Geez couldn't be that this guy is trying to make money? Wouldn't be that at all, it's also become 'trendy' for people to call Obama a terrorist etc. while raking in millions of dollars to contribute nothing themselves. To me this is a ploy to make money just like any other joke rapper on stage. They push the envelope to, as you said, become number 1 on twitter. If Lupe didn't believe in the American industrial complex he wouldn't have a twitter account and would give 99% of his money to charity.

Who is Lupe Fiasco? Never heard of him. Probably needed the publicity. Oh, and by the way, I'm not an Obama supporter, before anyone starts in on me. I voted for Gary Johnson.

Lupe Fiasco is one of the most prominent rappers of our time. Extremely popular, talented, and well respected, right up there with all the other big rappers. Definitely didn't need the publicity, and it's really crazy that he did what he did.

Come on, I like Lupe...but he is hardly one of the most prominent hip hop artists of any time.

And why is it really crazy...this is what Lupe has been rapping about since 2006.

It's similar to Rage Against The Machine...I'm sure if they were still recording today, they would be singing anti-Obama songs because they are against the government and our political system. Their target (and Lupe's) will be who ever is in charge at the time.

I think a lot of people are trying to equate Lupe's rant as a pro-right wing rant...when in fact it is quite the opposite.

Sorry, I'm a fan of Rosario Mayhem, not Lupe Fiasco.

Never heard of him...thanks for this.
[classic rock girl here...]

Rapper Lupe Fiasco was thrown offstage and escorted off the premises of a Washington, D.C. concert hall during a pre-inauguration concert Sunday night, after going on an anti-war, anti-Obama rant, according to concertgoers.

So much for freedom of expression......
If he was bashing the republicans they probably would have left him alone.

At least with him being black, he can't be labeled a racist.
Except he defamed the demi-God Obama......

Huh.. never heard of this guy. No doubt most will just chalk him up to be a "conspiracy theorist".. instead of someone who's trying to get people to question things. I could be wrong, but I doubt he'll make it far in the industry.

Not sure if you're serious? Otherwise yeah you're wrong. He has made it far in the industry. About as far as you can make it.

Nail on head there.

The word on the street is Bush is stupid, an idiot....can barely tie his shoes....but he is the mastermind of his administration?

Then you have high IQ, smarter than anyone in the world Obama and he's just a puppet?

Ooooooo. Kkkkkkkkkk.

are you serious? you've never heard of Lupe Fiasco? he's one of the biggest rappers around and he's very political, he's not one of those rims and bling and bitches rappers. i dont think you need to worry about if he will do well in the industry, he's huge.

Ive been listening to his stuff for years and there has always been a political element to his work

Because Obama is not the man running things, he's merely the messenger.
Obama is being handed dossiers of locations and people to hit. He doesnt press the 'launch' button, he doesnt decide who and what and when and where to hit, he simply recieves his orders and signs his name.

The war against the middle east started in 2000, we've had 2 different presidents, handfuls of generals, sec's of defences etc... what is going on isnt something the 'government' controls, they merely stamp the pages and make it official.

As for bush?

Bush's father was part of the plan
Bush's grand father was part of the plan
Bush's VP was a big part of the plan
Bush's entire government is still instrumental in the things happening today

Bush is 10x more relevant to the 'agenda' than Obama.

Obama is 10x more relevant to the wallstreet theft of your nation, so if you had of said Obama is the biggest CROOK by assocation then I'd have agree'd, however he isnt the driving terrorist you (and this rapper) claim him to be!

just sayin!

Doesnt matter
He is complacent and a mass murderer on top of subversive

Very happy to see someone start a thread about this. To add to the Op Lupe Fiasco seems to have chosen the side of the people. I wasn't so sure for a while because of some of the company he keeps. This happening to him during a performance is significant, because not more than a few weeks ago Lupe cancelled his Twitter account and just a few days ago received word of the indefinate cancellation of his upcoming LP Food and Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album.

It is obvious that he went to this concert with the full intention to speak truth. When he was shut down he was performing a very Politically charged song called "the words I never said" from his 2011 Lasers album.. Since 2005 Lupe has been speaking more and more about these types of world issues. Don't hate the man for wanting to send a positive message to the people rather than conforming like the rest of the industry and rhyming about Blunts, Crack, diamonds, cars, and Hoes. Every album since his first seem to get more and more socially aware songs on the tracklist. His most recent effort which has been unfortunately canceled is actually easily available to download through torrent sites or you can listen to the songs on you-tube. I strongly recommend not just fans of rap music, but all fans of good music to do yourself the favor and listen to Food and Liquor 2: The Great American Rap Album and prepare to be WOWed by artistry in its purest form, the album is an instant classic.

Not to get off topic, but I saw Cannible Corpse open from Motorhead once. BRUTAL!
And all you hip hop heads need to get hip and listen to some Gil Scott Herron for the real thing instead of that teeny Bopper stuff.
