If you have anything you don't like about anything he has says in this song, go ahead, i'd be happy to discuss.

Can't hurt to hear someone else's "voice of reason." Well, maybe it could.

I take it he finally understands the "game". He was a huge underground rapper until he went main stream. Seems he has learned his lesson. Good for him!!

This isn't as good as your underground **it but I think after a couple more songs you will finally get that back.

More music all about ego. It's all "I, ME, MY".

He might as well say "I am the best ever. My balls are so big. I am the king."

Why does this egomaniacal garbage pass as music? And yes, I am already familiar with this artist and this track. I have read the lyrics. It will not be in my playlist.

ETA: "Let a sucker pull out his heat like he darin' me to reply". This punk has never seen a barrel with intent. If he had, he wouldn't be writing about it this way. It's all bravado and ego that anyone over 21 ought to be able to see through. He likes his Moo Juice and the occasional Limousine.

You hear "I, ME, MY". It's his way of expressing. I look at the big picture he is painting.

Yikes.

Poop wrapped in pretty paper.

And the paper even stinks.

Sorry dude, made for a crew, to sell to a crew, by a crew.

I don't particularly think it's special. but then, I'm not in a crew.

See, this video (regardless of lyrical content) will not change my mind on rap music. I don't like it, I find the repetitive beats to be like a nail hammering into my head. Give me something progressive and metal, then I am in a happy place.

Someone gets it, yay!

I am open to hip hop and I use to enjoy heavy rap... NWA for example.
When I was a kid.

Now, this is just IQ point elimination noise.
The more I hear it, the lower my IQ gets.

There are many acclaimed alternative artists in the underground circuit who are more likely to shift a person's view about rap music from negative to positive. I wouldn't necessarily consider Chamillionaire to be that artist.

This list is mainly for people who are interested in hearing hip hop that is rarely played on the radio...

Aesop Rock
Blackalicious (Gift of Gab and Chief Xcel)
Busdriver
Flying Lotus
DJ Shadow
Eyedea
Fat Jon
Antipop Consortium (High Priest, Beans, Earl Blaize, and M. Sayyid)
Milo
Deltron 3030 (Del The Funky Homosapien, Kid Koala, and Dan The Automator)
Homeboy Sandman
MF DOOM
Sollilaquists of Sound
Saul Williams
Aceyalone
Greenhouse Effect (Illogic and Blueprint)
CYNE (Cise Star, Akin Yai, Enoch, and Speck)
Thavius Beck
Daedelus

I don't know if this is hip hop or rap. I don't venture into those genres. But this song is fantastic to me. Lyrically and all.

You're very "Anti-thread" any title.... I'd like to see your testimony for your comment.

I just want to see you and I on the same page for a change.

Do I need testimony?

The thread title said that video would change my mind.
It didnt.
So... what, you want me to get signatories, witnesses etc to back up my claim that it didnt change my mind???

I think you meant that 'generally' for rap, and not this particular song. I believe you didn't listen for more than 5 seconds.

Anyway my point is, he has no crew, anymore. He is now independent which is how he started out.
