white males who owned land back then. There is still a majority of whites who own land here today. That is as God intended it to be. And he also added to that list of land owners many strangers who now have become citizens and own land. The constitution protects tham all. If anything, this should tell you how God blessed and loves the people he gave this land to and their decendants. Woe unto the people who want to take away his blessings. He will deal with them shortly.

Pretty much how its defined. Wanting stuff for us regardless of who or what it hurts/destroys/etc and only thinking of our specific unique prosperity, even if it means burning the village so to speak.
Examples: I want lower taxes, benefits, health care, gated community, a high paying job, 2 cars, no regulations, cheap food, cheap electronics, cheap electricity to run my 300 lights in my house at all times, the latest ipad, etc etc etc...to infinity and beyond.

People will continue voting because they honestly believe that we still live in the same United States that our forefathers founded.

They do. the one aspect of the union that holds true is that people have a voice in electing their politician, then they push their politicians forward.
Money, sadly, is power..and power tends to rule..see, unless the media went commercial free and was run by tax dollars alone, then corporate TV will sell their point of view in order to remain on the air..the people buy it, and then side in with it...suddenly their ideals become ours.
But, in the end, we still have the final say...its just..preprogrammed.

Regardless of how you view the nation..this is a nation built by the citizens within. The final result may not be what is desired to some/many, but that is ultimately what a democratic republic will transition into...aka, you can't please them all the time.

in 2005ish, the right was all about how America was just the bee's knees and the left was trying to figure out how to saw off the west coast and become their own nation. Now new political leaders, new views, and role switch...

Secession will not happen..tried in 1860s and failed miserably..and that's when there was a pretty strong desire amongst the southern states...now, only the fringe types sitting in the dark are discussing it in any serious notion. Most of the far right "sane" ones here understand its about working the system within and give up this crazy talk of a few handfuls of people wanting to snip off a chunk of the states...might as well be demanding the government genetically recreate dinosaurs..would be far more likely to happen.

NAFTA was at the time cheered on...the concept of uniting north America into a great trade was thought to be bringing all sorts of new opportunity. It took awhile, but the experiment didn't show the results many believed would happen.

as far as GATT...bit before my time. but since the late 40s, American economics have become a powerhouse..so clearly it did something right. If our poor is living like a king compared to 3rd world areas...then something works well enough. Not saying perfect mind you..but I think to write it off as a complete negative is nieve.

Did you know Patrick Henry didn't sign the Constitution because, as he put it, he "smelled a rat"? In hind sight its almost as if he knew that rat would procreate repeatedly over the next couple hundred years and the growing rat pack would gradually overrun DC.

I could not agree more. Those rungs in the ladder to enlightenment are missing and while we have a good idea as to who was involved, it has to be totally ferreted out and made public knowledge from within. If everyone demanded the truth on this, it would certainly happen.

You see, this revealing of the coup de tat has already happened online in cyberspace, a place where people can freely tell their truth without being censored or simply killed to be shut up. Well that's an amazingly simplistic way of viewing it anyhow.

Good trade between nations is the foundation of success from top down. the key though is good trade. Regulation is needed when dealing with a country that is poor and/or has no worker standards. As elitist as it may sound..rich nations should only buy from other rich nations. When a rich nation and a poor nation come together for trade, under the current form of capitalism, there are typically only losers with a few winners banking on both sides.
