Britain's most senior medical adviser has warned MPs that the rise in drug-resistant diseases could trigger a national emergency comparable to a catastrophic terrorist attack, pandemic flu or major coastal flooding.
Dame Sally Davies, the chief medical officer, said the threat from infections that are resistant to frontline antibiotics was so serious that the issue should be added to the government's national risk register of civil emergencies.
She described what she called an "apocalyptic scenario" where people going for simple operations in 20 years' time die of routine infections "because we have run out of antibiotics".
The supply of new antibiotics has dried up for several reasons, but a major one is that drugs companies see greater profits in medicines that treat chronic conditions, such as heart disease, which patients must take for years or even decades. "There is a broken market model for making new antibiotics," Davies told the MPs
Professor Dame Sally Davies is Chief Medical Officer (CMO), the UK Government’s principal medical adviser and the professional head of all Directors of Public Health. As well as being CMO, Dame Sally is also Chief Scientific Adviser for the Department of Health.

That's true. Also, back in the 90's, doctors were over prescribing broad spectrum antibiotics for every thing. My oldest daughter's immune system was ruined this way and now as an adult she has a hard time fighting things off. I take full responsibility for this. In my ignorance, I thought the doctor knew best back then.
I understand the use of antibiotics on sick animals but not the healthy ones and that is what is happening.

I had a drug & anti-biotic resistant type of MRSA and I was convinced I was the victim of some new kind of bio-weapon. I threw everything, including the kitchen sink, at it, nothing worked, only pissed it off more.
I suffered severely for 2 1/2 years with it. I caught it from a mentally challenged client I worked with who was taking anti-biotics & a handful of psychotropics daily, so his strain he gave me was already resistant to anything out there.
I finally destroyed the MRSA type virus with Colloidal Silver. 1-2 glasses per day for 2-3 weeks.... gone!
I am still pissed that not 1 doctor suggested I try that, I had to find out about it doing my own research.

This is a problem partly due to the fact of over usage of antibiotics used on animals that we eat.....

Boosting the immune system of every animal makes them grow faster (no need to fight infections) and permits living conditions to be worst and especially more animals in less space. The goal is to potentiate profitability...
Even World Health Organization director general Margaret Chan warned earlier this year that the "post-antibiotic era" is getting closer every day and would represent "an end to modern medicine as we know it" in which "things as common as strep throat or a child's scratched knee could once again kill."

It's not only the antibiotics in the meat that were eating, but in the soaps, and other cleaning agents we use in our everyday lives. Not to mention the antibiotic medication that are overly prescribed by doctors on a daily basis. We've declared war on everyday bacteria and have ended up handicapping our own immune system because of it.

I have seen oil of oregano kill off a staph infection when no amount of antibiotics would work. I have seen it kill chronic skin cellulitis in people with diabetes. I myself killed strep throat with it. I keep a stock on hand of the oregano oil, always. It's our go to, whenever we get sick. The other day my husband started coming down with cold symptoms. Two drops in water and it knocked that right out.
Glad you are doing better.... This site here offers natural remedies for some ailments if you are interested.... www.earthclinic.com...

Colloidal silver, home made, destroyed this 2 1/2 year infection. What do you want me to say besides cure?
