This thread is pathetic. Obama was asked a question and he answered it.

The question was obviously staged so that he could make his comment. I'd be surprised if anything this man is involved in is spontaneous.

i'd be surprised if obama WASN'T criticized for anything he would say, especially here on ATS.
obama...war is bad.....what a socialist wussy, not wanting to protect america
obama....war is good....what a nazi warmonger...shelling out money to the military industrial complex

Yes, especially since ESPN gave Obama a full halftime live satellite interview with Chris Berman on the Monday Night Football on the eve of the November election. In that interview sports (the network's "lowly" stated purpose in the world) were scarcely touched. No, it was 10 minutes of ESPN, Berman, and presumably ESPN's parent corporation "Walt Disney" giving Obama a last minute, high profile, free stump speech.

Believe me, ESPN is no stranger to Obama (or the contents of his pockets, for that matter)

Hillarious! Does ESPN now join every other network aside from Fox News as a member of the evil Socialist-Propaganda Machine?? Disney too??

Did you ever consider that ESPN also interviewed Mitt Romney during Half-Time?

Or that John McCain also got his half-time interview in the previous election cycle?

NAH...that doesn't help the "evil ESPN" theme much does it. Facts get in the way.

It's amazing how people attack this president every time he opens his mouth. It's the guys opinion, no more no less. Talk about turning a mole hill into a mountain. I'm sure there's enough parents out there that have thought twice about having their son's play football. When you take into consideration how many high school football players have carried their football injuries into their adult life, not to mention those that have become paralyzed playing the sport, you have to ask yourself is it really worth it?

How many NFL football players have become paralyzed, or have had early dementia due to the excessive hard hits received on the playing field? I like watching football as much as the next guy, but we remove ourselves from the devastating injuries that occur to these players. There's a reason why they don't allow spear heading anymore in football, and it didn't stop people from watching and enjoying the sport.

The question I have, if you had two sons and one son became paralyzed or received a life changing serious injury playing high school football, would you want your other son to play the sport? I think not.

Somewhere in a parallel/alternate universe there is a thread currently running on ATS, which is chastising President Obama for evading the very serious question of brutal head injuries resulting from the game of American football.

Of course, that would have been the topic of this thread had Obama chose to make no comment on the question posed to him.

I'm thinking Snoopy needs to be banished to the doghouse for creating such an absurd thread.

Well, ATS IS a conspiracy oriented web site. If you want to be among people who worship Obama and his big government policies and ideas, you think you just might be in the wrong place?

You mean hazard pay isn't included anywhere in the multiple millions each player makes over their career? Can we get rid of this idiot yet?

Frankly, the conversation shouldn't even get that far when people have a right to choose to put themselves at risk.

It's amazing how people attack this president every time he opens his mouth.

What is amazing about it?

It is a two party system that has a stranglehold on American politics. They each rip and tear about the other team, but when it is all done, they both have their hands in the pocket of the American people.

If you look back through history, you will find the 'other' parties attacking political leaders throughout the years.

I don't see anything amazing about it.

Of course it's about controlling the narrative. That's what politics is.

Nothing but...

It's up to us, as citizens, concerned ones hopefully, to discern that, and help steer the narrative where it needs to go, which is to the real problems...whatever that problem is. If we don't? We get what we deserve.
