Well, we need to look at this from experience of how the military is set up. The Air Force, as far as ground troops who are combat MOS are maybe 15%
of the active and reserves. This is guess work from experience. The Army and Marine Corps, the brunt of ground operations are about 75% combat MOS.
The Navy have maybe the same as the Air Force. Then factor in air support which all branches have, except the Army I think, and the naval support and
we still have a pretty solid standing military. And if you look at it this way, you could take the motto "Every Marine a rifleman" and bump the
Corps up to 100% combat arms. But those numbers are manpower, not combat ready soldiers/airmen/marines/sailors.
