Actually the safety of this devices are as questionable as the ones that are used in the airports as this devices has been introduced into the population without anyn safety standards at all.

They are x rays machine regardless of the fancy names they come out with.

Begging for more security, huh?
This is just the way the instigators wanted it.
Only when the power measures are implemented in full will everyone wake up and realize what they've been asking for all this time. Or not...

Personal privacy is a thing of the past. As technology advances, we lose more and more of it.

People wonder why I'm such a homebody these days....

I keep seeing everyone (regardless of pet issue) state that everything the gov is doing is unconstitutional . . . Unfortunately, it is not. Well . . . Not unless someone challenges the Patriot Act and NDAA in the SCOTUS to rule on constitutionality. Compliance and silence are a non-verbal consent to usurp you rights according to the law of the land. Also, unfortunately, the gov will just claim "wartime" powers and national security for not having to follow the constitution and we'll still be sitting the the same place.

You have the choice not to fly, you do not have the choice to not go outside. This is a serious and terrifying affront to all that we are supposed to stand for as Americans. My Government has NO right to scan me without permission or Probable cause.

I honestly do not see this getting past the ACLU. Especially as you can bet your bottom dollar that the first systems will be used to target people of color more often that White people. (I am White people). I refuse to be scanned at the airport and always submit to the body search. Especially as it is pretty easy to make the person do the searching laugh. Although I have thought about popping a Viagra three hours before a flight, just to make it equally uncomfortable.

I think it's a great idea. Too many crazies with guns these days, especially with lackadaisical laws!

"Those who would give up essential liberty to purchase a little temporary safety deserve neither liberty nor safety." - Benjamin Franklin, Historical Review of Pennsylvania, 1759

That is something people need to learn, and know, and take to heart. There is also, logically, NO security if those in power can obtain a full body scan of you whenever and wherever they wish, or a biometric eye scan. Basically, we would all become nothing more than herd animals. Note, too, the comments that the TSA is removing these scanners from airports, and that these scanners SHRED your DNA. Maybe they are removing them from airports because they plan to place them all over in public.....

Anyone that agrees with the feds and NYPD on this one, please line up to the left, get ready for your brand, and to be shuffled into a cattle car.

Couldn’t you just sue the NYC Council and have this all removed for being unconstitutional? Surely it couldn’t be too difficult, if you had the time and money to go to court. This is just disgusting.

What needs done is for a person to start a company making metal shapes that are not guns but would send out the image as if it was. I'd carry one just to protest against this illegal search procedure.

Take that coppers.

Along with that, I'd suggest the folks who do conceal to get mylar lined clothing.
I don't think wearing clothing is against the law yet.

We always look forward new technology, to think it won't be used is pretentious.

Agreed, otherwise someone or someones would not be spending billions on developing it.
Just developing this should be under scrutiny.
I wonder how many folks in the OWS protests had this used on them unknowingly, I wonder if there will be a cancer outbreak among the OWS folks.

I hate the fact that you are right.
We the people must make a stand and claim our natural rights, oh wait we are and they are attempting to take those away right now.
Gotta keep that 2A or the rest I promise will follow.

Just speculating here, but, I cannot help but wonder how long it will take for the gangs in NYC to become angry enough at the dent this will put in their weapons trade, to begin putting .30 caliber holes in them?

Who knows, it could become the new way to make your bones in the gang you are a part of?
Or, making a sport of running them over, ala Death Race 2000?

I just don't see this going well for the oppressors, err, I mean, authorities.
