I dig the vibe friend. We are good people. We live the way the founding fathers intended us to, that scares the government. The government is the only terrorists I can think of.

I am getting fed up of these threads, people just don’t know how to use or define the word terrorist

Most if not all of those things listed in the OP will NOT make you a terrorist under American law

People seem to have a fixation with a word they do not understand, the word “terrorist” is starting to get abused like the word “Nazi” it’s is grossly overused and its context is misunderstood by many on ATS.

These are thier words, not mine! People are foolish if that doesn't give them pause, even a little! I am just pointing it out is all, and I will agree with the fact that the term gets tossed around too easily so far this millenium. Who are the insane ones? The ones that live in fear afraid of a boogeyman ready to jump around every corner or the people who realize bad things happen and want everything that has been taken from us after Sept. 10th 2000 restored?

Edit: Thank you for the link to your own thread, it raises a good point. What is terrorism? I think we agree that the term does get used far too often and you are right one mans definition of terrorism is another mans definition of freedom fighter.

That was the quote! Thanks!

Yes, I agree. There is a lot of fear, obviously on both sides. I feel we are perhaps at a tipping point.

Who shall blink first? Who will be the first to fire the first shot? Are we the people being goaded? Yes, we certainly are. Taunted, teased, almost begged to come out against the government. Obama seems to be almost licking his chops waiting for it.

So in reality, the trap is laid. Falling into it is the grand plan. It finalizes the game for him, and that's all this has become to him. A dangerous game, no doubt. Serious end results, for sure. But, who will be goaded?

There is a fine line. Do we sit and lose our liberties one at a time, while being made to feel like monsters for having moral standing and righteous indignation? Or, do we act? It is not the first time the question has come upon this nation. History repeats itself.

However, we have also never had someone, our alleged leader, so blatantly attempt to dismantle this nation from the inside out. Both politically and militarily, while his lap dogs in the media and Hollywood do his bidding on the people. It is a unique place we find ourselves in.

Still, yet, while there is tyranny, no doubt there is still liberty.

The question is, how much? And for how long?

Yes, /s is for sarcasm, but it was sarcasm with a purpose.

It started well before the Bush admin ( Daddy or Jr.. or Clinton or Reagan.. etc) and Id think that anyone who has actually looked into the genesis of the fall of this country knows this. Only children and fools believe it originates with a president himself.. or in the last few administrations. The large push originated with Lincoln and this was the push for a large federal government. Since THIS administration is what we are living in at the moment and its out in the public as it was not in the previous admin.. its what we are speaking about. Don't even try to make it yet another pathetic ATS BS fest about a dem vs repub .. Obama vs Bush.. pissing match. Believe it or not, to dislike THIS administration doesnt automatically make anyone love Bush or republicans.

For gods sake.. STOP invoking Bush as if he was the end all of corruption and since he did it too... It as if Obama can do the same and somehow in Bizarroland he is off limits for any criticism for HIS administration's actions. Its a poor argument and pretty transparent.

If anyone is seriously proposing that the federal govt ( under ANY president's term-s- ) has any interest in sorting out those who are "good" and against them and who are "bad" and against them.. I dont know what to tell you other than... ignorance is bliss and there are a lot of over the top freaking blissful folks apparently.

I think perhaps you need to inform Napolitano... since she is having a difficult time with it.

www.washingtontimes.com...

Homeland Security Secretary Janet Napolitano said Wednesday that she was briefed before the release of a controversial intelligence assessment and that she stands by the report, which lists returning veterans among terrorist risks to the U.S.

Yes RISKS not actual terrorists, being a veteran does not make one a terrorist all that they are saying is that it could make one a RISK of being a terrorist that does not mean all veteran ARE terrorists.

With all due respect... There are reasons and fairly well founded ones for the concern in how authority has come to define a domestic terrorist or domestic threat. This was big news at the time but many have forgotten it, I think. It never hurts to remind folks that it has, in fact, been defined and not too far off from the very words the OP uses.

(Source #1

Now it kills me to have to admit that came from my own state, but it did....

The first link is a news type blog talking about it. The second link is the report itself and what DHS picked up as a seemingly decent idea until the public caught wind and went totally ape over it. (Rightfully so, too)

We'd all stop accusing them of seeing us as the enemy if they'd stop calling us that.

Then take it up with DHS and the Federal government. This was the list handed out to the FBI, as well as police departments, of people to watch out for.

Along with notices sent to businesses to be wary of customers that pay cash. Go to Starbucks and buy that late' with greenbacks, and you may be on a watch list! Then, they start the credit 4% surcharge this weekend encouraging people to pay cash?!

Can you say entrapment? Circular argument?

