And in this country you can be imprisoned for growing and possessing a plant. People do stupid things everywhere. What's your point?

Muslim countries imprisoning people for criticizing Islam is justified because Americans get imprisoned for growing drugs?

Is that your argument? Seriously?

Your logic doesn't bear scrutiny.

do you have an opinion on the supposed march besides "islam does not like free speech"?

The poll also found 40 percent of Muslims in America believe they should not be judged by U.S. law and the Constitution, but by Shariah standards. Read more at www.wnd.com...

Someone needs to put these 40% Muslims on a list for deportation. I'm sure they will be among the other Muslims who will be gathering in front of the White House in September. If they want Sharia law go back home where you came from. Don't come here and try to change our way of life.

The question should be asked before granting any Muslim citizenship in the United States.

then that would be a total of 240 people you would be deporting (if we are going to be picky about things), which i am sure would make you feel a lot safer.

here's something else i picked out from the wnd article..

This poll does nothing

but i'm just having a little fun there.. there is more though..

What is surprising is that the percentage of those who oppose free speech isn’t higher. But probably many of the respondents already know better than to say what they really think to non-Muslim pollsters

so we have a journalist who is trying to provide evidence in a scientific manner via examining poll results (thats how i worked out the 240 figure above btw) then completely changing tack and adding pure conjecture, he decides the figures are not high enough for his liking so makes up a reason (i use the term loosely) for this. is he invalidating the poll, or just his position as a journalist? why cant he make his mind up, he really seems confused.

and the wonderfully named

Walid Shoebat, who “used to be a radicalized Muslim willing to die for the cause of jihad” before he adopted Christianity in 1994, was a member of the PLO and was recruited to plant a bomb in Bethlehem. The author of ”God’s War on Terror” told WND it is not right that Muslims have a “double standard.”
He said to be fair, any Muslim who “says the Bible is corrupt or the Christians corrupted the Bible” should be penalized in the way they want to punish Christians who mock or ridicule Muhammad.

seems he needs a little more education on christianity from his friends at wnd, didnt "an eye for an eye" get replaced with "offer the other cheek" by mr christ? seems it's ok for him to have a double standard though

you say that you feel that muslims have a barbaric intent to take over the US, and yet you seem to acknowledge that they are by default defending the US constitution?

is it possible that the propoganda and programming that you have been subjected is playing on some of your prejudices or fears and producing this internal struggle?

1. Peaceful protest are definitely the American way, even the skin heads are allowed to spread their poison. At the same time, if American Muslims wish to enjoy the rights given to them by our forefathers they need to adopt a more tolerable attitude towards the opposition; we Americans always have to put our 2 cents in.

2. American propaganda, Muslim propaganda, Zionist propaganda.... seeing a trend here yet? I can go on if you like.

hey, it's a debate, so feel free to go on, obviously..

you did seem to miss out or ignore what i said in the very same post though

from my own POV, i can understand that a minority group wishes to protest/display their feelings in a united manner, and of course there are precedents for this happening, though seeing as they seem to have chosen 9/11 (i have not followed the link or looked for other sources re this story!) for this protest it does seem provocative and somewhat crass...
perhaps if they had chosen that date to show unity with the US people and publicly mourn the loss of life then they would garner more support, but then i guess that does not make a news grabbing headline for a network

i'm not overly sure if we are agreeing or not?

ETA: for clarity's sake, i should point out that my thumbs down actually came at the end of the excerpt i just posted, not where it appeared in your excerpt, just sayin

I don't know about all the other pictures they are very graphic, but the bottom one? I've been thinking of burning old glory myself lately. :shk:

Me thinks this convoluted world of insane division is just making me want to go out west in the desert and disengage from society. Put er in idle and wait.

We are the sons and daughters of God. All of us.. We all feel the same gripping fear deep down inside the haunted loss of every loved one friend and enemy we end up burying until one day after losing most of the people you love, we will finally be interned ourselves. We are all in this human condition.

If they are living in america they are getting their voice heard,But although your voice can be heard its also the other persons right to not listen. It seems to me they want to be granted the right to make you listen even if you do not want to hear it.

So they are not happy we cannot all get what we want. They are asking for special treatment no matter what you say. And yes that means im not going to argue with you since its pointless to do so. even if i had proof of my views you would deny it.

They never said anything about Sharia law but Freedom of Speech. If they are Americans they should have every right to it just as any other American regardless of faith. And if someone performs hate crimes against them shouldn't they be prosecuted?

Good on them. I do have a low expectation in getting 9/11 properly and officially investigated as it will be very upsetting to the current US political, economic, military and other corporate structures. There are also a lot of other groups around trying to push for this as well, but it all helps. If the US does decent into a civil war as the economy stuffs up then there is a better chance for a real 9/11 investigation as things will be a mess anyway.

sorry for posting this that I saw in another thread, but it seems to really be on the money here. I even left in the bit about my dream land Australia. The one thing that REALLY worries me is that the type of rubbish that this very thread is talking about, the marching and demanding of these religious loonies will end up reaching us down under. heck, it even started in sydney recently. Take a look at great britain, take a look at europe, now take a look at the usa, try and convince me that this insidious religion isn't gaining ground worldwide. Thin edge of the wedge stuff here, thin edge of the wedge

........................................................................................

I received this email the other day. I think it fits well here

I've never heard it put this way.....plain and simple!!!

