Having spent 13 years working on missiles and launching them I can say that I have never seen any missile launch that looked anything like that... I don't think this is a missile launch. Now I don't think that it's a mothership in a wormhole either.

hate to upset anyones all knowing apple cart here , but , that was no failed missle launch ! simply by calculating trajectory , velocity to an (esteimated)altitude and the earths rotation , (ever watched a shuttle launch ?) this event isnt even close to a missle luanch.

Why would the rocket/missle not keep going up? the "trail" and orb it conects to (only way I can discribe it) don't move....is it a hover rocket?

I think this should be enough photo evidence to invalidate the glowing exhaust trail as being "alien" or "unexplained".

It's just the suns reflecting the exhaust...That's why it bends and also "illuminates". The exhaust is merely over the horizon whereas the person viewing is under the horizon.. That's all.. Nothing special here..




People should actually read the thread before posting, might help to understand it better.

Cool. What did dusk launchings look like to you? If you were working on launching the rockets, can we assume you were in the blockhouse for liftoff?

This is a good question and is very common.

The answer is, real rockets on far flights don't do that. You've watched too much 'Star Wars'.

Real orbital rockets and even long range military missiles only rise vertically for the very earliest portions of their trajectories, to get above the thicker layers of the atmosphere as soon as possible.

As soon as they can, they begin tilting over to the horizontal, to build up what actually gives them ground range or orbital stability: HORIZONTAL speed.

Practically all rockets do this, except the short-range sounding rockets, or Rutan's SpaceShipOne that poked briefly out into space and fell back to its own launching area.

This what missile launches look like. I know, because I've seen missile launches when the time is exactly confirmed with authoritative information from missile launches from Vandenberg AFB. The conical "aura" is classic result from rocket exhaust in the upper atmosphere. They can be visible from many hundreds of kilometers away.

Perhaps the propellant used is plasma like? Maybe that was the real test. Not the rocket, but instead, the propellant.

It's not a far stretch to think that some kind of propellant they used is either super heated and/or reflecting itself off of the sun that high in the air. There are countless kinds of gases plasmas and other propellants that could be reflecting the light of the sun.



That is just speculation for this does not look anything like a rocket launch or it's abort procedure. Rockets reach orbit or travel thousands of miles in a minute or two, not like this for several minutes. They do not leave a glow behind. Whatever this is, and i am leaning towards a natural phenomenon this is NOT a rocket.

While the trajectory does resemble a rocket or missile, if this is the explanation then can someone explain to me why the entire path of the missile continues to be lit up for thousands and thousands of feet? I would be the first to dismiss ET explanations, and although a projectile of large size is "obvious," the fact that this light just hovers in the atmosphere is intriguing. Even if the missile had exploded, the light would not remain in the sky in such a manner in my opinion. It definitely would not make a trail all the way to near the ground.

For there to be light still radiating from some location there must be a source, as light will not continue to shine in absence of a source, unless the distance is astronomical, which is not the case here on earth. Maybe it is a missile or a spacecraft, but to me this just does not seem to fit, unless the lighting is just an effect of the moon or something. Or maybe some kind of weird reflection, refraction, or diffusion is taking place, giving what we see in the video.

Actually it takes about 8 minutes for a rocket to reach orbit. Though they do cover quite a bit of distance in that period of time, depending on your point of view it can be visible for quite a while.

The exhaust trail slowly dissipates. No reason it can't hang around and remain visible for a while.

It does - you just can't see it since unlike the upper parts of the contrail which are in the sunlight, the lowest parts of the contrail are in Earth's shadow. You can however clearly see where Earth's shadow begins since the lower part of the contrail becomes progressively more red in colour. This is due to the scattering of light by Earth's atmosphere - just like when the Sun is observed close to or on the horizon at sunset or sunrise, it appears red in colour.

So the part of the contrail towards the base is being lit by light that is passing through Earth's atmosphere at a low angle (ie. passing though the atmosphere at an angle that takes it through the thickest part of the atmosphere, and the thicker the atmosphere, the more the blue light is scattered, leaving only/mostly red light to be reflected from the contrail back to the eye of an observer).
