OK, so here's my problem: I've been using ATS for a while now, and love the embedded vid's from YouTube.
Sure, you can't go full-screen from an embedded video, but I'll live with that.
What bothers me is that now, with Windows 8, the embedded vid's don't show up. At all. Just the space where it should be, with the YT link under it.

I'm using W8 Pro, 64bit, and the IE browser from the Metro interface.
It seems that in the "old-school" windows interface it works just fine.. But.. Isn't that just the same IE program ?
I've been wanting a different browser, as I always used Chrome, but Chrome doesn't work in the Metro interface.

True, I did notice how a lot of things don't work in Metro, while they do work in the "old interface".
But the thing is, I want to be able to use the Metro style for everything, so I don't have to keep switching back and forth between the two styles.

It's just strange though.. They pushed Metro on me, and yet their most basic feature is flawed... What I do like is the new "Music" and "Video's" tiles/apps, they work great.

I think the problem might be with Flash.

I did an internet search for 'metro internet explorer and flash'. It seems metro has limited flash support, which would would explain the youtube problem.

I also searched for 'metro internet explorer and youtube', there are some tips out there for work arounds.

Hmm... Seems like you're right, limited flash support... Well I guess I'll be on the lookout for a different browser then. One that does work that is.

edit: tried Chrome, no Metro support. Firefox, same issue. Wonder if there's even ONE browser that can work in Metro AND play embedded videos..

Aaaaaaaaaaaaand I'm back.

For some reason, IE in the Metro interface uses a "whitelist" for sites that may or may not use their flash support.
However, sites such as this are very unlikely to ever make that list, so you have to customise the browser.

What I did, is this: (copy-pasted from another site)

1.Switch to the Windows 8 desktop
2.Press Windows+R
3.Type "regedit" and press enter
4.Navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINESoftwareMicrosoftInternet Explorer
5.Right-click "Internet Explorer", click "New > Key".
6.Name the new key "Flash"
7.Right click "Flash", select "New > String value"
8.Name the value "DebugDomain"
9.Double-click "DebugDomain"
10.Enter the domain to test

Note:
You can only add a single domain at a time
Do not add http:// or https:// to the domain name
Do not add www domain name

End of copy/paste.

Tried it, checked it, and it works! I'm so happy now

@goou111: No idea really, I actually think you can only embed the videos from YouTube.
