thank you everyone ... for all the links

this presents an interesting twist for the region.
personally i think he is posturing for China but then again, maybe this launch will succeed as the fore-told accidental EMP ??

yeah i know, how can an emp be accidental ... but then again, i suppose it could be possible given the right 'accident' eh ?

I know for a fact that we have our most advanced submarines with interceptor capabilities stationed right off their coast constantly. This short sighted dictator has not a chance even if his "bottlerocket" makes it off the launchpad. You curious how advanced NK is? look at the google view of the NK country at night and notice that most of the country is just dark, very scary looking for 2013. If the average North Korean could just see that image compared to the rest of the world they would revolt right then. This is the fruit of an extreme socialist society. They are their own worst nightmare and are completly blind to that fact.

North Korea had better be very careful with the wording of it's press releases as it is one thing to say it will test a Nuke and another to say it will target the U.S. Still the N. Korean Missiles are such junk that it is highly unlikely such a missile could even hit the U.S. as well as such a low tech. ICBM would be an easy target for U.S. Missile Defense.

North Korea has not even demonstrated that it can even properly calculate and calibrate it's Nuclear Triggers as in past Nuclear Tests only a partial amount of the Nuclear Fuel detonated.

This latest statement by the North is sure to piss off China which is sick and tired of making excuses for the North as well as how Chinese Military Leaders see that a threat by the North that the U.S. would find as a threat to National Security could be used as a premise for a U.S./South Korean Invasion.

North Korea has thousands of artillary in range of Seol and a large number of Soldiers and this in the past was seen as something that could cause great damage to South Korea. However with the advent of Heavy U.S. Stealth Bombers...the United States Air Force could fly in undetected and destroy the vast majority of these Weapons as the B-2's would be followed by low flying B-1B's and eventually B-52H's.

Non-Nuclear EMP's would most definitley be used to render any and all North Korean Tanks and mechanised vehicles innert.

F/A-22's would be given the duty to destroy Nuclear Missile Sites as the F/A-22 with it's two internal Bomb Bays would be well suited to fly in to the North completely undeterted and drop precision munitions on such sites.

But the real danger is the tens of thousands of North Korean Artillary that has been placed right at the edge of the DMZ. This is why B-2's would be used to strike the front line rather than be used to strike Missile Sites.

I agree with you, I don't think they are a danger to the mainland with their current technology.

Question though. What about Hawaii or Guam?

Or just the fact that they may fire one and hit land somewhere creating a catastrophe.

I think it's scary any way you look at it.

I am mot sure what threat they are talking about? The statement does not threaten a attack only that they will keep doing what they are doing.

www.kcna.co.jp...

And the link is odd. .jp would be Japan. So is this a Japanese news station? Or is Japan just hosting it?

That article you have is Karean News, the propaganda arm of the North Korean governent.

First clue as to who wrote it and why is when they say their launches have been successful and even the evil US has been in awe of them.

Oh, my stomach hurts from laughing.

The present situation clearly proves that the DPRK should counter the U.S. hostile policy with strength, not with words and that the road of independence and Songun chosen by the DPRK is entirely just.

Scientists and technicians of the DPRK will develop and launch many more application satellites including communications satellite and more powerful carrier rockets essential for building an economic giant in the same spirit and mettle as were displayed in successfully launching satellite Kwangmyongsong 3-2.

And this

The DPRK will continuously launch satellites for peaceful purposes to conquer space and become a world-level space power.

The revolutionary armed forces of the DPRK will reliably defend the security and sovereignty of the country and safeguard the regional peace and stability with the might of Songun. They are full of the steadfast will to take a bold step to root out the source of provocations the hostile forces seek to continue against the DPRK. No force on earth can block the great people proud of independence, powerful thanks to Songun politics and advancing in unity, convinced of truth.

I'm sure

'' to target the us with our nuclear test ''

is definately in the top 3.

Need joint maneuvers with South Korea and Japan, just a bit off the coast, with a GBU-43/B detonating 1/2 mile above the surface.

And now you also know why the B-2's are moving back in to Guam.

My problem is trying to find the original comments I keep running into websites ran in Japan and even Chicago here in the US. But I am not finding anything from North Korea. Everything circles from the US, Canada and Japan. Can you help find the article or statement from North Korea? I can only find crap from KFA Com Sec. Hell they even have a forum ran in Chicago members only. I would like to see something real and not propaganda.

The movement of station of any number of B-2's is a BIG DEAL. The Russians watch this VERY closely and you can BET the Chinese do as well. This could be a sign to the Chinese to Knock it Off as far as their latest stupidity in Japan is concerned...but I think this deployment is a bit too quick as far as a reaction to North Korea.

Still...it will make the North...Nervous.

Although the North Korean Missiles have the range...their accuracy is something else entirely. Look...these Missiles are akin to throwing a Lawn Jart! LOL!

They are absolutely inaccurate in the extreme to such a point that Australia requested the U.S. Navy on station to shoot down one of these North Korean ICBM's as they were to be test fired into the Pacific and Australia was worried that one of these Missiles could go so off course that it would hit Australia!

The chance they could hit a small island is low. Even if they were shot at North America...they would possibly hit Canada or come down in the Arctic Circle.

Perhaps the Chinese should remind them that over here if you point a gun at a cop they can pre-emptively shoot and kill you even if your gun is not loaded....let alone fire first or not. That doctrine of pre-emption when threatened could be employed here....but instead of "john doe, 'suicide' by cop" it will be "DPRK, death by stupidity." Not that I am advocating a potential escalation but these sabre rattling exercises end up being who has the bigger sabre.

Seriously, just read their government newspaper.....they actually had an article in there telling the people that the New Years speech that "Dear Leader" gave was the subject of a three day symposium in Mexico, that people from around the world went to Mexico to study and praise the speech!

I wish people would wake up to what living under a socialist dictatorship is really like.
