Yeah, there's no doubt that IF they attacked any portion of the US, they would be smacked down post haste as if by the Hand of God.

I just think that's a mighty big "if", and would/could not happen given the current state of technology they "enjoy". They are nothing but yappy little lapdogs, threatening the ankles of giants. All noise and smoke, and no shock wave.

On the matter of South Korea, if it weren't for them providing a buffer for Japan, I personally would pull out all US troops by 5 pm this evening, and leave them to their fate. I've not forgotten the South Koreans doing their own share of yapping in demonstrations and riots demanding the US to get out. At that point, that exact point, I would have smiled as I waved bye-bye.

Lucky I'm not in charge of anything, eh?

What took days and weeks to do not forgetting the months of planing.. could in today's world, happen in less than hour or day.

Yes, and that was before the stone age era of todays technology. I have a friend, who was serving in the navy. He couldn't say much about their technology(obviously), but would laugh every single time North Korea would pull this stunt. (He was stationed in the pacific) Its hard to believe that people would listen to a country that is hunting unicorns(S&F -> you will find the topic) and believe that they could even tangle with a nation like ours. Hell, I would put $50 saying that Pakistan could destroy them(and thats saying a lot).

But to amuse you, I will go to the store and buy some tin foil and make a few hats because obviously, we are going to get invaded by North Korea. LOL

There is this crazy leap in technology, I am sure you haven't heard of it since you are still living in WW2, but its called a Ballistic Missile Early Warning System, which would be able to tell where it was launched from(because I am quite sure the satellites that are monitoring are watching Iran and North Korea. I will continue to laugh, because any ICBM launched at us would get shot down by us or our allies.

There is this crazy new trend happening, and again I completely aware that you are still living in WW2, but its called studying. Try it.

Well, it would be pretty OBVIOUS if the early warning system seen a launch from, lets say North Korea, and then we get hit. Wouldn't it? Look up the patriot missile system, hell even JSTARS (which can track multiple targets at the same time, although its for ground units, it was just for a example. Put your tinfoil hat away, nothing is going to happen. I suggest to lay off the fauxnews and or Alex Jones.

China's actions are by design a method to cause concern and possible financial unstability in the U.S. Stock Markets are notoriously succeptable to any rumors or even whispers of possible instability.

The Chinese Communist Party is pursuing a duel plan where each part is in conflict with the other. The Communist Party has purchased Billions in U.S. Debt. .

This plan was designed to allow China to be able to sway U.S. Policy both at home and internationally.

The second plan was China investing heavily in U.S. Companies and other Financial Institutions.

This second part of the plan was designed to influence what and where U.S. Companies would purchase...as such influence allowed China to direct these Companies to purchase from China as well as allow China to create their own network of Supply Chains within the U.S. as a way to maximize profits.

The Chinese Communist Party's desires to influence, control and possibly even collapse the U.S. economy ran into a snag...the snag was China itself.

Chinese Communist Leaders first blunder was to purchas so much U.S. debt as now owning such debt it became apparent that if China was to start hostilities with the U.S...the U.S. would stop loan payments which were of immense amounts. The second blunder was if China was to start a war then it would loose the ability to make immense profits on both Imports of Chinese Goods as well as profits from Chinese owned Distribution Companies within the United States.

Add to this the ZERO possibility of China being Militarily capable of even winning a Battle against U.S. Forces nevermind a War...and the Chinese Communist Party realized it had effectivly painted itself in a corner as the loss vs. gain ratio for China weighs heavily on the Loss side of the scale if China were to start a war with the U.S.

Thus the Chinese Communist Party decided that because there is ABSOLUTELY NO GAIN in going to war with the U.S...it was imparitive to keep good relations with the United States but to now and then demonstrate Chinese self determination by being confrontational with old enemies like Japan that are now U.S. Allies but to not go so far as to incur the wrath of the U.S. Military.

