First off, lets set one thing straight. I believe that anyone who's doesn't believe in intelligent life off this planet is being mathematically irrational (in other words, we are presupposing UFOs exist).

OK, I was watching this and as I watched the case which starts 45 minutes into this documentary, (actually as I saw the images with the plane and the much larger sized UFO which start at time-stamp 48:50),
it dawned on me,

That a massive craft like that, with all its capabilities, with all the little subunits that come and go from the mothership like an airforce carrier, a craft like that would certainly come from a people with the ability to access our communications infrastructure! Think about it, everything is just flying around wireless signals from your laptop to your modem through some wires to the satellites! Now, it probably wouldn't be too hard for any species that wanted to, to come in and pose as Earthlings on the internet. Forge an IP address, and beam your information into either satellites or any ground-based antennas. They could even park a cloaked ship on your roof and use your WIFI (that's probably totally unnecessary and I'm not saying they do, but the potential for such use/or abuse exists.

It seems we are totally unprotected from any extraterrestrial threats like that. There could easily be ET's hovering above our planet posting videos on youtube (it's not like you need any real information to get a youtube account), commenting in ATS forums, they could be doing it in the thousands and we'd have no idea. they could seriously be affecting peoples thoughts and perceptions with uploaded content into our informational infrastructure.

Looks like you've stumbled upon ATS' dirty little secret..... I always thought Springer and SO looked a little funny to me.

In terms of your broader point....it would be rational to assume they could do this....unless our communications seem like dolphin clicking to them.

Beings from other planets very well could be hacking and listening in on us etc. and/or posing as a human and getting information that way...

However; I just have to wonder...why would they want to?

Well I have always wondered why aliens would possibly want to visit Earth in the first place. I suppose that dirty pictures and pirated music make more sense than water or gold.

In my view, it depends upon who THEY are?

If they are a future 'us' come to visit the past, I can understand the cat and mouse game. If 'they' are distant travelers, then maybe the journey isn't a very arduous one and they are just having a 'look-see" in our neighborhood.

Naturalists watch the animals 'do it' all the time. Our porn is probably very educational to them.

Goddammit! I knew someone was stealing my WiFi. They can probably break WAP2 in a couple seconds! I thought it was my noisy freeloading neighbor....

I dont want to bash you in anyway, want to clarify this part in which many people make a mistake.
UFOs DO exist, example i throw a shoe and my neighbor cant tell what it is, that in its simplicity makes
it a UFO.
If you are referring to flying saucers or extraterrestrial crafts, now that is a different matter.

people! This subject is so skewed because of these simple little things, please be careful what you write up
considering what you actually mean.

peace.

It is actually your Earth twinkies that we crave.

They last longer and are more delicious than other twinkies.

Resources, Think about it, back when they flew over the Whitehouse (who was the president that met with them, Eisenhower?) and after the whole Battle of Los Angeles things where they pretty much proved indestructible, they came down and were all like "Listen, we own you now, actually we a always have, but now your species is growing up and you've got global communications with each other, a few major nations which run their neighborhoods, so here's how it is" the aliens say, and go on to say.. "we are going to keep coming back and forth as we please, harvesting precious resources, especially gold. You are going to give us all the gold that you have and your going to assist us in controlling your peoples perceptions of our presence." After all we already found out that Fort Knox has been empty for decades (I bet you they cleared it out shortly after the James Bond film goldfinger. ;P Anyway...

They wouldn't want everybody on earth to just know, because then people would resist, people would be all like "Hey WTF, this our planet, that our gold, those our massive underground cave networks, blah blah blah whatever an Earthly rebel might say." and so its better to have the people thinking their own government is wack rather than thinking the alien overlords are wack. (I would have said F%*$ed instead of wacked but whatever.

OK... so then that explains things like the numerous on record statements by the government to their own airforce pilots and commercial pilots etc, that "If you see a UFO we don't want to hear about it" or "The US Government has no evidence to indicate in the past or modern world to that any species exist outside of planet Earth." etc. they didn't word those statements exactly that way but that was the gist of the official statements.

OR, Lets say they aren't totally malevolent resource thieves, lets say they actually do want us to join the interstellar collective, then why the secrecy? Well, because A. we would resist until our minds are fully ready which could take generations, and B. Tila Tequila's private radio case with the speech from the UFO says that it's an interstellar law that we must be one planet united to be able to join the cosmos, hence the big push for a one world government, the destruction of the constitution, etc. (joking but not, expalnation next>>)They want us to unite as one, so that eventually we can join them. (she actually says the aliens emailed it to her, but that's bull# because Id' seen the video long before that on youtube, its a UFO giving a speech, anyway I cant find it on the google just now but it says that's the law)

These are theories, based on numerous government and seemingly quality UFO reports or "evidence", but this may very well be how the puzzle pieces fit together. Certainly a possibility, perhaps even a probability, but probably many of you are not yet ready to see such a thing as plausible.

