Hi - I’m using XP and Firefox - logged into FB yesterday just fine but can’t log into FB today.

Down for Everyone or Just Me lists FB as working - obviously not for me though.

I've tried: FireFox, IE and Google Chrome. No go with any one of the three.

I’d really appreciate a hand here.

peace

Out of curiosity, are you at work? At a corporate location, perhaps? It sounds like maybe Facebook is blocked.

Try pinging FB by opening command prompt... type Ping www.facebook.com and see if your computer is talking to FB. If it is type the IP address into your browser. If you can get to FB that way then you probably have some sort of DNS issue. See if you are having problems with other web sites that you visit.

Thank you

I tried this - and it still will not connect to FB but it is 'talking' to FB.

No other problems with any other sites. Only FB - interestingly that includes any FB help site.

???

peace

I'm wondering if my ISP has blocked FB because that's exactly how it 'feels' - that only FB and FB help sites are blocked.

I'm on the computer I always use to connect and never had a problem before today - no one uses this computer but me and I've changed or updated nothing. Nothing uploaded or downloaded.

If I remember correctly and it is some type of DNS problem (and here's the questions) then going back to a restore point will not help will it? Or will it, lol?

peace and thanks

I would try this as the next step. I've solved many connection problems by doing it.

If that doesn't work, let us know.
