I just saw this while watching CNN:

source: www.cnn.com...
A freak tie result in the U.S. presidential election could mean the House of Representatives would choose the next president, a scenario that would favor Republican incumbent Bush.

But since the Senate would decide the vice presidency, Bush could end up with Democrat John Edwards.

Now how would THAT work out? I can't imagine a President and Vice Pres from different parties, although it has happened before just not in my lifetime.

From what they said on tv, computers have "simulated" the election and found 3 dozen different ways that would result in a tie. Just goes to show how close this election is going to be..

latest polls on www.electoral-vote.com have Kerry barely ahead of Bush, by just six electoral votes, this makes a tie seem very much possible

edit: the results on the website are now much different my guess is because of new polls, Kerry is now ahead 288 to 223, it's still gonna be a close one

Right now, both mainstream candidates are in a statistical tie! IMO, it would be so funny if there were an electoral tie

www.cnn.com...

although here, it has Kerry well ahead of Bush

www.electoral-vote.com...

...oh, I just can't wait til Tuesday, so much controversy!
I'll just have to stick to the Daily Show's coverage to keep up
