the biggest hole in this concept is the black market. you can buy guns, rockets, people. how can you liscense self preservation? also they can make gun safety classes free or really cheap. liscensing gun ownership is a flawed concept due to black market, blueprints. by your logic people should be liscensed to own chainsaws

Maybe it is to become the norm.

Necessary? Maybe not. Allowed? Should be. A gun across his back, and another holstered, are not threatening anyone. Plus, if some actual shooter showed up, that fellow could prevent another mass killing. Private citizens with guns have done so, no matter what the anti-gun crowd wants people to believe. They don't get credit because those showing the data don't include cases where fewer than four people were killed. As in, successful prevention of a mass shooting! Go figure. Looks like a nice weapon.

why in the world should Americans be subjected to any test just to exercise a natural right ?

you really don't want me to express my opinion of those tests, do you?
those same tests that ppl like Nidal Hasan administered and supposedly passed ?
those tests

psychiatrist/Army Major/Hasan

who said anything about curing anyone or anything ?
you are seeking to harm law-abiding citizens by merely requesting a 'compromise' ... how insulting.

you push a 'mental health' agenda and don't even bring something to table to substantiate your 'compromise' ... now that's hilarious

do tell, what would every law-abiding gun owner GAIN by accepting such a compromise ??

are you/govt going to provide unlimited arms of our choosing and ammunition at no cost to us ?

maybe extend a period of amnesty so we can assist with the duties of defense that this country needs so badly without fear of reprocussion ?

are you willing to have the standing army disbanded ?

do tell, what are you offering in compromise for this grand delusion ????

There has been too much violence. Too much pain. But I have an honorable compromise. Just walk away. Give me your pump, the oil, the gasoline, and the whole compound, and I'll spare your lives. Just walk away and we'll give you a safe passageway in the wastelands.Just walk away and there will be an end to the horror.~Humungus

People cause the violence, not the movies.

Same as people kill people not guns.

People need to get a grip. Really they do.

Sure.

And Star for that comment. People should exercise their rights, to the fullest, less we lose them.

It will be very interesting to see how far people will go before the surrender their rights.

Talk is cheap.

Hell, people are willing to give up their rights, because they don't even know they have them let alone fight for them!

You’re right - talk IS cheap.

You shouldn’t prejudge anyone. Haven’t you had your arse kicked at some point in your life like most of us? The first guy who whooped my arse was an easy victory for me….so I thought.

I knew a PFC in Iraq who was awarded a bronze star for his actions. 3 weeks before we were boots-on-ground he was getting ragged on every day for his poor performance and his inability to follow simple orders; we all thought he was a turd!

You’d be surprised who rises to the surface and surprises the hell out of you with bravery when the SHTF.

Just an outsider's opinion but this guy in the supermarket 'exercising his rights' actually makes him the perfect poster boy for the anti-gun lobby IE the perfect example of why things need to change and the sooner the better.

Be prepared to accept some change peacefully (sufficient to placate those against you) and your continued rights in general will be persist albeit slightly diminished. Demonstrate violent or even threatening resistance and risk losing the rights altogether. You're your own worst enemy sometimes without even realising it.