This decision was greatly apposed by the Old Guard Chinese Communist Leadership which is absolutely Livid with the more moderate younger generation Communists that are much more praticle and were not even Born during the Korean War in which China participated in at the last minute with enormous numbers of troops to counter the U.S. and U.N. lead invasion and almost complete destruction of North Korea. These Old Guard Communists remember the untold Thousands of Dead Chinese Soldiers that were killed by U.S. Forces as they attacked well trained and supplied heavily armed U.S. Forces in Human Waves in battles that resulted in U.S. Machine Gun Barrels overheating and exploding or cracking from continuous firing and killing of so many Chinese that stories by U.S. Troops of Dead Chinese Bodies being stacked over 15 feet high as Chinese Human Waves climbed over their own dead in an effort to over run U.S. weapon emplacements as U.S. Soldiers kept firing until they either ran out of ammo or their gun barrels overheated.

Such Chinese Tactics would no longer work in a modern day conflict as China and North Korea which also has a large number of troops but like China has no viable way to Force Project them...would have to contend with a U.S. Military that has been designed to contain both nations with the U.S. Navy and Air Force which would easily be able to destroy any Chinese or North Korean forray into another Pacific or Pacific Rim Nation.

North Korea could First Strike South Korea and because Seoul...the South Korea Capitol...is so close to the DMZ...the North could cause large scale destruction...but this would only last for hours as a South Counter Strike along with U.S. Stealth Bomber Support...a U.S. Weapon System that the North cannot counter...would destroy the North's long line of artillary and AAA and AAM Batteries.

After such Anti-Aircraft Batteries were destroyed the North would be completely open for attack by the USAF and subsequent U.S. B-52H and B-1B Bombers would operate unapposed as North Korea Fighter Aircraft and Bases would have either been destroyed by U.S. Missile and Bombers or easily shot down by 3 Generations in advancement U.S. and South Korean Fighter Aoircraft.

The North's only possibility for gaining any South Korean Territory would be to have ready a Half Million Troops and all at once breach the DMZ and rush as fast as they could and as deep as they could into South Korean Territory. This would make fighting Northern Troops problematic as they would be in the South's Cities and population. However this would be detected by U.S. Satellites. Split Infinity

Very good point (and Star4U) but I have no doubt that NORAD knows every satellite in orbit around the planet, along with where it came from and what its supposed to be vs. what it actually is. U.S. military has planned countless scenarios and is prepared to counter at a moment's notice. I know I won't lose any sleep over it.

They can also shoot down any satellite they want, when they want within a moment's notice.

The U.S. has several times given Aid to North Korea in the form of Food, Oil and Medical. The North has signed...on multiple occasions...several treaties to dismantle their Nuclear Program...treaties to which the North has broken...EVERY ONE!

You are blaming the U.S.?

It is not the United States' responsibility to feed North Korea...a Country we were at WAR with and a Country that REFUSES to sign the agreement TO END THE KOREAN WAR.

China is the North's benefactor as it was China that was defending the North against the U.N. and U.S. Forces that were fighting North Korea AFTER it INVADED THE SOUTH.

Here is a Country that has created it's own problems...killed MILLIONS of South Koreans and killed MILLIONS of it's own people as well as the FACT that North Korea is responsible for the Korean War as it was the North that started hostilities by invading the South.

For you or ANYONE to defend a Regime that teaches it's children that it's leader is a LIVING GOD and it is an HONOR to STARVE TO DEATH for that leader as it is his plan and wisdom that you should die so in an overall effort to battle the South and the United States...well then you really don't know what you are talking about.

You have also missed the statement that Soros made about Obama was not moving fast enough to make us a socialist nation . If North Korea can put up a satellite soon they will be able to put up nukes and they will pass over the US . If they can detonate them in space above the middle of the USA , we would be hurt worse than if they bombed NY. A 1.3 Megaton or several smaller detonations at 350 to 600 miles above the earth would kill most all of our communications, cars ,trucks, all electric power and we would be in a world of hurt in the Northern Hemisphere . Recovery time from such an event most likely be several years . How long can you survive without food , medicine or water in populated areas . And if they could , how many others already are poised to do the same thing ?