Well. Don't go to the Army Navy store for camping or hiking or hunting gear! Watch list!

Take it up with DHS, the OP is just bringing the topic to the table for discussion. It's been brought before, but obviously, some people missed it.

So, be happy getting that 4% surcharge when you pay with credit now, because only terrirists pay with cash.

Yes.. and who was left OFF of the list?? Hmm... terrorists. Lets talk about risk. Its okay to put folks on a list of POTENTIAL terrorists and groups of American citizens that have a "risk" of producing a terrorists.... makes it more palatable?? "Arabs" and "Muslims" are no more of a group to be put on a list any more than "combat vets" or people who happen to speak about the constitution too much to suit her. Napolitano is a hubris filled jerk.. but sure knows how to play on words to pacify folks into accepting lists of potential risks out of large segements of American citizens!

Lists and risks are fine and dandy now I guess. I can not believe that there are those that are fine with living in a culture of fear with no thought of really researching the glorious history of marginalizing and grouping segments of the population.. to manufacture a boogeyman.

I agree 100% with your post and I figured it was sarcasm lol, just wanted to be sure. I hope a first shot does not get fired. The potential for a disaster is beyond comprehension, his agenda seems very Socialistic in nature and to me and I am sure alot of others that is a very VERY scary thing. I hope we can restore the things we have lost without any bloodshed.

@Advantage

I agree, this goes well beyond party lines and is a cancer that has infected the very foundations this country was based upon. In reality we no longer even have the ability to vote people we want in office because the people responsible for the changes going on in our country lobby and contribute vast sums of money to any candidate they believe has a realistic chance of winning the election.

@OtherSide

Just wanted to point out the fact I said potential in my thread title.

Its even worse than that.
If you did manage to get someone in you felt was best.. he or she would have no hope of ever putting through anything useful to get the country back on track as they would be prevented by the rest of the hydra. I dont like Obama, but I believe he actually wanted to pull the troops back home.. and shut down gitmo. No hope of that with the infection in our federal government.. and our symbiosis with global politics. IN order to instutute policies and changes to at least give us a shot at being a viable republic... the infection has to be eradicated.

Very similar to this are rez politics. My father was a huge anti BIA activist back when ( and up until he died.. mom is back on rez and took it up) .. and even when you manage to get in someone that would really fight the good fight.. the more shadowy part of the machine seems to ruin every attempt.. while blaming it on the other guy. The ONLY way to fix it is to completely eradicate the BIA.. which hasnt happened yet. Its happening right now on m parents rez.. and the MSM doesnt make a peep... it would clue you in on the feds and their operation in a microcosmic view.

Agreed, things need to be done to get back on track, but the things that need to be done are not going to be supported by those in power.

They won't agree to a reboot of the system.

They would not agree to do away with the Federal Reserve or to do away with campaign contributions from banks and the mega corporations.

They will oppose anyone who suggests a review of all laws on the books and voiding all laws/organizations that are redundant/unnecessary (i.e. shrinking federal government).

They would oppose term limits on the senate, and would oppose a vote on political offices that are appointed and hold alot of power and are all too often used as bargaining chips (appointment rewards cronysim).

In my opinion these things should be changed, but they will not willingly agree to change them of that I am pretty darn certain.

How in the hell do these problems get addressed without really bad things happening?

They routinely make huge issues out of minor things and ignore things that have the potential to destroy the country.

current example making huge stink about gun control versus the very real threat of the financial state of the country being all but ignored.

Getting back on topic my question is what gives them the right to make a definition of terrorism that is so broad and so subjective that anyone under the sun fits thier definition of possibly being one?

How about someone with a username like exitusstatuquo on a conspiracy research website like ATS.

Latin: Exitus Statu Quo
English: End the Status Quo

Ending the status quo gives me a purpose. The elite have taken resources and power from the rest of us for far too long in my opinion. Monarchy is inherently evil by design. Monarchs who dole out to the budding upper class resources and power over the rest of us are a problem. Banks who run the deals for them are a rotting core of decadent behavior with a self aggrandizing lust for power and insatiable greed. We need the globalist removed from positions of power. The power ending this warped madness and imbalance of power and social justice comes from nature itself. Humankind can not be birthed into the greater universe under the yoke of servitude to tyrants that is for sure.

Peace and prosperity for all humankind not just the few.

Suh-weeeet!!

Just got out of the shower, where I do alot of my meaningful thinking, and just realized that I am not all that upset I am on that list. 95% of the people who come on ATS (you know, the ones with open minds make up about 75%) are also on that list and when you think about that, I realized at the very least I am in some really good company. So with that in mind, if the NWO goes full blown tyrannical koo koo and rounds is all up for the Re-Education camps I will at the very least be in some very good company.
