So let me get this straight. I've heard people piss and moan about how politicians should send their loved ones to fight "their" wars and yadda, yadda....and this young man, stepped up and did it on his own accord....so now we need to find some other way to demonize him? Some of you people are never satisfied with anything....

I'm sorry...but your first posted link was from a website that on its homepage showed an article in top stories that was entitled "Comments From Prince Harry Display The Mental Sickness Of Royals/Elite".....I hardly think that any articles about the Royal's are going to be a credible or unbiased based on that observation........

The second link was a media article and you offered no insight or understanding about the report or that there may have been wider issues to consider........

Get it right, I hate the royals, but he said nothing controversial. There's no great horror in comparing helictopter controls to an xbox. Could be that Brits have a sense of humour and realise when something is said tongue in cheek, regardless of personal thoughts on the kid

And it's typical of frankly any Brit to defend this scum inbred family for absolutely no other reason than they've been brainwashed since birth to do so. Such a proud people brits are yet refuse to get off their #ing knee to known tyrants.

There are many Brits who don't like the royals and think they're scroungers. Don't assume the Brits in this thread who can read and use common sense are supporters of monarchy.

Scotland is part of Britain. The Scottish people are British.

They marry underage kids and throw rocks at womans heads YET YOU CALL HARRY BRAINWASHED.... Bizarre statement if ever iv read one.

Aren't most of you Americans here due to British/Irish jism some time way back when boats were made of wood and Indians roamed the plains... Most Brits don't defend the royals it's more about defending our soldiers doing the dirty work of the American government . In all fairness Westminster should grow some knackers and finger up the rest of the world and fetch back our army/navy for when it's really needed.. My opinion and purely for fun my first sentence re jiz

Yea... Theyre bad because the US/NATO says so right?
WTF are we still even doing there, besides guarding poppy fields and chinese miners?

I just think it's interesting that the aristocratic families in England still honor the tradition of sending their sons to serve while in the US the sons of our Congressmen and Senators routinely DO NOT serve and even when they do it's common for them to be given special privilege to keep them off the front lines. There are a few exceptions, of course and I don't want to disparage them just because they share something in common w/ the others.

Some aspects of combat do seem a lot like modern video games (even though that's not actually what he said) because the games are trying to simulate reality.

Until the opponents in the games shoot back w/ real bullets the difference is substantial, however.

The 'mass genocide by the Queen' story is absolute and utter garbage, total and utter crap. Sheesh, it can be verified that the Queen wasn't even in Canada at the time.

Why are you so prepared to put your trust in outlandish, unsubstantiated claims but refuse to accept logical fact? Deny ignorance doesn't mean believe everything you know.

If your talking about William, he actually flies for the Royal Air Force search and rescue. I think It's kinda of like the coast guard search and rescue here in the USA. Both these young men serve in the Military and I commend them for their service, neither of them have to do this and I think it says something about them that the choose too.

I think Harry gets a bad rap because he's a bad boy, But think about it, the chances of him ever becoming king are slim to none, especially once Kate has her baby, yet he still has to play the role of "prince" I'm sure if he could just drop the whole royal prince business and be a regular solider he would.

Why can't he? Sorry I don't know a whole lot about royal topics. Will they literally imprison him if he attempts to deny his responsibility as a prince? So he can never drop his title, move out of the royal palace, and make a public announcement that he just wants to be a regular guy? If he asked to be treated like a normal human being, they would refuse him this wish? If I was imprisoned that way against my will, even with all the fame and wealth included, I would hate that so much...

Even if I felt comfortable in my duties and enjoyed my surroundings and everything, it would just irritate me to no end, just knowing that, if I wanted to, I could not pick up and go at the drop of a hat. I guess my mind works kinda funny like that. I believe people should have freedom. We should plan a search n rescue mission of our own.. to free poor harry from his shackles! The guy is so mentally screwed by this conundrum, the only way for him to stay sane is to engage in wild Vegas-style sex parties, in Vegas, and slaughter foreigners just like in a video game.

Won't be surprised to see this one slaughter his way to the throne. I wouldn't blame him... "imprison me since birth, will you society? Well then I'll see to it that I become King...and when that happens, I'll let the real 'games' begin and show you all the true meaning of PAIN!!!!!!!" Get it? Games? Because he kills people just like in the video game.

There should really be a study on the psychological effects of royalty. It's more than just wealth and fame, but you could start by doing a study one the effects of just wealth. And then wealth and fame combined. But royalty would be a whole other animal... Knowing that your recent ancestors controlled life or death at a whim. And perhaps in some ways still do, or at the very least could. As could any person with enough wealth, popularity, influence, etc. I would love to sit down for a couple of hours with a true monarch of the past, or better yet, a pharoe or other person worshipped as a dirty.

It would take a strong mind not to be drastically changed, and so, you would encounter many interestingly twisted minds. This is not to say that they would not know how to act "normal" around certain people. But their inside thoughts would tell a much different story.

It's a big enough stretch of the mind for me to even accept the concept of rich people owning numerous gigantic homes and a fleet of expensive cars and it all sits unused 99% of the time while people starve and freeze to death. But for some, having way more than you could ever use while others suffer is just basic economics.

Yes, I know, greed. But...why?

Sorry to the person I replied to, only the top part about harry and if he may or may not abandon his station was meant solely for you, although, like any other member, you are welcome to reply to the other portion. Except for this particular paragraph. If you responded to this paragraph it would embarass me a little and cause me to feel reeeeally awkward. Don't ask.

It's not a case of that mate, it's a simple thing and the question is, what do these people do for the rest of humanity? The answer, apart from living off the taxes of the working classes, is absolutely nothing

What do you want, salt and vinegar for that chip on your shoulder?
How many charities are you patron of and through your patronship actually raise awareness? Are you in the forces right now, I'm guessing not (although feel free to lie, it is an anonymous forum), do you run anything like the Duke of Edinburgh Awards Scheme that gives young people extra skills and helps them find their way to build their own business? Perhaps you work directly with other Commonwealth countries to build business opportunities?

Or do you just like to moan? I'm thinking it's the latter. Take time if you can be bothered which I know you won't to look at the cost of the civil list and the amount paid back via tax. You would probably be surprised but, yeah, you just like to moan don't you.

With Harry serving in the British Army you must be describing the rest of his family, unless of course you consider every other service person as 'living off the taxes of the working classes' when they get their pay each month?
I am against a constitutional monarchy and any funding of the royal family, but that is a separate issue to belittling active service by a man because he was born into a particular family.

You're damn right, these parasites are a problem and if the shallow people who believe in the monarchy think they need them and they make humanity better, then fine to them. However, as far as I'm concerned, they do nothing, you got your opinion and I have mine and the Duke of Edinburgh is a racist.

Couldn't care less mate, you wanna join up for active service then go for it, my problem is not with the armed forces, it's the reasoning behind why they go to wars, the real reasons and not what we are told by the MSM.

Additionally, are you actually trying to say by signing up, it has made him a better man? Damn, I wanna be the best, I'm gonna go kill some Taliban from my Apache gunship

Shallow? Your responses are shallower than a puddle but of course they would be. As you say, we are all entitled to our opinions, why not try and give yours some depth and fact and they would be worth thinking about, At the moment they just seem like they are coming from someone who feels they are entitled to more than they are getting and is looking at someone to blame.

Maybe you should focus on the actual OP and if you want to start a thread of your own, give it a go.

I earn every single piece of everything I get and I expect no favours. And as per my words, "shallow" indeed covers the monarchy lovers
