Ever find yourself in a pinch and don't have bread, this is a recipe that I go to consistantly. It is a denser, cake like bread that is very filling
and goes great with soup, chile, etc.......
3 cupsflour; (sifted)
3 teaspoonsbaking powder; (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
1 teaspoonsalt; (omit if using Self-Rising Flour)
1 12-oz canbeer
1/2 cupbutter; (1/4 cup will do just fine), melted
1Preheat oven to 375 degrees.
2Mix dry ingredients and beer.
3Pour into a greased loaf pan.
4Pour melted butter over mixture.
5Bake 1 hour, remove from pan and cool for at least 15 minutes.
Get creative with it and add different herbs, cheese, and beer.
Very simple to make bread, that I thought I would share with my fellow foodies on ATS!
