Mechanically, that capability can be enabled fairly easily with these kinds of rifles.

Got any evidence to back that claim?

We're talking about AR's here not AK's.

And if you read through that little tutorial it's clear the "conversion" is just breaking it so it malfunctions erratically and inconsistently.

Not remotely in the same league as a functional conversion.

Wow!

You sure showed him! A link on how to modify an AK47!

Too bad that isn't what the man in the picture has.

Try learning a bit about firearms first.

That may seem to be true. However, the fact that so many people in the store were scared, and that the employee wouldn't deal with him, shows how thoroughly the government and media have brainwashed people. I wouldn't have been scared, especially considering how this whole gun debate has heated up. I would have assumed it was him trying to prove a point. He proved a couple things. That a man can carry a gun in public and not be a murderer, and that a lot of people are fools when it comes to guns. I say good on him.

If anyone thinks this clowns action were anything other than insane then you have been brainwashed by your Government, Hollywood and a out of date second amendment, i so Hope Obama Takes away your Toys......

Hows this then.....

All you PRO-GUN peeps are just setting yourselves up for Failure.
You Know this will prompt others to do the Same, as this PRO GUN guy did, and it will Go Bad Somewhere.

Then all you PRO GUN people will be clamoring,

"He doesnt Represent Us. He Was A Nutter".

Someone with a little mechanical knowledge and the right tooling can convert a trashbag full of aluminum cans into an M60. Are we going to track drill presses? Register every one who can weld?

Nope. As you can see from this thread us "pro-gun peeps" are saying that he was fully within his rights to do what he did, in the state that he resides in.

There have been a few to say that they think they would have made their point differently, and a couple to point out that his muzzle should be pointing straight up or down.

But so far, the only ones to call this man "insane", "nutters", and "crazy" are the anti-gun peeps.

Why?

Because you all have been brain washed to think that guns are BAD! That people with guns are BAD. And have given over to an irrational fear of someone with a gun.

Take the gun off of him, and do you still think he is "nutters" ?

Hopefully you are not shallow enough to think so. That his hair cut bothers you. Or the clothes he is wearing, or how he talks, etc, etc, etc.

You know what would have raised alarm bells in me? not the gun. Maybe how he was holding it, but how I see it in the picks, it get's noted and nothing more.

No, what would have raised alarm bells in me is if he was holding a Zippo lighter in one hand, and a large spray can in the other.

Indeed. Just like the fine example that two men had set in Portland, OR.

Education is key to this entire gun/second amendment debate. People are "taught" by the media that guns are basically more evil than a Christian's view of the devil. The gun is much more than a weapon, it's a symbol of American Freedom. TPTB are picking apart the Constitution and putting it through a shredder. The puppet masters behind the NWO and Agenda 21 deem our Freedom a threat.

History repeats itself; and if we want change we have to PEACEFULLY march by the millions and show everyone what a well regulated militia looks like. Not "mentally ill gun nuts" that the media is brainwashing people into believing. The MSM is the real enemy here. They paint our dear Constitution as old and unfit to be of any use in our modern times. Telling us what we NEED or DON"T NEED...instead of educating us on what our RIGHTS are.

I don't own a gun and I certainly don't need one...but I sure as hell support law abiding Americans that own/have a right to a gun. I support proper education on firearms and I think the MSM and America's handling of it's healthcare system should be looked a more thoroughly.

Ok, I'll Play.

So, he leaves the JC Penny, and is at the Trunk of his Car getting Ready to put the Gun away.

He reaches to bring his gun off his shoulder, and you as a CCW come around the Corner and see a Guy with a "legal gun", you , of course yell.

"My Fellow Legal Carrying Friend, Lets go to Starbucks, and have a Latte"

Ya right.

Used to be the norm to carry your gun, or guns with you as you went about town, or the fields, woods near your home. My uncle used to carry his 44mag on his hip wherever he went. It was 92-93, the last time I saw him carry into a store.

Can anyone explain what it was that changed this outlook on guns and garnered the new, more fearful approach to people who openly carry? Is it not the same political correctness that has also demonized a woman who breastfeeds her child in public?

Political correctness is, or has, destroyed the fabric of our great nation and turned it into a wimpy cess-pool of corruption and pansies who are going to be overrun. Sometimes I really think it's too late.

Tyranny will not win..eventually after the dust settles the people will be victorious.

Yeah, you gotta wonder what would have happened if he came across someone with the same dumbass idea as he did on that particular day....My guess is the world would be two oxygen thief's lighter...

That's just insane.

I don't care if it is his "right", there is no purpose for it except to intimidate people and rub people's nose in his rights. This isn't the Wild West anymore. It's particularly callous and anti-social to behave in such a way following recent events in Aurora and Newtown. Just because you can do soemthing, doesn't mean you should.

And - if people don't get that - then, we're just broken as a country and we have become barbarians. We've devolved.

I really hope local law enforcement takes note of who he is, before we all see him on the nightly news for something more tragic.

I think you're out of your mind.

You see, I believe in the right to go shopping without wondering if the nut with the assault rifle is going to suddenly start shooting.

I live in reality, not in a fantasy land where any Joe Schmo can stop a crime with his gun.

Save that for old westerns.

He's just another #ing idiot out to enforce a stereotype about gun owners.

Brazen and lacking in logic.

Yep, he nailed that one.