The vast majority of South Koreans that one sees on TV protesting and demanding U.S. Military Forces to leave South Korea are young and were not even born when the North and South, U.S. and U.N. were at war. These people were even born much later than the period of time after the Korean War to see the resulting devestation or feel the agony that is a family loosing a loved one in the war.

But if you happen to watch what happened shortly after the recent North Korean Military attack on that South Korean island...the South Korean population was STUNNED and all eyes turned to the United States for answers as they asked...What do we do now?

It has always seemed funny to me that people will scream...Get out U.S.A.! But when things start to go bad they scream...HELP! LOL!

Exactly... Every one screams and shouts, "US..STOP BEING THE WORLD POLICE"... But when the SHTF in their own country and they don't have the US to protect them lets see how they handle the situation... The US can handle ANY situation out there if China, Russia, NK, whomever want to go war with us we have the resources and ability to be able to hold our own with zero help. The question is, could our allies say the same thing? Could they hold their own without us or without anyone?

Anyone cover the possibility that NK is testing Irans warhead - just speculating. Seems these two are hand in hand working together on both warhead and missle technology.

Another thing to worry of is SRBM and IRBM missile(s) being launched from shipboard platform off either coast. Sure satallites would pickup engine flare but there'd be only a few minutes warning if any at all before an impact. It would take a long time and much effort to prove just who was responsible if at all depending on whether it was aimed at city or designed for EMP, the latter worries me more.

U.S. Satellite Detection is very capable of detecting a Satellite in orbit that would have any Radioactive Material in it even if such material was shielded.

Point is we would KNOW if North Korea or any Nations satellites were to be Nuclear Powered nevermind the large amount of Uranium or Plutonium needed for a Orbital Nuclear Weapon.

There is an International Ban on Nuclear Weapons based in Space and for any country to do this would result in a U.S. Space Command action to either intercept such an Orbiting Weapon with a U.S. SM-3 ASAT Missile that would be capable by means of a Kinetic Non-Explosive Kill Intercept...precisely destroy part of the Nuclear Satellite and force it into orbital decay calculated for it's reentry over Ocean Water.

Such precision Intercept Capability was recently demonstrated as a U.S. SM-3 ASAT precisly targetted and performed a Kinetic Non-Explosive Kill Intercept on a full tank of Hydrazine...which is a highly toxic satellite booster fuel...on a failing U.S. Satellite.

Since it was possible that this failing satellites Hydrazine Tank could possibly survive reentry and crash in a populated area...which would cause the Hydrazine Tank to rupture and possibly kill many people...it was decided that this problem offered the oppertunity for the U.S. Space Command to live test the SM-3 ASAT Missile.

The Non-Explosive Version of the SM-3 ASAT was launched at sea from a USN. Ship and intercepted and impacted precisely destroyed the failing satellites Hydrazine tank which was confirmed by an observing telescope that video recorded the SM-3 intercept of a satellite in orbit traveling at a speed of over 14,000 Miles Per Hour.

It is obviously preferable to control to an extent where a Nuclear Weaponized Satellite would crash after being shot down from orbit but in the even a country was to be able to release a Nuke from orbit at a ground target...the SM-3 could still destroy such a weapon before it would detonate.

Besides the SM-3 ASAT the U.S. Military and U.S. Space Command has at it's disposal the Direct Energy Weapon that is the FEL or Free Electron Laser which will soon be installed on all U.S. Navy Carriers ans Aegis Cruisers. Two Land Based FEL's are currently operational and plans to install one in an Aircraft are ongoing as the FEL is Nuclear Powered...Reactor Weight is an issue for Flight.

If you're right, and China would back North Korea in a war vs the US, then their leadership are by far, the dumbest people ever to live on the planet.iterally, the sum total IQ of every member of their leadership would have to be less than 70. Seriously, there is no way more than 3 people in all of China are that stupid, and that is assuming they have 3 people who had 90% of their grey matter replaced with spaghetti, as an experiment.

I think I made my sarcastic, over-the-top point, but, we'll, its true. China isn't stupid, nor are they looking to end their nation forever just to save half an island of which they gain nothing from.