I am both serious, and joking. I hope you can tell the difference.

BTW heres a google image search of tila tequila, doesn't she look a bit like an alien?

Dude, Gold makes plenty of sense. We've done all the hard work mining and refining it. It never falls apart, rusts, or decays, its perfect for space fairing electronics. That's why we use it in our space fairing electronics. But if you need to build a freaking aircraft carrier for interstellar travel, you're gonna need a lot more gold than a satellite would have. If your going to build a fleet of massive spaceships your going to need LOTS of gold.

The people of south america stockpiled large sums of gold for the purpose of sacrificing to their flying gods!
Our largest and most secret institutions themselves stockpile large sums of gold and then it is never heard nor seen from again.
Fort Knox, reportedly gone and no inspections allowed ever again.
Nazi and vatican collaboration in taking it from most of Europe (even going as far as to take it from dead people teeth in the thousands),
The highest powers have always sought the world for gold, and seized it when they found it.
Perhaps it was only to help them gain and maintain more power, OR perhaps it was because they were part of an earlier agenda by various space-fairing species to steal it. It is a limited and precious resource.
The Asians supposedly had stockpiled hollow mountains filled with gold. Odd's are, it serves some purpose.
The US government even outlawed it and required that everyone turn in whatever gold coins they had.
Imagine where that went, cause at this point no body knows.

Even highly revered award winning historians like Vine Deloria Jr. were of the opinion that in ancient times extraterrestrials enslaved the South Americans and other peoples of the Earth for the purpose of gathering gold. They teach that in history classes in collage these days as a legitimate theory (This is a collage with numerous Nobel prizewinners over the last few years alone). Thinking these things is no longer Taboo, It's plausible, rational, & damn well might wind up becoming the standard of the future. Don't think you're so advanced in thought with your conventionally modern thinking; your like the vatican saying the earth is flat and refusing to accept that the sun as the center of the solarsystem. Sometimes I feel like Galileo talking to vatican officials here on ATS knowing that ancient Greeks had demonstrated Heliocentric evidence a millennium before! Honestly, you ATSers can be so close minded!

What would anybody do with so much massive quantities of gold? They certainly don't need it as any real part of our ridiculous financial system in which imaginary money outweighs the value of all real-goods and property in existence by a few thousand times!

How about just for fun?

We could be a big toy to them....if they are as sick as humanity, just imagine the fun they could have?

I've wondered this myself, assuming there are ET races that have cloaked craft stationed in orbit,or in our athmosphere-do they get bored? Humans can be a pretty amusing species-often mostly so when actually being serious.ET propably don't need the net for any info,so if they use it,its likely to pass the time+have a giggle.Or for trying to get the type of non-theoretical info, like firsthand insight into our thought processes, psyches, etc? Sometimes one has conversations with some one who is only a face with a name, supposedly from this country,or that-and ive often wondered-this person im talking to,is it Really blonde Mary Smith from Michigan who loves cats and is a vegetarian? Or is it actually darkhaired Tom Jones from Wichita, who loves steak, loathes cats+is given to making up a false identity to "get into a woman's mind" by pretending to be one, etc? This would be exactly the same.

Yes and in the vastness of the infinite universe our world is the only known corner store for intergalactic Gold buyers...

If we can have planets made of Diamond, im sure there are worlds out their made entirely of gold, interstellar clouds of pure gold, asteroids of pure gold, Suns belching out pure particular gold...

But no they gotta come here to mine it over 100's of thousands of years with a slave labor force.

But to your Aliens on the Net claim, id have to say they more than likely would be (if they are indeed here, to say they didnt have infiltration into our information networks would be kinda stupid), for all you know they might even access it the same way we do with a PC, router and some identify theft in a building or bunker hidden away near some town or city. And no im not being sarcastic.

That being said im not gonna get my nickers in a twist and become paranoid every second person on the net might be a Grey sitting at a PC in a covert base of operations.

You call advanced sitting on a chair posting on a screen? Scared about the world we live in?
I'm reporting you to the high commander right now. I'm on top of your roof cloaked, but you can't see me.
