O'course, the guy could be from a TLA wonk dressed up as Anonymous and make all sorts of rabid claims in a real similar video, then they'd have to
live with it. That's the problem with an 'organization' like that, you can pretend to be one and how can they deny it? I could see it going sort of
Fake Anonymous: "Arr, I am Anonymous - and I intend to cause death and destruction for the cause!"
Real Anonymous: "No no we didn't say that"
Fake: "Yes Yes we did! We are the real Anonymous! Fear us!"
Politician: "Today, Anonymous made a terroristic threat, and we have to spend a bazillion dollars to eradicate them - for the children"
Real: "But we DIDN'T SAY IT"
Fake: "Arr, yes we did, we will KILL THE CHILDREN. AND DOLPHINS. And we are going to HACK THE SUPER BOWL MWA HA HA!"
MSM: "Today, the super bowl was cut off by the evil terror cult Anonymous. And some children DIED (pic) Oh, the humanity!"
President:"We have to take immediate conclusive action to prevent any more football hacking, or child murdering. Therefore, we are moving to swiftly
register every user of the Internet. All mail, messaging and posting records will be collected by the government by sending them all to a central
point. For the children. And for FOOTBALL!"
MSM: (fawn, fawn, gush) "No one ever said the First Amendment was immune to reasonable regulation! The Founding Fathers never knew about teh
Intertubes! The first amendment was intended to make a free MSM, not to allow every idiot to post anything they wanted! It's for US, the NEWS MEDIA!
President: "This culture of free speech - it's an annoying holdover from ignorant heartlanders. They bitterly cling to the concept that they can say
whatever they please, while the more enlightened people - like me - understand that limits have to be imposed. You can't say the building's on fire,
for example. We all agree on that. It's obvious. But these people want to say things that we don't agree with, and that's just, well, we have to
change that culture. To do what we want, without question"
See? It could happen. It's still sort of funny but lately it's not so fiction-y any more.
