The structures can be found around the world and were created to protect against rock storms from super volcanoes that rocked the earth around 10,500 b.c-present. Surrounding skies and land were covered in ejecta that could of covered 1000's of square km's raining pebbles, rocks, and sand like ash. The structures were ideal for such events.

So now we find out that Russia too has been on earth for a long time....hmmmmmmm
These look like houses of snake people or reptilians of some kind...hardly like human habitations....

It looks to me like a religious structure of some kind. A tomb or a temple. With the amount of effort that probably went into building these means they were of great cultural importance. Why the hell do some in this thread try to explain away the dedication and workmanship that went into buildings by saying they were built using cymatics? Is it so hard to believe that our ancestors lacked the knowledge, means, and motivation to do this with their hands? Why is the application of hypothetical magitek from Atlantis become necessary here?

Meat lockers. Bear and wolf proof.

Even if they could remove the stone blocking the entrance the hole is man sized, not bear.

Very important to secure enough food for the winter and keep it safe from predators.

They look like Giants built houses for their little human pets.

Love these things! Wonderful!

Probably for their cats. Cats have a long history of enslaving their two legged caretakers.

Maybe the idea of the tiny circular door was to keep the cold out-or maybe to keep out large predatory beasts who were around at the time.

Good thought, but how would a Hobbit build a structure with those massive stones? They couldn't reach that high, or lift that heavy.

Lol oh yea!
but the hobbits had the giant trees build their houses ... it all makes sense! haha!

Great find op star n flag

Those have been 'reconstructed' wrong.

They aren't dwellings, they are outhouses.

And those holes aren't doors, you know...

There were giants in the Earth in those days, and no flushing toilets.

That makes a whole lot of sense, really. Perhaps that is one of multiple purposes? Or is a heavy stone structure basically the bare minimum it would take to keep bears out of your food? All that stone seems like a hefty time and energy investment.

How PERFECT are the circular entrances !! WOW!!
This will re-write a LOT of books if the dates are true!!

You saying these were BIG STONE TOILET SEATS?

In spite of the variety of Caucasian monuments, they show strong similarities with megaliths from different parts of Europe and Asia, like the Iberian Peninsula, France, Great Britain, Ireland, Netherlands, Germany, Denmark, Sweden, Israel and India

Fast Forward a few thousand years and, you'll have archaeologists referring to cities in the 21st Century bearing "remarkable resemblance across the globe"

wondering why and how it all came to an end...

The answer is no matter how many times we're given the opportunity to thrive, it seems that the asshats amongst us always end up in charge and hence: destruction, and reset.

To me it looks like some kind of oven, but I have no rational reason to believe that

Other random thoughts:

Confessional box (just insert fine mesh in teh circle)

Some kinda tomb

Could they have been constructed to 'whistle' when the wind blows a certain strength/direction? (like when you blow on a bottle)

Astronomical observation (observer sits inside either looking out the circle (does anything appear in the circle at certain times of year/precession/etc?) or perhaps the light shone onto the back wall creating a 'projection' of a certain part of the sky?

What if it was some kind of signal light/optical system? perhaps multiple ones linked by laser?

I'm open to all ideas.. from lowtech human inventions to previous civilization, alien, etc.. Although there doesnt seem any reason why a lowtech society would use such large rocks rather than a pile of smaller rocks. The megaliths IMO point to something 'different'.

Excellent find, So by how many years is the human civilization pushed back as opposed to what textbooks were saying several years ago? What did it say, the first neanderthals and such were 10,000 years ago around and after the last Ice Age, how sad, if mainstream science doesn't admit they can be wrong even about things already discovered

Great find! Wonder how they made such precise circular cuts in such thick stone!

sorry to break it to some people here, but these monuments were beaten out out of the earth using hammer stones and further beaten and ground to shape. rollers and ropes would have been used to manouver them, along with good old fashioned muscles.. earthen ramps were most likely used to help raise them and the earth dug away later. it's quite simple really and very do-able.

Any attempts to prove the do-ability of any of these methods have been done only on a greatly reduced scale - in terms of size of block - and each has failed, miserably. Sorry, something I keep my eye on.

Tell us then O mighty one, who only needs to cite himself as proof of his claims, how did these structures come to be?

I am willing to speculate that the inhabitants of the Caucasus of the time were stronger, better organized, and more dedicated than whatever unnamed team of academics tried to do it themselves.

well it's been done throughout human history actually, quarrying and moving stone just takes time and effort - it seems you lack practical/physical experience of working with stone and moving heavy objects - ever tried working stone with another stone or making and using your own rope to move large objects? big building projects are part of our collective history.

there is a link one page one of this thread that provides much, much more reliable dating evidence, and it sure aint 25k BP! that particular piece of "dating" came from some forum and has no credibility .... internet news articles eh? always follow the links and see where the "info" came from, this really would prevent the spread of disinformation and the many spurious theories that get spread in their wake

the circular holes are cool though, but again, easily enough done with time and effort, all thats needed is a centrepoint, some cordage (handwoven, from say leather, nettle or bast fibres, spruce roots or bramble) and some chalk (where you have flint you have chalk) to mark it out, and then a craftsman willing to put in some time and care, with a small pile of hard stones such as flint, quartzite, chert or granite for example, to beat/peck out the middle of the hole and then carefully grind and shape the edges. if required he/she could have made a circular template to check the work.

humans, we can do all sorts of fab stuff with the simplest of materials

a nice idea, but sadly not worm, rodent or insect proof.... archaeologist usually tend to go for the catch all term "ritual" with sites like these, which is ofc a way of saying "we dont really know, but it was clearly highly important and not simply practical" - considering the time and effort put into structures like this, and that much simpler solutions exist for things such as shelters, food stores, protection etc, it is reasonable to assume more mystical/psychological motivations from the builders, such as burial monuments, tributes to gods/spirits, cultural markers to put one's imprint on the landscape and so on.

ETA punkinworks10's post on page one contains a link on these monuments, which had human remains and grave goods in them
