The abuse is not by the US but the Afghanistan government. I wonder if he was turning a blind eye to what was happening to avoid bigger problems.

I also seen this article about the airline.

tolonews.com...

Ariana Afghan Airlines will merge with the privately-owned Afghan airline Kam Air, airline officials said Saturday, although the final agreement has not been inked.

"I received a report which showed the Council of Ministers has decided to merge Kam Air with Afghanistan's air company, Ariana Afghan Airlines which has been taking the Afghan flag to different countries for more than fifty years," Azizullah Lodin, Head of High Office of Oversight and Anti-Corruption said. "The report mentioned that works for the matter are underway. They have written how much the losses would be. I reviewed it and wrote a letter to the president to review the matter as well," he added. Ariana Afghan Airlines is believed to have millions of properties both inside and outside the country

Is there some kind of dirty deal going on? Is that why the US is dropping the airline? Seems odd that the article is quoting "Head of High Office of Oversight and Anti-Corruption".

I'm glad you made it clear that you didn't mean the US military was the one doing the abuse. The US military can't transfer prisoners/detainees to a govt that will subject them to abuse. That's the problem.

While we may want to think about motives by others for Mattis's leaving, it could be, it just could be, that the man has earned his retirement after 40 years as a Marine. Isn't there some sort of military mandatory retirement age? It just could be that Beck needs to give it up and let the man retire with the respect, honor and dignity he deserves.

My thoughts is that there is nothing going on except a retirement. And Afghanistan being called out for its own corruption. After all how many suit cases of money did the Afghan president and his brother take to other countries? Afghanistan is corrupt and it has never changed. I don't think it ever will. That is why the US needs to do just like the General and retire from Afghanistan.

The purge of top ranking military officials continues. This time United States Marine Corps Gen. James “Mad Dog” Mattis was informed he was being replaced as commander of U.S. Central Command not by a phone call from Washington, but by a note handed to him by an aide,

link

… General Mattis was travelling and in a meeting when an aide passed him a note telling him that the Pentagon had announced his replacement as head of Central Command. It was news to him — he hadn’t received a phone call or a heads-up from anyone at the Pentagon or the White House.

According to the article the General was not enough of a yes man for President Obama.

Although there is also this interesting article from the Wall Street journal

KABUL—The U.S. military has blacklisted Afghanistan's largest private airline, alleging it is smuggling "bulk" quantities of opium on civilian flights to Tajikistan, a corridor through which the drugs reach the rest of the world. Kam Air was barred this month from receiving U.S. military contracts by U.S. Central Command chief Marine Gen. James Mattis, according to U.S. military officials.

"The U.S. will not do business with those who fund and support illicit activities," U.S. Army Maj.-Gen. Richard Longo, the commander of Task Force 2010, a coalition anticorruption unit, said in an interview. "Kam Air is too large of a company not to know what has been going on within its organization."

Afghan Airline Ferried Opium, U.S. Alleges

So who is Obama protecting? Nothing to see here folks, move along...

Ummmmm......the nation? If Obama was at the heart of some conspiracy, he would have been smart enough to avoid placing someone in command of a theatre that has some operation going on under it. You'd have to be an idiot to have some rogue general in command there. So, in short, things are exactly how they appear. Mattis lost his job because he was doing what was best for the mission, the men, and him. Obama disagreed....because the mission, the men, are not Obama's responsibility.

You don't start a conspiracy to assist in the flow of millions of pounds of opium, and then roll the dice and see who's going to command it. A side note-- presidents appoint generals.

This make absolutely no sense.

Glenn Beck is actually Independent, as is Oreilly.

It's really tiring listening to people moan about Beck because he exposes the most corrupt stuff in govt. It would be just as easy to dismiss anything Chris Matthews says, as he is loosely affiliated wiht the DSA. Except I am probably right about it. Still, the GOP is a much better representation of the original values of our Founding Fathers. Face it, the Democrats stand for Socialism, Marxism, redistribution of income, class warfare, and the Nanny State cradle to grave and the loss of freedom.

On topic, the source is not the issue here. You know what they say, if the messenger be an ant...Anyway Glenn mostly gets his news from the same MSM as Matthews. I hope POTUS finally makes enough people mad at him that they finally do something.

So you think Glenn just made up the story that his aide handed him his burn notice? So what's a little ol' forced eaerly retirement?

Okay first, we know deep down they are scared of Mattis. He probably would wound whoever came after him. Torture them then reap sweet revenge on the perps. So the heart attack gun is out of the question.

Second, I know TPTB are getting ready to flood the country with heroin. They have started their PR campaign here. Hell for days now The Lexington Herald~Leader has been talking about heroin is here cheaper than oxycotin & the high lasts longer. Front Page stuff. Headlines.

Heroin is coming appalachian peoples. Don't you worry New York it is coming to you too. Bloomberg is gonna take away hydrocodone & oxycotin from 'script pads. No more MDs writing more than a 3 day supply. Yoj wong need it a baggie of smack will be $15.

Mattis was a monkey wrench to HSBC & its International Banking & Laundering Cartels. They have been padding economies for decades. Taliban hurt them by almost eradicating poppie fields. Right Poppie Bush, Skull n Bones? Poppie? Hidden in Plain sight.
