I mean remote access the nodes.

IDK about that last part. My thoughts on this will not be shared on ATS because it is a public forum. I will put it like this...there are few times I would be convinced to act against my faith...

Allowing them to continue fuels child porn - which causes the exact opposite of the intended effect of having less children abused.

There is a solution to this, but we seem to prefer to legalize killing babies than those who would rape them (yes I brought abortion into this, it fits).

I guess it might be possible. The nodes are PC's, people volunteer their own PC's to be a node, I used to run an exit node back when I had kickass internet in NY. Until I find unlimited net up here it is impossible to do. To run a node, all you have to do is enable the option, and keep the program running, and connected to the net. The most risky and hard to find is exit nodes, as that is the IP that the websites sees as user IP. To be an exit node, you have to enable that specifically too, most people choose to be a node in the middle.

But wait...wasn't it funded by the US Navy? What evidence do we have that many of the nodes are NOT run by US govt computers?

Also, is it possible that once into the system of nodes they could..well you get the point?

Oh, I am certain there are gov run nodes, and not just US nodes either. In order to know what is being sent, you need to be an exit node. But then, you don't know where it came from. Data is encrypted by TOR before you send it, then the middle nodes just send it along, the exit note decrypts and sends to the destination. It then gets a response, encrypts it, and sends it back through the chain to the user.

I am no expert by any stretch though, I know enough to use it in advanced ways. I am not sure how you are able to make "new circuts" in the middle of sending or receiving data, and not interrupt it for example, I just know you can.

I understand exactly what you are saying, I was just saying I never thought about it that way personally. Sounds like we are interested in the same subjects, mainly NLP and other covert influence

I would assume the first people that coined the term darknet, were either consciously, or subconsciously trying to repel people from it

Would have been way more interesting if it was like marianas web he accessed lol cus deep web is very easy to connect to . Some onion sites even are accessible through basic surface web browsers like chrome or firefox.

I am not saying they should use tactics like this on every little illegal transaction, for this would be of no benefit to the tax payers - but child porn? Catch them by any means necessary.

They aren't worried about the people who view it. They are after the people who are producing and/or distributing it on a mass scale. Do you know how long it would take to arrest every single person who views/downloads child porn? It isn't worth their time or money. They would rather rip the tree out by the root instead of trimming the branches.

Governmental agencies are THEORETICALLY good. They are OSTENSIBLY designed to help the citizens ruled by that government. And I, personally, still do believe that most people in the government BELIEVE that they are working in the citizens' best interests.

The ones viewing will be the new F* N* producing this S*. And no I have absolutely no idea how long it would take, I just assumed there are not that many doing that stuff. If there are a lot, they need to start paying people to handle it. I know, no profits and all that demonic influence on society maybe?

edit: It is more profitable to go after dope boys than child rapists - they give them longer sentences in prison for some f*d up reason and they have to pay to "rehabilitate" the child predators unlike the man trying to help his family in a bad situation.

Maybe that has something to do with it? DEA? How about CREA? Child Rape Enforcement Agency. Why do we not have one? I will give you 1 guess as to why. Here is a hint : $

Corporate influence. They work for them, the 1% and up, not us - the 99%. They are probably not happy about this, much like us.

I ran a TOR relay for a few years until technical issues forced me to disable it. I have long suspected people use these for really awful things like kiddie porn. I would like to run it again as a public service, but I can't do it in good conscience of I know these things are flowing (encrypted) on my system. Of course if you run a TOR relay it's not up to you to judge what's in the data stream, so I'll have to leave it off.

That's what also keeps me from doing it, if I have to part of a bad thing to bad part of a good thing then I guess it's better to leave things as they are.

I agree. Unless you are using it to bypass tyrants, I don't see any use.

tor is not secure anyway,

the end nodes can monitor traffic, wouldn't be surprised if some of the exit nodes are run by three letter agencies.

It's also dirt slow.

As for 'dark web', i say welcome to planet earth. Children are exploited in many ways, not just online.