Many Muslims today are not happy!

They're not happy in Gaza
They're not happy in Egypt .
They're not happy in Libya
They're not happy in Morocco .
They're not happy in Iran
They're not happy in Iraq .
They're not happy in Yemen
They're not happy in Afghanistan .
They're not happy in Pakistan .
They're not happy in Syria .
They're not happy in Lebanon .

So, where are they happy?

They're happy in Australia .
They're happy in the UK .
They're happy in Canada .
They're happy in the US .
They're happy in France .
They're happy in Germany .
They're happy in Italy .
They're happy in Sweden .
They're happy in Denmark .
They're happy in Norway .
So……They're happy in every country that is not Muslim.

And who do they blame?

Not Islam.
Not their leadership.
Not themselves.
THEY BLAME THE COUNTRIES THEY ARE HAPPY IN!
AND THEY WANT TO CHANGE THEM TO BE LIKE THE COUNTRY THEY CAME FROM WHERE THEY WERE UNHAPPY.

Excuse me, but have I missed something here?

Cheers

Steve
PS .... Sure hope Australia doesn't go down the path of Great Britain, Europe and the Scandinavian countries. They're being taken over from within. Even Ghadafi said Islam won't need to fight to conquer the world, all they will do is outbreed the locals in western countries (naturally this is paraphrased but the real meaning is clear)

Please don't take this the wrong way, but you post too much for me to touch on it all.

I was actually wondering about the date though. The leaders seem too educated to not realize that is a touchy time for us... and them apparently. Perhaps its just to get our attention.

The grievances they present kind of shadow the Jim Crow days. One thing I do know, our "National Security" craze has definitely given our government the tools to pull it off. Anyone can be detained nowadays with no limitation on time.

The good thing is that now people are actually rising against Islam.

There is no way Islam can coexist peacefully with any other religion.

The sooner people get this, the better.

It has brought a bad name to all the Abrahamic religions as a whole.

Points to consider:-

*Christians and Jews do not get any protection in the middle east.
*They are not allowed to practice their own religion freely.
*They have to pay additional taxes aka Jizya.
*Our daughter's are being forcibly raped and converted to Islam everyday in Islamic countries.

The Religion Of Peace

What's your implication?

That because "they don't respect us over there we shouldn't respect them over here" type of childish logic?

You want to compare the US to another country that some people here don't want to be like as an example of how we should be?

So many have all these issues with how the "Muslim" countries conduct social and political issues, then turn around and say, "Well, that type of stuff would never fly over there, so why do we let it over here?" It's BS.

Tired of that type of crap thinking.

People need to quit condemning countries for not being like the US then turn around and say that's why we should be more like them.

What makes the US great is that we aren't like that.

Back on topic: They have every right to march on Washington if they so choose. Because THAT is what makes the US great, and THAT is a reason we have free speech and the First Amendment: to protect the UNPOPULAR speech.

And that we don't try to suppress a people's voice because we might not like their parent culture, the extremists which try to suppress and outlaw that with which it disagrees.

That's actually because of Islamic terrorist incidents like 9/11 ,7/7 ,26/11 etc.

You want to compare the US to another country that some people here don't want to be like as an example of how we should be?

You are delusional.

I just want Us to kick their ......
because they are responsible Islamic terrorism.

So many have all these issues with how the "Muslim" countries conduct social and political issues, then turn around and say, "Well, that type of stuff would never fly over there, so why do we let it over here?" It's BS.

Let me tell you something.
Nobody gives a s^#$ about how Islamic 'countries conduct social and political issues.'
But we do care when our people get killed by those terrorists.

Back on topic: They have every right to march on Washington if they so choose. Because THAT is what makes the US great,

There is much much more to the US then the 2nd Amendment.

And that we don't try to suppress a people's voice because we might not like their parent culture, the extremists which try to suppress and outlaw that with which it disagrees.

Nice try defending Islam ,nice try.

it's a shame that you are unable to see what is being pointed out in the post you are replying to, but it's unsurprising, given that you were unable to see it pointed out in earlier posts too.

basicly, you are becoming what you profess to oppose.

because you see freedoms limited elsewhere, you are seeking to limit freedoms in your own country - these freedoms are part of what defines the US. clearly us citizens are extremely proud of these freedoms.

now you dont want negative outside forces to change your country and way of life. and yet in reaction to them you seek to change country and way of life by removing freedoms.

eventually you may see the paradox and the lessons of history that apply to this (and posters i have been engaged in "lively debate" with on this thread have often referenced the lessons of history).

what is your answer? like mike in above posts, do wish to turn the US into a (non violent!!!) complete police state (it's a de-facto end, unless you can tell me how to answer the questions i posed to him, you can find them) and have people's thought's monitored in some way and remove freedom of information, association, religion and so forth? or would you go the michigan swamp buck route and round all the muslims in the USA up and exterminate them (yes, we all know he meant that, it was clear enough)

or do you think effort should be made to find a better solution, one that will last, one that wont mean permanent war and continually incremental reductions in your freedoms and the eventual wholesale change of what the USA is and what it means to live there - ie freedoms? because this is what you dont want, quite obviously.

ETA: you may want to check what the second ammendment is because you reference it in your post above...

and i know you love your spelling, grammar and punctuation to be spot on, so you must be hanging your head in shame right now, just sayin'
