Many people used to worship the sun as their God and Satan is also given the name bringer of light and it's not to illuminate you but infiltrate you to disobey God.

Adam and Eve Attend First "Sunday Service"

1. On what day did God create man? Gen. 1:27, 31. And did God's holy SABBATH DAY immediately follow? Gen. 2:1-2.

COMMENT: God created man on the sixth day of the week. And on the next day -- the SEVENTH DAY, God's HOLY commanded Sabbath (REST) DAY (Gen. 2:2) -- God instructed the man and woman. He revealed the Sabbath and instructed them in His other commandments and laws on that FIRST Sabbath Day (Gen. 2:16-17).

2. But what immediately happened on the very NEXT DAY AFTER the Sabbath Day of God's instruction? Did Satan at once begin talking to God's new creation on the first of the six ORDINARY days of God's week? Gen. 3:1-4.

COMMENT: Satan, the adversary -- the one who REBELS against God -- LOST NO TIME! He was at once having his own "church" service -- NOT on God's holy commanded Sabbath Day -- but on the day FOLLOWING God's Sabbath. He was conducting his own "church" service on the FIRST day of the week -- on Sunday!

Satan was already having his own "church" service on the day which was LATER to be tagged SUNDAY by his human instruments.

And Satan, the serpent, was ever so subtly INSPIRING DISOBEDIENCE to God's commands during this, the first "Sunday service"!

Taken from an online bible lesson.

Impatience is another ruiner of good things.

If God was akin to Santa Claus, we would mostly be on the naughty list.

We're like impatient little children who can't wait til Christmas Day to open our presents.

When we do that, our parents get angry with us, don't they?

We may even get coal in our stockings for the next Christmas or two.

Wtf are you even on about? We're 5 year olds now and God is giving us coal for having opinions or seeking truth?

How are we reforming reality when we're too busy destroying belief with needless questions?

"Where is The Author?", we ask.

"Why is The Author writing such a horrible story?" we ask.

Maybe The Author is trying to write a good story, but the characters are all being ruined by miserable beings with no real imagination. Not saying you specifically, just in general.

I think the more relevant question is, Why are we making laws and legislation based on this rather poorly written piece of fiction?
Why did that guy just murder that other person because of this book?
Why are we missing 2 towers in new York because of someone whom thinks differently about the books interpretation?
Why is there a nightclub in Israel with a bunch of dead tweens from a suicide bomber because the bomber thought the book said some bits that were different than the clubbers interpretation?

These are the questions that are most important.

Ya, I say we bin the book..its full of plot holes, unbelievable characters, and its been rewritten so many times its not like its the original story to begin with.

So... many blame God for pain and suffering.

Why does a Loving God allow for Evil?

Because, it allows for a good story to exist.

You might as well say "Why does space and time exist?"

So we can live and move and have our being.

If it was a convenient story, it wouldn't be a story at all.

It would be a blank piece of paper with the instructions "Write your own damn story then if you think you can do better!"

Perhaps that's the lesson to be learned from this stretch in history.

The Author says "Ya know what? I'm tired of you thinking you're so smart. Here ya go. Let's see what happens when I sit back and do nothing."

How about why have more people been killed in the name of God than any disease or war? How about religion being the number 2 reason of unnatural death among humans... with only Government ahead of it? How about our lives aren't supposed to be some screwed up story made up to please God? How about, as a human, you take some self worth into consideration. How about we can and should learn how to live our lives on our feet instead of on our knees?

And that is the point
Humanity should demand the blank piece of paper

So we can have the freedom to make our own story to begin with instead of other being's storys.

We want our own story now!

Its not about better or worse, its about it being ours.

Well if your opinion is so great... let's see something worth believing.

God has the ability to reflect that question right back onto you.

So yes... we ARE 5 year olds getting coal in our stockings.

I, for one, don't blame The Author.

We have the blank sheet of paper. It's called Earth, and we're pissing it away.

God never destroyed the world. We did.

Why do you think you're so entitled to anything, in the first place?

What makes you the good shepherd?

Don't want to be a shepherd
Don't want to be a sheep.

I am a wolf!

kidding, I am neither shep nor sheep..I want the freedom to find my own way wherever It may lead...
Isn't that the whole point of having free will? to not have a shepherd pushing you on a narrow course?

1) We are not "pissing it away". You may be. I grow tomatos

and if we are going with the bible...I would like to introduce you to a fine boatmaker called Noah...ask him about it...the world and God..erm..ya, not on the greatest of terms overall. Bit of a flooding issue left unresolved.

This line of thinking is a well-known logical fallacy called appeal to popularity Just because a lot of people believe it doesn't mean it's true, only that it's popular.

I find it funny how you rely on the popularity of your religion to state your case yet when someone talks about the "narrow gate", you say its popularity doesn't matter. That's a double standard.

No this, " Line of thinking " only points to the most logical line of thinking. Without making any claims to wrong or right true or false.

Correct, sir.

We both agree, actually.

It's kind of funny...

Our "free will" is limited to our circumstances.

We are humans. That is our circumstance.

So, in a way... we are still a part of the story whether we like it or not.

It's just a matter of trusting that the story gets better. There's no good story without suspense, or suspense-builders...

Religion...

Well it's like Groucho Marx once said:

"Any group which would have me as a member isn't a group I'd want to join."

Although it's good to learn about religion with an open mind and open heart, and not be TOO critical.

There's no requirement to believe anything except what you want to believe.

You have that to contribute to the story. What's wrong with merely co-writing?

I like having friends to help me make something better than I could think of myself.

You know what I'm saying?

Remember the good ol' days when people used to support their posts with facts and OPs? Now all anyone has to do is say ANYthing, and it's all good.

Hell, I even remember when I used to think the goal WAS to have a thread make noise and generate interest. . .these days, the only reason something's on the home page is because it's crap. Now, I'm not a religious person, but if I'm going to say that God is the Devil, I darn well better have some compelling information to follow that OP, ya know?

Maybe you might take a peek at the OT... and you'd see how the OP might have came to his conclusions?

That's all we're talking about in the end, is having real relationships, not just a dictator who says "join the group or be forgotten!"

Why DO we have to join the group? Their stories are not very good, are they?

We give somebody the power to completely create their own story, and what do they do?

They almost always in the end FORCE their story upon others.... right?

I trust that your story will work with mine.

If God was that flexible, would you accept Him as a friend?
