An unidentified buyer who is totally not compensating for anything has purchased a gigantic cigar for $185,000. The Gran Habano #5 El Gigante -- The Giant -- measures an astounding 19 feet long by 3 feet wide, according to FCN. The super-stogie is wrapped in 16,000 wrapper leaves and weighs approximately 1,600 pounds. That's the equivalent of 25,000 regular smokes. Juan Panesso, who operates CigarsDirect.com in Westchase, Fla., says he thought the inquiry into purchasing the cigar was a fake.

as fun is it to poke at this, the sad underlying fact is some rich
fool purchased something that cant be used and has no reason.

Its just sad to see the wasted money people spend on things like this..
hundred and eighty K, how many meals would that of bought for the homeless
and hungry? You think about it...most states have 'food banks' which get discounted
meals. Per help.feedingamerica.org... one dollar will buy 8 meals so instead of wasting
money on something as self centered as this, the same person could of bought 1,480,000 meals
for the hungry.

This is whats wrong with our system and why we are where we are, people are more willing
to waste money on stupid things rather than to help out their fellow man.
Its a sad time we live in.

Sure i can see some rich guy buying something cool everyone needs toys, but things
like this are just crazy, no real purpose.

I don't disagree at all, and if it were'nt before 8am at the time I'd probably have said something along those lines.

but it was toooooo early for being jaded.

now I'm on hold on the phone with an estimated wait time of "over 60 minutes"... things go downhill quick around here..

This is totally off topic and I seriously apologize for it but I read this as 19-foot cougar for some reason.
