So, let's review the disparity in the past few days.

ABC has a video that allegedly warns of an impending terrorist attack that will dwarf 9/11, but ABC doesn't release, and doesn't even comment on it short of "the CIA can't verify it".

CBS has a video that has a bunch of punks making claims the US intelligence community helped them get high-explosives and it immediately hits the headlines.

hmmm....

Yeah, it's very interesting, I like how all of this comes out right before the elections.

Me too drg. The details of a video that actually could be a warning of a potential attack remains undisclosed to us - why? because the media doesn't want the war on terrorism to be felt as real right now? and the CIA has admitted a beef with the Bush Administration because of getting their tails caught in the bad-intell-led-to-war screen.

Meanwhile, the media just jumps on any chance to make the US military, intelligence community and administration look incompetent or complicit days before the election.

A related story mentions a lot of looting at that site after the troops were there:

NY Times
Looters stormed the weapons site at Al Qaqaa in the days after American troops swept through the area in early April 2003 on their way to Baghdad, gutting office buildings, carrying off munitions and even dismantling heavy machinery, three Iraqi witnesses and a regional security chief said Wednesday.

The Iraqis described an orgy of theft so extensive that enterprising residents rented their trucks to looters. But some looting was clearly indiscriminate, with people grabbing anything they could find and later heaving unwanted items off the trucks.

We don't know if they took explosives but the article mentions they took computers, heavy machinery and munitions like artillery shells.

Does it not bother anyone else that they are claiming to have gotten help from officers and soldiers of "the american intelligence"?

That's the only part of the story that I have trouble believing.

Maybe if they wouldn't BE incompetent and complicit, they wouldn't be seen this way...???

I see your point, just thought I'd throw that out there, hehe....

is that the mainstream media sources are not confirming stories. The fact that the explosives were not verified to be in the installation at the time of invasion is extremely worrying.

But the concept that looters ran off w/ 40 truck fulls is laughable.

The mainstream media is running off at the mouth on both sides IMHO

Most definitely, but to be honest I sense this particular video as being a "staged" event simply to cast more doubt before the elections. Just another part of the game being played, but IF it is true, then our level of screwdness just picked up a notch.

in men who hide behind masks and make claims w/out any discerning proof to thier allegations, really shows how gullible we can get

If.....once again, this is a big IF this is true that they were recieving help... Is everyone forgetting that even in our armed forces we had people trying to sell us out because they were radical islamists?

It could be possible, but who knows with all the claims that have been happening recently.

It is plainly obvious for everyone to see that there are many groups trying to influence the elections...and not exactly in favor of the present administration. Could this be another attempt by the terrorists to sway the public from voting for Bush?....
