The NRA has published a list of "Gun Control Advocates, aka an "enemies list" - supposedly in retaliation for the Journal News publishing a list of handgun permit holders in New York; the list is extensive, virtually every organization, person, or society that has advocated for responsible gun control is named

National Organizations With Anti-Gun Policies

And: conservativedailynews.com

I don't know what the NRA hopes to accomplish by this - it's listing a large number of very admirable organizations that work to improve society or human health. Apparently it's a boycott list (according to Guns&Ammo).

As the NRA sees it: these are 'national organizations' that 'officially endorsed anti-gun positions'. First, I'm sure Leonard Nimoy or Jack Nickleson must be amused by being labeled a 'national organization', and secondly, 'gun-control' is not 'anti-gun'. The NRA just doesn't get it.

This is a very old list that keeps popping up.

Some of the orgs and people are long gone.

The NRA needs to update it.

The NRA needs to stop spreading propaganda. And the people need to stop slurping it up like starving puppies.

What's the propaganda?

Dead or not are those names/orgs on that list not funding/supporting a gun control agenda?

I think the propaganda flows pretty freely from both sides on this issue. This is also one of the reasons I can't support the NRA. I really think they are part of the agenda to disarm (although the 2nd is not the only one on the table). Too much time soaking up DC money. Either that or they are stupidly playing into the rhetoric. We are fast appoaching an "Us" against "Them" point in this country. And, you are right . . . the public is just eating it up.

Propaganda:
: the spreading of ideas, information, or rumor for the purpose of helping or injuring an institution, a cause, or a person
: ideas, facts, or allegations spread deliberately to further one's cause or to damage an opposing cause;

The propaganda here is that the NRA is trying to create fear that the second amendment is dying, even though there's no proof of that. They are trying to manipulate you to to get support for their political positions. They're trying get you "on their side".

The best propaganda contains facts.

I totally agree. The biggest challenge to an oppressive government is an armed AND EDUCATED populace. We are armed, but by all accounts, we are NOT educated. That's why it's so important for each person to educate themselves. The propaganda flows both ways and I have said as much in other posts. And now, this one.

When a liberal media outlet produces a list of law abiding citizens its a "public service" in the name of safety.

When the NRA produces a list of organizations that want to limit gun rights it's an "enemy list"

Both sides want people on their team. Only a fool believes that a gun free america is not the desired goal at this point.

Both sides use a grain of truth to create lies. They both tailor their talking points to the people that want to believe a certain way.

Read up on both sides and make a decision for yourselves. Under no circumstances should a person believe that anyone has their best interests at heart.

No not anti-gun . . . just anti-freedom. This issue is really simple when you take emotional pleas out of the equation. The supreme court has long held that it is the states job to regulate this issue. The second doesn't grant us the right to bear arms, it forbids the federal gov from legislating against it. It is up to the states to define militia and up to them to grant individual rights. Over 40 states grant this right unfettered. We have already seen this restriction overstepped in 68, 86, and again in 94. Regardless of the rhetoric, any federal measures would be ruled unconstitutional . . . the others weren't because they've gone unchallenged, just complained about. Another reason the NRA is ineffective and seems to really be playing for the othe side. Once again, matching fear mongering with fear mongering and devisive rhetoric. The argument should be simple amend for the 2nd or strike or GTFO!

If people don't feel safe around guns there are plenty of states that do restrict ownership and access, this is a fee country and they are free to reside in states that fit their lifestyle.

Its a propaganda and rhetoric war. Its just that one side thinks its the only that can play. Now the NRA is getting geared up....late in the game really and folks start running around like chickens with thier heads cut off.

Left wants a "level playing field" witch means you gotta walk around with blinders and ear plugs if you are anything that looks like pro gun.

Thats right thisguyrighthere.... Did you know that New York is the most pro second amendment state in the union? Conversely Texas and South Dakota are the most anti second amendment.

If thats all you think about when you see that list..

Then there is something seriously wrong with your mental capacity.

Gun control?
how about you look at the REAL things those orgs do for American society, isntead of looking at them trying to stop stupid crazy gun nut americans from owning weapons which can end lives in seconds.

American Civil Liberties Union American Association for the Surgery of Trauma
American Trauma Society
American Federation of Teachers
American Association of School Administrators
American Alliance for Rights and Responsibilities American Firearms Association

what would you like us to do? outlaw them, banish them, publically criticise them because they dont agree with Americas very lax gun control laws?

dear god you need a background check before you can own a gun.. OUTRAGEOUS!
